Hey Ryan, have you heard of Havening? it could help your clients with addiction, depression, anxiety and almost any health problems. It's just 3 simple exercises that help to re-regulate the amygdala by generating Delta brainwaves, which has been damaged by trauma and stress. As I'm sure you know, it's very hard to treat trauma, and this gets straight to the root of the problem. It's very new, but there's solid science behind it. Somatic (body-based) therapies are definitely the future, as well as plant medicines. Bless you for helping people FOC brother!

With Thailand never being colonized, the Thai haven't bought into the Cathoholic Darwinazi Mytheory of Evolution.
The Thai are still connected anciently to the original FACT of DEVOLUTION.
The truth is that the Thai don't consider FARANGs as superior, but rather the opposite: INFERIOR.
They smile to get FARANGs resources, but they really prefer an existence without them.
Those who've been there a while experience their inferiority in the hierarchy just as the HANUMAN (Neandertalbinos) did in the ancient world.
Thailand is not the answer for those who've bought into Darwinazi evolutionary nonsense and think they are special.
      Charles Sobraj hunted those types.
Neandertalbinos DEVOLVED down from the GIANT BLACKSKINDIAN BUDDHIST TIRTHANKARAs.
      Digestate it.

Your words of wisdom brother are way above my 48 years on this Earth. Speaking and hearing the truth forces oneself to recognise and address self inflicted addiction issues. There's always an easy way out to dodge the reality of the situation, until something happens in your life as a result of said addiction that tends to sober one up immediately. At that point, more excuses often ends up at the bottom of a hole, where it becomes everyone else's issue, but yours. Very, very easy to become a 'victim'. I've been there and it's not easy, at all. Reaching out for help and assistance is the only thing left to do. Thank you for your words of advice and wisdom. I truly appreciate it.

Great vlog/rant again. Totally agree with what you said today as I too am weird but like you I am now totally comfortable in my own skin. Used to work all over southeast Asia but Thailand holds a special place in my heart. Now at 60 I am living my own dream life in my own little house with many hobbies including gardening and pets in my home country of Sri Lanka. Love your content and looking forward to more. Peace and joy to you and yours. ❤

There are things that we know we know, things that we know we don't know but also things that we don't know that we don't know...the blind spot. How can we address or repair something we cannot identify...we don't know what we don't know. It all starts and ends with the individual. Great vlog Ryan.

Thailand (rural Thailand) has been completely transformative for me, Thailand can be the answer to breaking the Western mold so long as you are willing to embrace the culture., and give up the eternal Western attraction of want over need. Thailand has saved my life, Without the meaning and serenity I experienced in the day-to-day life of my family and friends here I have no doubt I would be dead!. By the way, Ryan you have a wonderful singing voice, I had no idea. Fuck the Bell end curve, Black swans are the rule.

I think this was one of your best videos so far! I liked it as I don't feel alone in my struggles.
It is so wonderful of you to provide counseling to those that have lost their way. I hope God will best you and your family immensely!
I was surprised to see that you could sing so well. You have a great voice when you sing. It is like a great raspy voice perfect for any kind of genre of music. It is so different from your talking voice.
How long did you have to go to school to learn to play the keyboard? I saw that you go by memory and reading any notes.
Is there anything you can't do? 😂 This is ridiculous!! 😂
You are an incredibly talented man! I hope your kids get these talents which I am sure they will as you are a hands on dad.
And I love your garden with the Wisteria trellis, it is so beautiful. I am surprised you were able to grow all those plants so fast as I remember when you started and it didn't much on that land.
The little cottage and the design of the kitchen are so cool. How do you do it all? I mean, it looked like a professional architect/designer had put it together! You have been truly blessed with so many talents.
Liked your words of wisdom, I just wish someone told me that when I was younger.
In the end it is about family as our time is limited on this earth. Thanks for sharing.

After, the storms took so much, I returned to the southern USA, mothers home town, and where one of kids lives. I was in Culebra PR..
I was in a culture where I was asked everywhere, people are open and friendly. I have been here since 3/2019, and still have not met my neighbors. Had to get a car, because walking is just for really big cities.
I feel like a fish out of sea. My son and daughter just went to the island to sign contract to sell my place. What they don’t know is that I don’t want to stay in the US.
My fear is that I am an older woman, 66. I am super active and healthy and petit, but I am alone. And my kids don’t feel safe for me to be far from then. However, only one lives near me, and she is super busy with her family, career and Dalmatians !
I have a friend in Moo 3 area, near Chang Mai, she has been there decades, we were neighbors on the island, they lived in a sail boat.
So, as soon as I sell the place I will be going on a years trip, learn Thai and see if I could retire there.
Thanks for all your input, follow all your videos.

Hi Ryan, what does it matter if you go off topic, it's your channel you can do as you please. Furthermore when you do I am always fascinated by what you say and your personal thoughts and way of thinking, and I always stay to the end 🙂. You are not a commercial vlogger who usually talk a load of BS and are very egotistical, but what you say somes from your heart and soul, especially relating to things that you have experienced. When I was a Probation Officer, I had many clients who were drug or alcohol dependant and most of whom I tried to hook up with specialists as well as counselling them myself. I have never experienced the addictions that they had but my sessions coupled with those specialists who had "come out the other side" seemed to work for a small percentage of those with whom I worked, but sadly many of them reached the end of the road well before they even started a recovery plan. Thank you so much for your honesty and integrity. You are right when you say Thailand is not always the answer, but I guess it depends what the question is. For me I don't think I could have had a more perfect retirement. I mean 100% retirement here in Isaan, not 6 months here and six months in UK or USA. I am committed to Thailand, and have no wish to return to UK and all that entails. I couldn't afford to for one thing. God bless you, Damo, Otis and Hugo 😀🙏❤

Excellent Vlog Ryan. So many truths in what you say here.
I think in many case's folk coming to Thailand looking for a new and fresh start bring with them all the things they were hoping to leave behind, just as you pointed out.
In order to thrive in Thailand or any other country for that matter, one needs to leave all baggage behind and totally focus on a new beginning. It's the only way if one wants to succeed.
Your honest in regards to your own struggles is very refreshing and enlightening I am glad you are able too share your own experience as it makes everything you say legitimate.
Thanks again for an enlightened vlog, cheers Ryan

I think rural Thailand has for some , ( at least) a better opportunity to find quiet inner peace and dissolve a few demons . Replace the complex with simple - And habits pass into yesterday - or are no longer an issue - for me anyway -As I aged I followed my wife’s gratitude in her Buddhist beliefs . Sure conquests need to be done regardless of location -But for me the metamorphosis came in the country side of Isaan

Hi, Ryan brilliant vlog as usual my wife and I have been in rural Thailand (North East Issan by the Kong River) for nearly 2 years and have had more real living, peak experiences, and joy here than in the last 30 years in the western world, it's not for everyone snakes, insects, extreme weather and hot... I have realized that here there are pretty much hot days every day but different types of hot the most uncomfortable of which is hot and humid, when it becomes difficult to put a tea shirt on "it just sticks to your back" 39 degrees centigrade and 95% humidity... We have had so many exciting experiences since we have been here As for alcohol I was never an alcoholic but very much a habitual drinker bottle of wine a night if not more, for years... here I drink very little the thought of losing a day because I have a bad hangover is anathema to me, every day is precious but the odd glass of my Kratom brew is pretty cool. Keep up the good work yours is the only Thailand Vlog I watch now both of your channels and recognize in what you're doing many similarities with what we are doing but I am an old git so take it much easier than you guys... 🙏🙏🙏

You take your problems with you, wherever you are and wherever you might go. Wherever you go, there you are. You bring you and all your luggage. It can be heavy baggage, so you should learn to unpack the crap you don't need, that doesn't serve your purpose or it will weigh you down.
A move overseas merely changes the geography and perhaps can lower the cost of living. That's it. There aren't magic unicorns in Thailand, nor are there any in Vietnam or Albania. It's just a place. Hope that the scenery is slightly different and suits your needs!

Although my substance abuse has decreased A LOT, more than 90% compared to my teens and 20’s, I see myself as an addict.
I don’t tell this to any friends or family or coworkers.
They all see me as healthy, good diet, very fit, successful…
But deep down, I know who I am.
So i focus on bettering myself.
    A little more each day.

The answer to anything will always depends on the question asked be it asked by others or oneself, most things in life tend to be better in the mind than reality. Surprising that not many young souls have people who they can talk with to help them out of situations in their lives, not a video that one want to put a song too= time and place.

I just see Thailand as a nice place to live relative to other places. I could have retired anywhere in the world. I just like it here. It’s far from perfect but still a great place. I do enjoy good UA-cam content but when it comes to Thai vloggers it’s gotten plain boring. How many vids on bar girls, non bar girls, thai western relationships, Pattaya and living on $1000 a month can one endure? I enjoy your channel because it’s unique and real. The only other one I enjoy these days is Bangkok Pat because I actually learn something from him and he clearly puts a lot of time and effort into his content like you. You’re also a fellow musician so you got that going for you! Other than that I’ve checked out on Thailand UA-camrs all together.

Honestly, Thailand is just like anywhere else in rural areas, people are people, their needs are the same. The weather might be better than in Europe but storms can be an issue. The only thing that shines is the apparent kindness of the people, no doubt that is disappearing with the appeal of materialism . My take on addiction, if you no longer derive pleasure from it and it processes you desires and thoughts, then it is time to reset!

A "Totally normal" person is an NPC.... but as you say we can easily have our issues... drinking is one for me, and I never had 'trauma' or anything, it's just I almost feel like the modern world is a prison a(I have a verrry good/free job fwiw) and although I am always relatively content and love my family and am happy ... alchohol gives instant relaxation and relief and as you say no -one can really even tell I've been drinking ... hard to justify stopping until serious health issues or something else comes about. That's a problem with it....
Where does your son go to school (public/private/etc ? ) ? Myself and wife lived in Thailand 12 -15 years ago (Thai wife), then moved back to a western country when son was 1 year old (10 years ago) . Now we also have a 2 year old daughter (big gab...) I always loved living in Thailand (Isaan / Sisaket) , I loved it and was very peaceful and didn't drink at all back then, fwiw) , but the need for money forced us back to my home country. Previously I was able to play poker online (which I loved, but was stressful in it's own way) to make enough, but now that's definitely dried up.
Although there are problems in every country, including Thailand, the west is so unbelievably corrupt (at the highest levels, not corrupt police that want 100 Baht) and soul crushing that we both dream of going back to Thailand

Good point on the UA-camrs and getting 'stuck' doing your standard thing just to make a living and keeping up appearances, that would be like a prison in itself .... and a factory job is probably better

Yes, it's important to be yourself, no matter what. Especially if you're weird or different. That's awesome. And probably I've been called a bell end a few times in the past. I don't know 😂😂😂

Do you find that being in a Buddhist culture informs your exploration into psychology, pain, and addiction? I'm saying this because Buddhism can be extremely psychological, focusing on the mind and its relationship with the world.

The modern world actually crushes those on the "bell end" IMO. It's not natural, and crushes the spirit and individuality.

I often say the artist will end up living well off his creation doing what he loves or homeless on the street. For me it’s been the latter. There are huge very real risks in being true to yourself.

Those must be your dogs, whereas they will always be walking ahead, or behind you. Good to see them. Love them doggies. I lost my brother to alcohol, and cocaine long before he ever died. I lost another to sexual perversion. You appear to be wonderfully blessed, and I am glad for you. I suspect it has something to do with King Solomon's discourse of the virtuous woman, whereas you either were very lucky, or made a very wise choice.

I'm a bit of a knob but maybe I could be a bell-end if I try 🙏. Thailand is a great place to be happy in, but it won't make you happy, as you can be miserable in Thailand too if you choose. the choice is yours, not Thailand's!

Needs to be the decent “not normal folk” though hey.! One Vlogger told a Story about a Farang who got into an argument with a local (surely not advisable 😅) who then proceeded to not just spend alot of time living/camping on the Local’s Rubber Tree Land, he was also defecting everywhere too 🤦🏼‍♂️😂 ….and to make sure the local knew 100% who was responsible for the act on his Rubber Tree plantation, the Farang defecated outside the Local’s house right infront of him.! 🤦🏼‍♂️😂😂 ….this guy is/was “not normal”.! 😂
