There are two sounds the AirTags can emit, that you need to pay extra attention to and know what they mean! AirTag Stalking Sound, and AirTag Ping sound.

i have been hearing this in my bag for a while but I've been so confused because I could never find where the sound was coming from I looked on my moms amazon to see a package I had bought with her prime and she bought one around the time I first started hearing it (we don't have a good relationship and my mom and dad are abusive so I ran away for safety 2 times) I still can't find it and my bad doesn't have any bumps I'm so confused I need to find it

I just got a notification saying that one was following me but I think one of my neighbors has one. After getting the notification I was able to ping the air tag in order to find it but I heard nothing. The only reason I don’t think it’s a huge problem is because I live near a college campus and I’m a student. I’m still gonna monitor the situation but I figured this could help with your situation
My boyfriend placed an air tag very hidden inside my car. Thanks to my friends I phone it was detected and we found it. I went to a hotel and placed it inside the restroom. He got caught, ended up breaking up with him. No trust.

I’m sorry too. But for anyone else reading, that’s not *just* about trust. It’s about domination, power, and control. That makes it not just disappointing, but exceptionally creepy. Because the audio levels where way to loud for the AirTag sounds when you listened on a loud volume with headphones, and it really hurt your ears… didn’t want to cause anyone damage, discomfort or pain😊. And I noticed that first after it was uploaded.

Ok- I've been hearing the second stalking sound for the last two weeks and don't own an AirTag. Just a pair of AirPods new gen. I am freaking out a little- do AirPods Pro cases make this sound? My iPhone has not notified me of anything with me. I've also heard it at home when no bags or devices are moving.
Did you figure this out? I've been hearing it too but I figured out it was the cats collar that I am watching for a week lol. It just rings like 5 times in a row every 8 hours I think because it's so far away from its owner.

Smoke detector with a low battery also beeps intermittently.
I heard this yesterday inside of my car while I was with a friend and she thought were it phone but today I received a message that says “Airtag detected near You”. We were at the mall so is very suspicious… I already switch off “share location” but I don’t know if that’s enough. I was checking my car and I don’t find anything. My god this’s so scary.
Report it to the nearby police station as soon as possible.
You have to get an app to detect them!

My own air tags randomly chirp! Is my wife logging in my apple acct and using them to track me? Why else would they randomly chirp? They’re pretty new/battery is NOT low. And it’s very random when I hear it.
If you use the tracker app to sense AirTags near you you can make them sound. It could be someone nearby if you are near other people.
Oh thank fuck finally. That sounds been driving me batty for weeks, randomly chiming quietly. It’s the cats airtag.

Yeah, this is really annoying. I have an airtag in my wallet just in case I lose it. But it keeps randomly making one of these sounds. It might be because it's registered with my wife's iPhone, but it makes this thing a real pain since it could start making noises at any time.

There shouldn’t be any sound unless it’s triggered by the owner. It’s very annoying. Just one example: I sent my suitcase away for a week for repair. Rimowa told me they could hear an AirTag in it. I didn’t even know it would do that. I think this stalking thing is exaggerated. If someone really wants to track you they won’t use an AirTag.

There’s been no evidence ever presented that AirTags have been used to commit crimes and if Apple is so worried about someone using it to stalk someone else, they could send a notification to your phone instead of emitting a sound from the AirTag itself. It does nothing but cause irritation and as we can see, this would actually be a better solution because this imaginary stalker could just disable the sound on it.
There had literally been lawsuits, this information had been in the media for over an year! Just get informed instead of doubling down with your wrong assumptions. Do you know how to use Google? The proof is literally in this video comments section, multiple people have been stalked. You must be a stalker to be bothered by this safety feature, there is no other explanation.
Uh, yeah, that's exactly what they use. Cars are being tracked and then stolen later. And they'll track them to your house, so guess who is breaking in. And...they are being used to use cars as drug mules. For that matter they can do the same to people's bags.

These sounds are too high pitched for older people - the very people that need these tags.
Just take the speaker coil out then it wont ever make noise again, before you tape it to someones car : ^ )
