there is a note next to a dead golem that says "keep the fire pots well clear when the golems furnace is ablaze - and never let me catch you with pots that produce flaming whirlwinds, for goodness sake" there might be an actual weakness to these things.
The best strategy so far is to use a high stagger weapon, as the staggering him makes the most damage. you can easily jump his normal one foot attack. when the two foot jump is channeling, you have to ride away tho
FTH builds can use Ancient Dragons Lightning Strike to destroy his poise during the 3 fire stepping attack. just stay close and he will use, jump the stepping and 2 or 3 charged ADLS will make him fall while doing a high dmg too

You can knock him over too and hit his heart like a normal giant and remove almost half of his health
yes, the 3rd stagger is the big stagger where you can riposte them

I fucking hate this thing so much. I get him staggered once but every time he gets up he just grabs me even when I’m UNDER HIM
3 staggers to completely knock him over
