A small TIP for everyone making these. When painting the pins, I like to stick some blu-tac or sth like that on the bottom side of the pin and stick a chopstick there to make it easier for me to hold it and work.

Oh wow! 🧚🏼‍♀️ 🌸 🌺It’s so cool to see how you began pin making with basic shapes like eggs and baguettes (yes I remember :) ) and have progressed to the point at which you can turn elements of your illustrations and style like the shopping bag, sandwiches and kitties into clay pins! 🤧 we love to see it 💖💖💖

This is exactly how I do my pins! It took so much trial and error but cutting out the circles to create consistency helps so much 😂 I used to overwork my clay so much because I kept trying to make them match with uneven amounts of clay!

Tip! You can use cardboard shapes you make of what you want the pin to come out as and cut around that for your shapes ❤
Make sure to use thin cardboard otherwise it can prove tricky to cut out complex shapes without rough edges for your tracing

A great video. For anyone else who doesnt have handy long nails to hold the charms with, I like to put a little stick on the back of them with some sticky tack, that lets you hold them easy. Also I think if you have issues with the clay burning, someone told me you can lower the temp and increase the time. Or cover them in tin foil? I never tried though

You should consider using "Create a Cake Shapeable Cake Pan" or tea light to make your own cookie cutters. They're aluminum/tin sheets that keep their shape while cutting clay, but soft enough to reform to the shape you want. Just use one of your favorite shaped pins, form the tin around it, then use that to cut more pins! It should make things go a little faster. :)

Try putting your paintbrush in acetone or nail polish remover right after you use it for the resin. If you don’t do it right after then the resin can harden the bristles together. Hope this helps.

Acetone works well for cleaning UV resin from the brush! Use 100% acetone instead of nail polish remover to avoid extra ingredients like vitamin E and aloe vera. Acetone works well for cleaning up the clay and removing bumps or bubbles after baking it too!
