R.L Burnside is my favorite bluesman. That Hill Country Blues he plays is special. The talent he had should’ve made him a rich man.He was a salt of the earth simple man. Some say poor.I say rich beyond measure.
Most pure sounding music u can hear no fantasy auto tune just a mississippi black man and an ol guitar pickin them blues God I love it you are truly missed RL Burnside
I feel honored to listen to Burnside music when he was here still on Earth..He’s the best modern and true blues masters..True inspired my soul and music..R.I.P. R.L Burnside and thank for putting joy to this world that will echo for centuries ❤
It shows R.L. & Mississippi Fred were neighbors. And we're the lucky ones for it. Hill Country Blues Forever. Thanx for these Gems. LedHed Pb 207.20 🎶 🎸 🎹
Mississippi and R.L.Burnside the history that goes on in that state. Let's look at the Mississippi Blues it goes way back to the Mississippi cotton field to today Blues. Its all America history.
Holy. Oh. My. …oh wow, oh wow, oh wow, ohh -Yup this music right here is proof of some kind of god reaching down and touching the Earth here.. just wow
If you want to know what is like, tired after a long day, to want just want someplace to get a drink, sit down and relax---and to find a cozy juke joint and find a singer play the blues. That singer was R.L. Burnside.
I've had my fair share of pain, blues is a healer and this stuff is pure medicine for my soul, as a musician I aspire to this, if you ain't got it with the bare essentials, a simple geeetar and vocal without all the fancy crap, you ain't got shit. This guy had it going on, but if you know you know, and if you don't that's a crying shame 🤘🔥🎸🎵
I’d give my left nut to see close up video of this actual recording of po black mattie, i’ve watched all the other vids of him on yt for years. i’m not buying that it’s just his thumb doing all the percussion , maybe extra boney finger tips smacking on the rosette, or are we hearing his foot tapping time too? There’s so much goin on. Regardless the man was a blues king no doubt
R L Burnside 'The man' I love his pure raw blues. His legacy lives on.

Same here except when I listen to Fred McDowell. I go back and forth
Instant fan. I think I only knew of the blues brothers that I really like. I just started listening to this guy and I can't stop listening.
This kills the pain of being alive.
This is where it all began. The Stones, Zep, etc., etc., etc. all took their cue from Delta and Hill Country bluesmen. RIP RLB.
Wailin' and moanin' and drinkin' and singin' and playin'... what's not to like? This is the genuine article right here...
his voice is fantastic: fresh and clear, but at the same time, mature and powerful
This guy makes the blues but someone that makes me very happy when I listen
Most pure sounding music u can hear no fantasy auto tune just a mississippi black man and an ol guitar pickin them blues God I love it you are truly missed RL Burnside
he was a strummer, not a picker
He was a picker strummer and rhythm all rolled into one
Recorded outside Coldwater, Mississippi, in 1968.
The Zen Master of Blues...
F***ing Brilliant!!!! Deep, soulful and cuts to the bone.
i came by accident.. listening to some '70 and there was the Black Keys.. and here we go, hit the roots.. there no accidents
"no accidents"? "Too bad, Jim... an' you see me laughin'?"
Hypnotic and full of grace
Sensual and divine
Shining and electric
Quite and booombastic
At the same time
Simply perfect
perfect comment.
R L is an American bad ass
amen

The Black Keys ripped you Off
they cant rip off someone they credited the music that they covered to. they have tribute albums to these guys. they aren't zepplin.
Pretty sure they knew him in real life
SAMO'
Jon Spencer, not the keys.
