I used to be a Busker and would come across fake £1 and £2 coins quite often, the way I could tell would be by dropping it flat onto a concrete paving slab from about 1 foot in height and you can hear the difference straight away, it would sound kind of flat or a kind of thud and not bright like a real coin. Did you also hear about the coin forger who got found guilty of faking 10p coins?...When asked by the Judge how he did it he replied " It was easy your honour, I just filed down the edges on the 50p coins "......... I'll get my coat...
i found a £2 coin like this a few weeks back, its now part of my collection, whether or not its a fake i have no idea but its definitely an interesting find imo especially since £2 coins arent all that common in your change, this one is strikingly similar to mine, the weird colouration, the odd buldging texture on the top of the queens head, mine doesnt have the bizarre off centre look though, and mine also has the queens portrait slightly angled wrong
I’m inclined to agree with your assessment of the coin being a fake, too many things nearly but not quite right. Nice to see 2 Navy centenary’s within so little other finds Great stuff Christopher 👍🏻
Congratulations on getting two Navy £2s in one hunt, considering you’ve only found 3 in the 22 hunts before this one. Definitely that was a fake, colouration of the coin was the biggest tell-tale sign as well as the edge milling.
I am very happy I got three new tow pound coins today I found a abaliton of the slave trade London Underground train and the act of union thanks to you I have started to collect two pound coins and 50ps
Have you heard about the bee pound coin that has been found with only one metal ( no silver coloured inner )? The news article is on the Ledbury reporter website. The coin was found in a sealed bag sent to a post office in Cumbria
do you think the fake coins are made in the uk? i think its fake but a really good one. if its in the uk i wonder where they make them, like in some factory or just in someones shed
The Charles Darwin would sell for over face value if YOU sold it. Some people love a freaky coloured coin. And if you signed it.........a tenner at least 🤔🤦😁
It feels like a real coin, it's 15 years old and looks worn on the milling, the Queens head looks worn not faked, the weight is correct and my gut instinct is saying it's a wicked printing error 🙂

I had to pause the vid for ages to check that coin and yes i think it's a fake as well, nice navy finds though 👍😂

The outer rim differed in width if you look the inner patter is partially on the outer rim.
The inner is offset

I agree, fake. But think what it would be worth if it was a real coin.
Nice flee additions.

Today I found out that the technologies £2 coin has a hologram in the middle of it
Isn’t the and outer parts struck separately before being combined into the final coin?
Hi
Have you done a coin hunt with money withdrawn from a bank near the Royal Mint?
I had a £2 coin recently with the Brunel arches but the typeface on the rim looked very small Is that suspicious?
Looks like the distance from the edge of the coin to the silver part is not equal all round, get a rule out and check.

fool the bandit with 2 pound coin 😅

That's quite a good fake but definitely a fake.
Hii Chris
Off coarse its a fake 👍
Have you heard of The Digital Pound before? Would you want it?
I wouldnt.
Is there an Navy £2 coin from the sets with an flag error out there? Or is this just a thing with the normal circulating coins?
The flag error occurs because of a die crack/damage, those in sets would have been struck with a different die, so probably not
Not being British. But that coin does look wrong. If not a fake, definitely a lemon.
What do you do with fake coins?
He keeps them.
Hello Christopher 👋
Good morning
lol that start wasnt good
I would say FAKE. Queen is not clear enough and edge inscription just looks wrong but better try than most fakes we see!
Odd 2£
Have you seen fake with edge inscription? usually slap dash fakes. Not much into detail. It seemed too right to be fake and too wrong to be real. 🤣🤣🤣
Fake 100% on the 2009 technology
First sensible comment. The navy hands down, just a shame no flag mast error.
There are still the commonwealth £2 coins out there I managed to be given a Scotland one and a England one in one day in my change
First 👍
Fake coin !
It’s a fake - and not even a very good one.
Fake £2 , colour doesn't look right ,
Fake
Looks fake to me.
