Greetings: Airports are not the only place this occurs. Private travel also: Buses, trains, ships, Etc. That dog is easily trained to do this . I can train my dog to do exactly this every time I smooch or point or snap my fingers or cluck . These dog searches should be challenged.
It's illegal seizure before the search and if you don't want to call it seizure it would be theft period. The DEA shouldn't be getting alerts about any citizen purchase and the airline should be liable for releasing citizens information. Then when law enforcement commits crimes against citizens they must face prosecution. We the people are tired of government protecting government and walking all over the people that your hired to serve. This isn't a isolated incident it's a everyday occurrence illegal search using dogs for false alerting illegal seizure continuous violations of citizens rights by multiple agencies. This is why qualified immunity must be abolished and law enforcement held accountable for their actions. They enjoy causing undue hardship when you don't immediately concent and follow their orders, miss flights vehicles towed property seized unlawful arrest costing your employment planting drugs wrecking families. Then they hide the evidence of your innocents want release public records file false reports or no report at all. If you make them mad enough you get on a no fly list,or end up law enforcement radar turned in to ATF IRS FBI HLS Boarder patrol anything to cause hardship and suffering.
Taking advantage of vulnerable citizens is reprehensible. This is an extention of civil asset forfeiture and must be outlawed.Last minute tickets would seem to be a reasonable thing for someone traveling for a family emergency, so already emotional state. And, when boarding a plane, detaining baggage IS detaining the passenger, to say otherwise is stupid.
In my experience, re incidents with friends, etc, LEO NEVER apologize when they falsely accuse people, say "We know you did X", etc. All they'd have to do is admit they were wrong and it would be MUCH more reasonable. Instead, it makes lots of people NOT trust them.
@@neilkurzman4907But they are paying the airline employees that are tipping off the agents when they identify passengers that bought a last minute tickets with confiscated funds.
If a TSA agent informs them of someone carrying cash they also get a cut of it in the form of a bonus. All while the individual has committed no crime.
This is wrong and criminal. They had already been told in the past not to do this I am a retired law enforcement officer of 44 years, and I have worked local to the national level for several offices, departments, and agencies. We were taught, and we were constantly getting updated training and always taught that we had to have articable reasonable suspicion of a crime at foot and a specific charge. No dragent type of thing ever. If we knew such and not following our teaching, we had zero immunity as it was In bad faith. We were liable in both capacities, personnel, and officially alike. Some old cops always try to tell rookies how to get around this CONSTITUTIONAL THING....its not a thing.. it's the Supreme law of the land in which we are sworn by oath to obey and gauretee. I'd love to be interviewed by this channels investigative team. I say follow the law, or your ass goes to jail. Especially for cops as it's a betrayal of the oath of office and you know better. They do this for raises, upgrade in rank and special status among their peers and management alike.
In 2021 I purchased a car out of state, bought a one-way plane ticket from Boise to Seattle and I was pulled aside "because I bought my last minute one-way ticket and paid for it in cash." and I was taken to a room and searched as well as my possessions. "FORTUNATELY" I had printed hard-copies of all the proof-of-purchase paperwork of the car that I was traveling to take possession of and drive it back home. THAT was not 'compelling' to them ... what they couldn't argue with me about was my brand new proof of insurance, proof of financing and my well worn Rand-McNally folded travel map with my route home mapped and where I planned to over-night on my drive back home. Otherwise this would have been me fighting with the government.
Yeah but you are not required to say anything to police at any time and you can't be punished for that. It violates the 4th and 5th amendment and people just roll over instead of filming it, not consenting, and filling a lawsuit
Just want to add you *are* required to give the police your name and your ID ONLY, in case anyone is listening and hopefully starts invoking their right to not speak to police. Yes it's hard but they cannot do anything to you too make you talk. Don't be intimidated. talking will never help.
The officers who did the actions should be charged criminally, they knew what they were doing was illegal and falsified paperwork to back up their activities. There is no reason they should not face criminal charges.
The sad part about all of this, is that Congress has long known that people were being unconstitutionally searched and were having their money seized without any suspicion of a crime. It's not just in airports. Its in bus stations, on the side of the road during a traffic stop, in parking lots, in hotel lobbies, etc. 100s of millions of dollars have been taken by "law enforcement". Civil Asset Forfeiture needs to stop and law enforcement training needs to highlight constitutional rights.

who trained these fools and who covered up their behavior. this should be considered domestic terrorism
I love the way the upper level people at the Department of Justice act like they had no idea what was happening.
Yes, they are the exact same people that directed these low level officers to do this exact thing
Thank you! Your work and dedication has helped protect thousands of folks from these unjust and illegal actions.
This is piracy. Not law enforcement.
The airlines the employs worked for should be taken to court.
Its literally a robbery done by a police
Thank goodness!! This robbery went on far too long.
This is one reason for the aet up of police-free communities like in Capitol Hill in Seattle, WA during the COVID-19 pandemic.
If these guys were not reporting the seizures they could put the money in their own pockets!
Greetings: Airports are not the only place this occurs. Private travel also: Buses, trains, ships, Etc. Also the commercial transport industry drivers have been 'extorted' about as long as the business. LEOs taking cash on roadside traffic stops and inspections. If such proposed law is approved, hopefully it will cure such disrespect of law and citizen. Thx 4 the share.
Yeah look up the case of Stephen Lara versus Nevada highway patrol and state of Nevada
You forgot private automobiles
@neilkurzman4907 Greetings: I stated "Private travel". Following that is commercial.
The airline that was feeding the info about passengers with cash to the dea agents woud be fair game in a civil suit.
Prosecutors also never apologize for putting innocent people in jail.
An airline employee is getting a cut? Sounds like the airline owes a lot of people a lot of money!
You should get triple damages for seizure of cash
Look at how aggressive the agent is. This is because he keeps some to all of it. ❤❤❤❤ like a drug addict looking for a fix
No, he doesn’t get to keep any of it. But I’m sure it helps his promotion.
@@neilkurzman4907But they are paying the airline employees that are tipping off the agents when they identify passengers that bought a last minute tickets with confiscated funds.
They get to keep 8% it funds entire departments and ensures they keep hiring and getting increasing paychecks
If a TSA agent informs them of someone carrying cash they also get a cut of it in the form of a bonus. All while the individual has committed no crime.
Interesting play by the DEA.
This is wrong and criminal. They had already been told in the past not to do this
I am a retired law enforcement officer of 44 years, and I have worked local to the national level for several offices, departments, and agencies.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!
Now listen: Independence is a power to freedom.
Will the illegally taken money ever going to be given back?
Only if you can prove how you got it.... bring tax docs .... or that is dope funding.... they will smoke the money!😮
The officers who did the actions should be charged criminally, they knew what they were doing was illegal and falsified paperwork to back up their activities. There is no reason they should not face criminal charges.
" Badges? We don't need no stinking badges"
Thank you for keeping the investigation ongoing. They've been doing this for decades. Sadly, police departments are still engaging in asset forfeiture during traffic stops
There is no accountability for any of this. How many lives were ruined by this and how many people lost money.
Whoever told you that one person can't make a difference lied too you,as we can see 😂
Well? Not that simple...
1 person, correct! ✅
At, the Right Time, & while watching a video of an investigation into the very actions being taken! 😉✌🏽
The Institute for Justice has been litigating this
Now this is real news and a journalist taking his profession seriously. Bravo!!! 👏👏👏
Just doing away with the program to me means no heads will roll, and it will be re-introduced under a new name smh.
Give that money back to innocent passengers
Because they got caught
"Power never voluntarily limits itself."
Simple answer for a simple mind. 😂
THERE ARE MORE JIM CROW LAWS ON THE BOOKS NOW THAN IN THE JIM CROW ERA
and LE wonders why they are hated.
Right. Reasonable cops are fine. It's all the JERK and CRIMINAL LEO's that are NOT.
The DEA AGTS should have been FIRED!!!!!!!!!!
So TSA officers have incentive to notify the cash forfeiture cops . So much corruption .
What is causing the decline in morality and integrity?
But yet i just got robbed by the cops in Atlanta yesterday . So what ever d.o.j. told these cops went in one ear and out the other
Was it boarding a plane or did they pull you over in a car
You should get in touch with this investigative team. Just earlier this month ALL the mainstream outlets reported this was stopped. They need to know it's still happening as we speak.
This is repulsive to basic human rights man ,
He sounds like a real cowboy seizing cash at the airport .
Thank you for what you do. We need more people like you to help every day Americans live their lives without government interference.
He's robbing the man right in his face leaving him powerless this is beginning to make the law ineffective
This gentleman is a true American Hero
Its still going on at the salt lake city airport.
Good to know. Now I know why I am afraid to fly.
😡🤬😡 NOW STOP DOING TO INNOCENT DRIVERS ON THE HYWY
These guys are dirty cops! Shameless, shameful practice
Government must be held too account .
Compensation paid to for money stolen, and money. Returned with intrest on the money unlawfully stolen
It is a slow push to a cashless society because with all currency being digital they can control its flow at will. They cannot control cash flow at will. Thank you for the work you have done on this and for exposing the issues at hand.
Thank you, Atlantic News.
Great reporting and outcome for the innocent population of America.
Power of investigative reporting...
AbolishQualifiedImmunity
My 80 yo mother was put on the no-fly list for buying same day tickets to go abroad with cash. My father flew on business without lead time from country to country. He wanted her to join him in cool places. It took a lot to get her off the list
Thank you this bullying and harassment had to end it was so corrupt and targeted, I have a family member who travels internationally for work and pleasure often and a diamond status got searched several times targeted definitely glad it stopped.
I haven't been on a plane since they created the TSA i will walk before I let them have any authority over me
WELL BECAUSE IT WAS SHADY FROM THE START 😮
Restitution, interest, punitive damages, and fees should all be given no matter what people were extorted to sign .
They have an incentive to take money because they get a percentage.
No wonder the government worked so hard to crush the Mafia. They hate the competition.
Now do a story on to Civil Asset Forfeiture done on highways
who is this airline person that is doing this and airline name so we can all sue
Rand Paul is one of the few congressman that is looking out for the people!!!
What a joke about power of investigation. Power would be them being charged with a crime and losing their jobs with a jail sentence. Attorney general should have relieved them of their authority. It will happen again.
Ok- so what happens NOW..?!
ANY ACCOUNTABILITY?! ANY?!
I can't believe only one person recorded this interaction. This is in no way consensual.
'Just as every cop is a criminal...'
BECAUSE IT VIOLATED THE CONSTITUTION.
Great story. Thanks for following up ❤
The gov seems to have forgot.
The burden is on the government to prove guilt, not for citizens to prove their innocence
CROOKED COPS AND THEFT ACTIVITIES, WHY NO CHARGES AND PRISON FOR THEFT BY AUTHORITIES
MOST people did NOT get every penny back... that's the facts
