  • The African Union Mission for Somalia (AMISOM) Force Commander, Maj. Gen. Fred Mugisha has asked the world to support the Somalia people in order to bring peace and stability to the war torn country.
    Speaking views day after an al Shabaab suicide bomber, went off near a government building in the center of the city in the K4 area near the Ministry of Education where students were sitting for a foreign scholarship examination.
    The Army General said that the al Shabaab activity at terrorism and their deal will not take long, addind that the AMISOM force will do their best to protect the civilian citizens of Somalia.

    According to available information, a truck bomb loaded with drums of fuel exploded after the vehicle rammed a checkpoint outside a compound housing several ministries of Somalia's interim government, in the K4 area. Reportedly, the Ministry of Education was registering students for scholarships offered by the Turkish government at the time.
    Mj. Gen Mugisa asked the international community to work had to help the besieged Government of Somalia.

    An armed al shabaab Kidnapped a French National Marie Dedieu, 66, early last Saturday from Manda Island in the Lamu archipelago, Kenyan south coast and fled by sea.     The African Union Mission for Somalia (AMISOM) is planning to strengthen its troops in Somalia with additional of 3,000 more before this year but as per now there are 9000 troops in Mogadishu.
