If your thinking of coming to Prime Inc or want to get your CDL license. I honestly believe Prime is a solid company to start your trucking journey. Rex never had engine problem before untill semi wash station did engine wash know like u said probably water got in ECU its best do ur own engine bsy & 19:07 I was jamming to beat while working that's good traffic music
Here’s a suggestion, I’m sure you know that you can live view a GoPro. So purchase a magnetic GoPro mount, start up your GoPro live view, stick the camera somewhere on the dome lid cover or on the catwalk rail, and tada you now have a top view of the trailer when backing up
I don’t know what that big black spot on your windshield is right above your steering wheel but I’ve seen the exact same spot on a few of your videos and it really messes with my OCD 😂😂
I help run a shop next to the Blue Beacon in Walcott Iowa, we always tell drivers to never, ever, get an engine wash. Too many computers on today’s trucks, we’ve had to go over there and fix trucks that had an ECM soaked by high pressure water. Or if we can’t fix it, they end up having the truck towed to a dealer. Most connectors on those ECMs can barely handle garden hose water pressure. Hopefully it’s nothing too serious, hoping for the best Rex!
The one thing I've learned to not take for granted when trucking; Is to take those nice showers when possible. There's just nothing like it. A few things that I was taught about engine wash. Only cleaned the engine when engine has been turned off and is completely cool, use a safe cleaning product and never EVER spray water with high pressure. I hope this info helps others down the road. Thanks Rex for another awesome video! Be safe!
More problems to new modern engines are do to pressure washing. To many sensors. They are water resistance not pressure washing. DO NOT PRESSURE WASH YOUR ENGINE. A regular garden hose with a fine mist and a engine wash, not degreaser.
I've loaded glycerin 2 times at the Hudson Tank terminal. The guys over there are pretty cool and an easy process you just have to get a picture of the chart off the side of the tank which is difficult. Also make sure they close all your valves.
Hey Rex: A reminder, whenever you are trucking to the northeast, we get sporadic severe t storms with extreme gusts, and hail and lots of rain which will only last 1 hr or so. the day can pretty as anything and in a blink of eye the heavens open up. it usually starts round march and goes till sept or october. then you'll deal with tons and tons of snow.
Bay Bridge, Chesapeake Bay Bridge, GW, whatever. We had a system we could remotely check on the engine. Prime probably has it. If it is anything serious? They'll tell you to stop and take it to a shop. That's the good side of all that technology in your engine. Down side is the lights on and loss of power.
I'm also a tanker yanker (food grade) and always look forward to your videos. I was wondering if the check engine light went away and if you were considering going food grade.
Yes both engine lights are now off, truck running normal now 😂 ran food grade for 3 weeks about 6 months ago didn’t work for me. Home time wasn’t good compared to inedible
@@truckingwithrexFrom someone looking to start pulling tankers, what was the difference in how often do you get home between the two? And which pays better?
@@MrBigR928 I ran 3 straight weeks on food grade without going home. Asked to go home so I could switch back to inedible. I averaged $2300 after all expenses on the food grade side. The inedible side at that time was averaging $2100 also go home every 7-10days without even asking because prime has a tank wash in Springfield they own and we have a huge contract for inedible out of Aurora MO which is 55min away from my apartment! Hope this helps 🤞🤙💪
That Petro in Girard was my favorite truck stop when I was over the road. I went there for the first time one month into my career and was amazed at all the stuff it had. I loved every chance I had to stop there.
Rex have you thought about getting a semi truck OBD scan tool? You will know the issues with the engine lights, will be able to clear, or know the part that needs to be replaced? Usually $140 on up to $700 price ranges.
I look forward to your videos. I’m eventually going to make the switch from dry van to tanker. I’m not currently with Prime, but am thinking long and hard on making the switch. Currently I’m getting between 2,500 to 3,500 miles a week. Do you get good miles with Prime? Keep up the great videos!
Don't ever ever have streakin beacon wash your engine that is what happens especially with the newer Freightliner trucks to many sensors I drive a 2024 cascadia high roof I just leave the engine dirty let the terminal do it
Right now I'm having the annoying Beeping air loss sensor issue my air is fine but it'll beep for 15 miles going down the road before it stops it did it for 30 minutes yesterday from Pine Bluff Wyoming
Summerset and it's Son-no-co. Say it faster. Somerset! Sunoco! Anytime you're around the eastern shore of MD, DC area and Baltimore area rt695,97,95, etc etc. You're in a crowded part of the world. Ocean City, MD was just ahead of you
Just curious. By using Prime's card are you getting a discount? Could you use your own mileage credit card for fuel and maint, etc and still be eligible for any discounts that Prime has negotiated nationwide? Thinking for making trucking my second career. Learning tons from your channel.
Hey, I have been watching your videos because i'm interested in going back over the road again with Prime Tanker Division after over five years out the game. They're requiring a "refresher" training of 35K miles. It seems like you kind of just puddle jump around and 35K miles would take forever via Tanker..lol...whats your average miles per week? If you don't mind be asking.
The last 8 weeks I’ve averaged just over 1900 miles per week. With the refresher they add your miles and your trainers together. So you’d get around 5,000 miles per week with a trainer. Guessing about 4-5 weeks depending. Hope this helps!
I use the T-Mobile 5G gateway internet $50 a month, mine is unlimited data! Just plug and play. Depending on your area T-Mobile (might) cap your data 100-300gb.
Blue Beacon blew the coating off the frame of my truck in 2020. They then lied and denied they did it. Unqualified staff that lie to mitigate their negligence. I will never go there again.
Im not a truck driver, however i was hoping to get some advice. I'm going on my first solo, long distance drive of 300mi soon. How do I keep from getting tired or losing concentration whilst driving? My car is 2010, i have aux but no cruise control and very few other modern features. Is there anything i should check on my car before setting off?
Keep your phone mounted away from you or keep in your pocket to minimize distractions. I would check all my fluids, oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, radiator fluid. Also I would set all my personal vehicle tires to about 36psi and keep a set of jumper cables! Hope this helps!
Gotta be careful washing these new engines with sooooo many electronics on them🙄 I would ask freightliner what should you cover up when your pressure washing the engine.🤔 Couldn't hurt🤷🏿♂️
Please can anyone tell me? I honestly i don’t watch this channel alot maybe once a year im a tanker hazmat but no longer wanna renew my hazmat, is primer no hazardous material? Just liquid or do you need your hazmat?
I try to do it asap (ain’t trying to hangout at these receivers all day). I was trained to ALWAYS strap because it’s possible the hoses can disconnect from the pressure. 🤞🤙

I never get the engine wash don’t need water sprayed in there. Bad things happen sometimes.
Definitely learning as I go lol
A connection to your MPU got wet. Drive it, get the
underhood temps up & that will evap the moisture.

17:35 is my neck of the woods
Always power wash the engine myself. And that does not include the wiring.
Note to self ,no blue beacon.
What exactly is digest?
Digest is a liquid product that is used for flavoring the pebble grains in dry bag dog food
I go to that Smuckers in Meadville, PA, all the time. In fact, I have to go there tomorrow. I drive for Cowan (green trucks), and we drop off pallets.
Nice!!!
Turbo actuator?
Let's get it

Went straight to lease after getting my CDL with Prime
What Gps are you using?
Truckers Path App on my phone and the Garmin DEZL 1010
That Bay Bridge to/from Eastern Shore is sketchy enough in a 4 wheeler. Gotta be far worse in a semi. Third world infrastructure.
Prime is the real deal as long you don't buy one of their trucks.

Zip ties are your friend
Lol yeah I have some in my bag but they are flimsy, will need some larger & better quality ones!
Why didn't you get the trailer washed. Doesn't prime pay for it any more
Tankers have to be cleaned at a tank wash not blue beacon. If I had them wash it prime will NOT reimburse me
prime trucks don't have any power anyway

Yes exterior wash only
They probably got a censer wet when your codes say electric it most likely a sensor ap sensor or fuel sensor will do that
