There's always a lot of vto from January to maybe March and they layoff seasonal employees through January to about late February, maybe sporadically in March
Lived through a major layoff. Years ago while working at ABX Air in Wilmington Ohio. At that time was a pretty substantial air cargo company. They closed operations suddenly. Moral here if it can happen to a major company like that it can happen anywhere. Always be prepared for the unexpected.
@cruzerbager3242 at the time back in late 2008 it was rough. It was hard to because not many places you could go. I eventually had to take a job at pizza hut and in a year went from a cook to management. I was simply surviving any way I could. I'm at amazon now and started last May at an air facility then transferred into a FC back in Spetember in pack. Since I've been there I've had the opportunity to learn several different roles within pack. Single, multi, gift wrap, waterspider, taper, and getting ready to move toward learning problem solve. I just go in and get after it aggressive. With the focus of getting away from the rate directed role not that I have any problem keeping pace. What drew me here was career choice. I've got the plan to go back for robotics as they call it mechatronics. With amazon that is what I realized I needed to do with their obsession with robots.
@@S.B.It is. I'm realizing with Amazon sure they may be busy. But it could be worse. But if you work hard it pays off. I came here with the mind set I was going to get after it out of the gate. I always tell everyone be prepared but go kill it in the pursuit to get where you want. And you were right make your destination clear. I asked to learn problem solve and go higher and they told me they would help me in my journey. But for everyone out there, you gotta define it, work hard and it'll pan out. Eyes on the prize.
amzn stock has been doing well lately especially with everything they are doing in AI. But yes layoffs are coming and it will hit hard employees must have a plan b. Dont get comfortable!!
That’s why if you work in any warehouse! You gotta save up money ! Save something every week if you can…people get comfortable and spend and spend and spend cuz they think they are good and secure in the job
Retail is dying, California is dealing with a mass exodus (as well as illinois) due to rampant crime & poor business incentives. Dollar stores and small pharmecies are not making a profit margin due to extreme inflation. The economy has been burning hot for so long that this major cooldown is making everyone look at their budget again. There is alot of fat in companies that are very prosperous for a long time and now its time to re-evaluate what is making money in companies and what isnt making money. I think there is a slowdown but perhaps not as extreme as what you are suggesting
Austin texas gen 11 Fc. Peak for us is slow. No outbound labor share. Vto for inbound at times 😢. The entire year has been sweeping, taping, vto. I start a new transfer in detroit 1-1-25. Close to family. Time to reconsider things and perhaps go be a nurse.
Don't think I'm gloating or making fun. But I remember when miner's were getting laid off a couple of years ago and the media and the shit Libs were laughing at them saying they should learn to code. Coding ain't doing too great. 😮
Remember how people were using their credit cards to pay for monthly bills during the lockdowns in 2020 ? Banks are not doing good, foreclosures on commercial realestate, high interest rates , 2008/09 market crash but for different reasons coming our way 😢
In Poland we have some medium guy and he predicting for 2025 that will be war and will be financial crisis bigger then in 2008. He saying thats its war between US and China about money as China is in briks and want own currency then dollar will loose position in the world trade and then it will be collapse of the system.
The higher up said this earlier this year in march it will be extremely slow and hiring we’ll be halted, it’s gonna get much worse before it get better and he was a chairman,I had to leave Amazon I love the place but I got a amazing job at Porsche so I’m happy we’ll be going back to school soon for tech coding job soon, and surprisingly there is a new Amazon near my Porsche location lol😅
Go back a year ago, then go back 5 years ago, massive layoffs are always happening. This has been the strongest economy in generations. By every metric this has been the best economy. Wages, employment, stock market. This is also why inflation has been so high. But we will see what is happening by june of 25 as the new administration takes over. So much of what they want to do is going to cost us big time. You are right about spending, we need to be prudent. Figure out how to do more with less. That is what corprate is doing with all of the closures and layoffs. Put money aside for your future
I am skeptical about 2025. Even with the new administration, even if prices stay the same or go down, that won't change. People will still be in debt. At this point, anything is possible, good or bad. There is something I would like to make you aware of. I saw a post in an amazon group that amazon had a data breach of employees' information. Could you make a video about this.

SB. Do you agree with cashing out a few assets while the stocks are high, and putting the money up in case of a layoff , hardship etc
You said it brother...
"there is no avoiding whats coming up".
Everyone will be effected...
Ain’t no one safe
People have no idea whats coming, hopefully not as bad as I think.
@S.B. all I can say is stock up on long lasting water, food, ammo.
Stock up on water and food.
Last year when peak season ended, my building was doing VTO almost every day in January
I’ve worked at amazon for a few years that happens after every peak season naturally cuz people are buying as much.
There's always a lot of vto from January to maybe March and they layoff seasonal employees through January to about late February, maybe sporadically in March
The beginning of 2025 is going to be insane! Everything is gonna slow down
I wonder how you guys gonna be looking this year, def. keep us posted fam.

That's a wake up call for me (fellow Ohian in manufacturing). How did you come back from that? What are you doing today for work?

Yeah the real economy is cooked. They can play around with A.I. but A.I. won't keep you fed
I agree a few plans it possible.

LOL I been saying the same thing! We going into a new economy and we need to make sure it's the Right eeconomy to go into...

You don’t have to be clairvoyant to know that all you have to do is read current events!

Amazon usually doesn't hire around that time so that is normal and it's usually slow
Hold on to your jobs
Porsche?? Man hopefully all goes well over there, and def. the worse has yet to come hopefully we can all weather the storm.
@@S.B. Yeah I really enjoy it,I’m a car guy so it’s even better

A building just closed near me.
GET READY FOR MORE CLOSURES
I think we'll be seeing more sadly.
@@suorangehisk what city had the closure?
