- This is the California lilac superbloom of 2024 at South Lake Park, San Marcos, California. The blooms should last for about 6 weeks, so there should still be time in April 2024 to see this spectacle.
It’s beautiful ❤ thank you for sharing this video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Did u take a couple cuts for urself to root at ur place so u can have some lilac my friend? 👋🏼🐻
No, these bushes get too big. Luckily many of the hills nearby are covered in California lilac.
Wow beautiful thanks for the heads up!
Never been able to grow a lilac in fla or Alabama ,wonder if this type would grow??.
I haven't tried growing California lilac myself, but online sources say this doesn't do well if it is watered a lot in summer, which could be a problem in Florida or Alabama. I think it should be doable, this seems like a very tough plant.
On the east coast, lilac bushes have a lot more leaves and bigger blooms. So interesting to see the dryer climate version.
California lilac is not a true lilac, so it is not of the genus Syringa like the true Eastern United States lilac species.
How does it smell?
I didn't really smell much of anything even when I put my nose to the blooms.
