My daughter said to me... papa roaches version was "anger" but this version is that of "desperation". Amazing how the music changes the presentation of the same lyrics.
on point.
that is exactly how i thought of it! But, how far is true anger from desperation?
I saw someone say this, and I couldn't agree more
Papa roach: Us as rebellious teens.
Ronnie: Us as adults trying to make it through every day.
I think your daughter nailed it man
@@kingcageman4847you can feel angered desperation, & also sad desperation😊
“I think if an Angel and the Devil were trapped in the same body, they would embody Ronnie Radke”… the analogy I’ve been searching for but couldn’t quite find. Beautifully spoken.
The funny part about that statement is that the devil is an angel lol. I get what he’s saying tho and I agree
absolutely
I laughed when he said it cuz I knew exactly what he meant xD
cornballs
Same! Was perfect
This is a version of this song we didn’t know we needed but damn we really needed it! It seriously gives me goosebumps
For me it brings the song from teenage angst up to the adult emotional level and it’s absolutely giving me goosebumps
YES!🖤
He recorded the base vocals in 25 minutes in the studio and they used the first take, I've been waiting for this! The way the lyrics are so much more impactful but both versions are iconic.
Thats absolutely insane for the quality of the song. Insanely talented.
That's insane! His range is just ridiculous
Do you have any interview links?
Quick recordings aren't what makes it good..I'm a lyricist, usually my best tracks are written quickly...it's called being in the zone...not to mention he's just mixing lyrics already written and adding on.
He's dope
I’m the biggest Falling in Reverse fan ever-
So I’m not tryna be a hater when I say it can’t be very hard to just record a songs lyrics that have existed for already 20 years. It’s not like he had to write it. Lmfao. The simping is a little much, even for me, a die hard fan
I find Papa Roach’s version gave off a threat that they’d do it, where as FIR’s version felt more like a plea for help.
Both versions are iconic. I can’t get enough!
Papa Roach gave us that teenage angst
While FIR is giving us that adult sad/emotional feeling
@@niklassrk got goosebumps reading this thank you I couldn't connect why I related so well with this version.
Absolutely great take my man!
@@niklassrk Exactly! Papa Roach gave us the aggressive teenage cry for help. The feeling of desperately wanting someone to notice just how much you're hurting and not knowing who or where to turn.
Falling In Reverse gave us the adult resignation of knowing where and who to turn to, but being too afraid (having gone on for so long with this feeling) to turn to anyone. Feeling trapped with these feelings of depression and anxiety, wanting to fall apart and get help, but telling yourself to put yourself back together (as you can see in the video with the buildings falling apart then reversing at the end) just to go through it all again the next day.
All 3 versions of this song hit me hard especially cuz I have ties to suicide big time cuz I almost took my own life 5 years ago subconsciously I've never touched a gun since that day
Knox your reactions and reflections also hit a different note level than anyone else. The song hits hard enough, then you add so much more depth.
was the earth not the same as watch the world burn. But this one he took back the flames. It is as you said the deinfition of and angel and demon holding one body lol.
@noodlewater12 I said that on the original video this is a continuation of watch the world burn as if he has went thru what demons he was fighting in watch the world burn
I love both versions and it's awesome to realize that the song takes two paths. In the original, there is a palatable sense of rage/anger and finality but in this version you get hurt, reflection, and someone begging to be heard. It's awesome to have different results from the same lyrics
Perfectly said!
The real genius is how deep these lyrics hit from Papa Roach. 23 years old but the lyrics are still relevant. Timeless, real emotion that Ronnie brought to us in another tone. Amazing song. Amazing cover. Mental health matters.
Wow. When you said 23 years it made me realize how old I really am 😂 I remember when the song first dropped, I love the original but Ronnie absolutely killed this song I get chills every time I listen to it
@@BFMV34002 I know the feeling, I was in highschool when it came out. Crazy to think it was 23 years ago.
I went to the falling in reverse / papa roach concert a couple months ago when they were doing their rockzilla tour. The lead singer of papa roach actually got very real between songs, talking about depression, how good it is to be alive, and dedicating songs to people going through hard times. There's a ton of emotion and energy when they're on stage, that gets lost with the aggressive style recording of this song.
So after touring with them, I can see why Ronnie would get inspired and think of doing the song this way.
Beautiful version of this song, I love how Ronnie also brought the world back to normal after it was burned down from his last single
Can we all agree we need Ronnie to a whole album of reimagining! Now all I can think about what would he do with my favorite Scars! He has me all emotional again! Jacoby, thank you for writing ✍️ a powerful song 🎶 and for Ronnie showing all the raw emotion of the lyrics, it’s been on repeat!
How about like a rock opera production that has reimagined songs? How awesome would that be?
Yes yes yes I need to absolutely need to hear that!!!
One shot has an angel cello player weeping, showing someone did care. Amazing song.
This version of the song had me in tears this version hit me way more than Papa Roach's version especially the lyrics
I agree!
I think it just comes down to personal preference. I preferred the anger in papa roach especially in context of the lyrics. The anger was intentional from his past and the blame he placed on himself for being in a place of despair. But this version is great but I prefer heavier music
yes clearly, this version made me aware of the lyrics that I was singing without real interer
@@alyrr73 yeah it made me realise how deep the song really is don't get me wrong the original is classic but I get lost in the guitars in the original version where as with this version I'm not distracted
My take is that the original will always be great but this captures the lyrics for what they truly are and that gives us a masterpiece.
This one is like Chris Cornell covering Billie Jean. You're left with no option but to hone in on the lyrical and emotional content of the song. Ronnie conveyed the utter desperation and despair of the lyrics to Last Resort. Beautiful redition.
Same thing with Hurt by Johnny Cash vs the original from Nine Inch Nails
Hits hard emotionally. I grew up with this song, and seeing Ronnie flip it... just amazing.
Growing up with this song I couldn’t ever really hear a different version of it but this was an absolute masterpiece👏
Same! I usually do not like covers of iconic songs but this was pure gold! Ronnie is absolutely amazing!
This did it for me. Last resort is one of the songs that helped me survive my younger years. I’m 35 years old and have many scars from when I was 13. Hiding them with watches from my mom on the way to school, getting tattoos to try and cover them up. Ronnie really is on a different level and I’m so proud of what he is doing.
Brings to mind Doctor Who and Vincent Van Gough:
“He transformed the pain of his tormented life into ecstatic beauty. Pain is easy to portray, but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world, no one had ever done it before.”
I love how despite being a Reimagined of someone else's song. He made it roll into his musical Universe, The fact that the music video takes place after "Watch the world burn" is so poetic
He is so good to ad emotions to his voice. He really make you feel how deep the lyrics are.
I dont understand how some people can say he isn't talented. He is incredibly talented.
He is a one of a kind talent that can sing, sing operatic style, falsetto, scream..then to rap he butt off. Ppl like to be keyboard warriors. I got a comment that his music is “ 💩 “…. I replied we all won’t agree but what was it that they didn’t like. I got the same emoji. Some have just made up their minds no matter what. I was called low IQ…I left it cuz I’m
Not
Wasting my time on someone who can’t explain themselves and name call
@@candi_renee_28 he really is😊
Knox has the best breakdowns
Every time 💯🔥💕
Lorna Shore has better breakdowns
The original is an iconic anthem for a lot of us. Ronnie's on a whole other level, IMO. The songs and reimaginations he's dropping right now are...unreal. I saw him in NYC last Friday and the show was truly an amazing experience. Your reviews are truly top tier, happy you checked this out.
MSG.....I was there
@@ryanplisga6598 phenomenal show
I think we are witnessing a new form of music right now, you see artist like Ren, Ronnie and NF, even Eminem making these inner battle songs. They take the depression, anger, fear and then towards the end turn it into hope, pride and power! It's a wonderful mix and I am fuhking here for it. Obviously these hit hard for many people, myself included. When I was watching the crumbling of the buildings, the symbolism is powerful. It's like when my world felt like it was crumbling then it stopped and you you rebuild it! It's just powerful, the aggressive power is the key. No longer do I feel as depressed, I feel more fuhking angry, at myself mainly for allowing this to progress and beat me down for so long. Anyways great reaction Knox, love your channel!
Absolutely amazing arrangement! The song is so iconic that it almost seemed like an impossible task to take it on but Ronnie not only took the challenge, he made it his own. Also kudos to the graphics team on the video...they mastered Unreal Engine 5 lol. Incredible video!
Sean Rooney composed and orchestrated this and FIR's previous reimagined songs so he deserves the praise :)
Anyone else get emotionally devestated while listening to this song? I felt this type of emotion in 2020 when I seriously contemplated leaving forever. This song encapsulated my feelings perfectly
I feel it now
. ..I Desperately Need to Go. Desperately.
@@robynmawer769i hope you’re doing okay. i know what it feels like so much. we can get through it
@@colorinmymoods Still here. Still Fighting..thank you, I never expected a reply. I Sincerely Thank You💜💕💜
I never heard this cover song till I was driving home from work this afternoon in a thunderstorm and it came on the radio. My work day was a bit rough today. I wasn't expecting this song to be this emotional. Tears streamed down my face as I listened to it. It was just what I needed. Just a simple cry that was buried in my soul. This cover is one of the best I've heard.
The original makes me want to hit a punching bag, this makes me want to weep. Both a way of releasing emotion, but in very different manners. Just like these two versions.
fave reactor by a mile. the way you analyze, empathize, humanize and strip down artists and their beautiful creations is immense
it's the city of watch the world burn the first shot is the part where the beds surround it, I love this chronology that he does to represent how he rebuilds everything in his own way
Great reaction! Ronnie has highlighted the amazingly sad Papa Roaches lyrics to another level. 😢
i love that it's a really emotional song, (this version actually made me cry) - but in the video he's healing the world from the aftermath of Watch the World Burn. I LOVE THIS GUY SO MUCH
As someone with a pretty strong mental illness, this version of this song and this video is the perfect way to describe it to people who ask how it feels. I am thankful he made this.
This version makes me feel things I never have listening to the PR version. The way Ronnie sings the song you can feel the torment the person was feeling that Jacoby was writing about.
I wish there were more songs out there like this. Songs with this modern chords and lyrics and melodies, but they have this epic feel and grand scale because of the orchestra
It took me until 2023... being 33... (and admittedly never looking at the lyrics) to figure out that the lyrics weren't "If I took my life tonight, chances are dynamite"
It would have been so cool if they could have played this live. It's still surreal to me, that I actually got a chance to see them this year. Ronnie is an artistic God, and it shows in how much he puts into literally every aspect of his career
You need to listen to some Bloodywood! They are an Indian Metal band. The song Dana Dan (bring the beat down) is about defending the ladies we love.
It's hard af, turn on captions.
This song is difficult to sing, but Ronnie nailed it especially the “cut my life” part, just perfect arrangement.
I know they’re good friends but Jacoby must be proud.
This reminds me of a really good song by Architects called Doomsday who did the exact same thing, and I honestly think their Piano Reprise is so beautiful
I heard this on the radio in the car this morning, and I am obsessed. I love the reinterpretation and artistry.
Knowing that this song is hitting people as hard as it’s hitting me just adds to the perfection of it… I haven’t been this entranced by a song in a long time…
Waited all damn day yesterday for your reaction haha. You nailed it again bro and your message at the end is SPOT ON! Music is the one thing saving my life. I grew up loving this song and hearing this version hits the feels so much harder. Got to see both Papa Roach and Falling in reverse together last fall.... I WISH they would have done this one together! WOW!
I saw them during Rockzilla 2 back Feb 5th 2023. Amazing
@@candi_renee_28 Hell Yea! Ronnie knows how to put on a show
He nailed this. He's made it as powerful as JC's cover of Hurt. (For me)
Exactly!
The Magical artistry of Ren and Ronnie has reawakened my love of music! In all my 56 years... ive never seen such artists who can do it all so well, while crossing genre's with ease!!!
Beautiful react, Knox, as always! This lad's vocals are serious. I can hear so many different tones in each note. He's very talented! And this is such an emotional piece. Phew!
Peace! xXx
When I first heard this and saw the video, I felt it so deeply. To me, this video is a representation of walking through the darkness of depression and anxiety I experience every single day. It is eye opening.
Thank you!!! I cant stop listening to this and i appreciate these appreciative reactions.
been having this song on repeat, when i first saw the video and heard the song got my emotions flowing, he never disappoints, just going up for Ronnie
That dude has chops - perfectly said “if an angel and a demon were trapped in one body” 😮
Loved your reaction Knox. This version is so beautiful, I love it.
Been looking forward to your reaction to this 😊
This is so fkn good! I'm so impressed with Ronnie. And awesome reaction as always Knox!
The greatest thing about music is that it's open to interpretation no matter what and everyone can interpret the same lyrics differently. In this case, the same song delivered differently can mean 2 completely different things. This song was written to convey a cry for help. Papa Roach performed it in a way that conveyed they were angry with their lives and didn't want it anymore. Radke delivers it as a beaten human to is desperate for a reason to live. Music is the only language that is universally understood no matter where you live or who you are.
Thank you Knox! This made me have chills and tears. It was beautiful and so well done. Jakob from Papa Roach loved this and was so excited for this version. He even made comments that this song is soundtrack for a movie. I loved watching him support Ronnie. Much love❤❤❤
Phenomenal review!! You truly felt it like I did!! Absolute work of art 🤯
Hands down the BEST breakdown reaction 🖤 excellent job
Another great reaction! Ronnie is one of the best singers of this time, and he nailed this again😌
Loved it, your reactions are always to notch 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 😍
I was anxiously anticipating this…and it delivered(as you always do). Love it.
You are THE best reactor on the internet. Your breakdowns are so good. I don't comment often on videos, but I felt like that needed to be said. Thank you for what you do.
Dude knox ur jus real af my dude it an inspiration as well brother keep doing it right we all behind ya 100%
You're breakdown is on point and Ronnie Radke is a musical, emotional, and visual masterpiece embodied into a person. He's so insightful and raw, with the ability to tap into the notes and melodies that make us all feel his vision. Phenomenal song, and amazing video to accompany it. Great reaction as well.
It’s insane what Ronnie does. How he can express emotion through this vocals is on another level. At the end you can almost hear him gritting his teeth out of sadness. The statues crying is so symbolic and everything crumbling around him…this is a true masterpiece.
Another great song from Ronnie. I love these theatrical , emotional songs. Great job Knox
Thank you for introducing me to this it was amazing
I clearly need to listen to this with good headphones hah. Awesome reaction as always Knox!
Ronnie's music is the perfect example of Good and evil being caught in the same person and battling between each other 😭❤
First time adding to the comment section.
I remember when me and my friends first heard this, and how hype we got when listening or watching the music vid.
Now “Hearing” /Seeing this wow.. not going to lie caught a tear in the eye for a moment shedding a whole new vibe on it.
Much love and respect for what you bring and we enjoy
Couldn’t wait anymore for your reaction ❤
The way you explained the feeling that depression brings had me in tears. But not tears of sadness. The hardest thing when you're in it is believing that there are others who have felt exactly the same...or worse. I think it was brave of you to admit you've been there. Thank you for that 💜
I suffer from an anxiety disorder, major depressive disorder and PTSD. I was raped at 15, and assaulted. I’m 23 now, and I’m much better now, but this song makes me cry it makes me think of how hard I had it. I isolated myself for 3 months, slept for over 13 hours a day. I’m finally medicated now. I still struggle sometimes, but this song just made me remember how much pain I was in.
Thanks for jumping on this so quick I wanted to see your reaction first
First, I just found your channel yesterday. I appreciate the talent, and also, your reaction video provide some much more detail into why things are so impressive that those reactions are impressive. Thank you. Also, this version of LR by FIR made me shed a tear and I am a 47 year old military veteran. They crushed it! Ronnie impresses me more and more with every song.
I love both versions so much but for two totally different reasons. One for more of an angry, anxious depression, the other for the really low, deep melancholic depression.... If that makes sense... Hard to explain... I cant get enough of this one though 🖤
Wow . . . Just, wow! I didn’t realise I was actually holding my breath at that end build up! Poignant and powerful all rolled into one.
Great reaction vid, as always 👏🏼 for me, you’re the best 😁
Knox you are legend! Your reactions are epic, the Best Of The Best! You have so much talent and I love how you break down every single bar and how you keep it real. I appreciate you and have mad respect for you.❤✌🏻
Here for it!! Ronnie is back!! Masterpiece in all levels 🔥🤘
Came home from work and opened you tube and seen knox and had to watch first!
I got here INSTANTLY, looking forward to this one man
I never thought I would be describing this track as beautiful but here we are.
No words.
Great reaction.
With 💕 from 🇫🇮.
This version of the song is truly a masterpiece, Ronnie is mad talented. Knox your reactions are always top class as well, and thank you for the bit at the end, I really needed to hear those words 🙏 😢
You are one of the top reactors for me on this song, your breakdown is great
Love your reactions almost as much as I love your music!
Its amazing seeing knox so stunned.keep up the good work knox
This is everything I've waited for!!!
Knox, you always say you read all the comments, so I hope you see this one.
I desperately needed to hear the words of encouragement and that I am not the burden that I fear I am. Thank you for actually speaking from the heart and not just going through the motions. You have no idea how badly I needed this today, so thank you. Sincerely, thank you.
It hits completely different.. from a very aggressive song.. to a sad cry for help.. Ronnie my friend.. you are a true genius.. thank you for the music.. Knox. You're one of my favorites bro.. thank you for the reactions
best reaction of this song I've watched.. and I've watched a lot of them this week!
Thank you! I've watched quite a few reaction videos to this song, and no one has called this song haunting (exactly what I thought the first time I heard it), but finally someone else called it that, too. Grew up with Papa Roach's version, loved it forever, but this rendition feels as if it's splitting your soul open and exposing what truly lies within.
Great reaction and commentary. This reimagining is Epic.
The depth and Knowledge you have on bars breakdown is Amazing. it's always interesting to see you breaking down it's meaning and explaining it in detail especially with Falling In Reverse!
Thank you for the reaction, Knox ❤! Ronnie's choice to approach this song with a more subdued instrumentation and emotional vocals really sells the true meaning to the song Last Resort. You have no choice but to hear the lyrics and realize just how despairing and depressing they are.
Just amazing. Reaction and song. We need reactions to Knox's music.
it gives you heavenly chills man. Bravo... 👏👏👏👏
He went in the studio, made this, one take, one version, that says everything about this man! He made a masterpiece with this one for sure!
Amazing reaction as always knox.
I love how in watch the world burn he destroyed everything and burnt the world and in this song he rebuilt and restored the world. It was like the inner battles that everyone suffers. We can all destroy but we can all rebuild.
Ronnie is the violin and saviour we all need.
I’ve been waiting for this reaction. The World Is Literally Falling In Reverse, beautiful. Ronnie is so magically talented it’s ridiculous. We need a whole album like this. If you didn’t catch it, the last few seconds he is reversing what he did back on Watch The World Burn.
This music is incredible. As always, I cherish your reactions and words!
This is the first time I've seen you react to a song that wasn't rap. Thanks so much for putting this one out!
The screaming at the end, I had goosebumps and tears listening to this all at once. Bravo on the reaction, you nailed it
