Die Hohe Salve bietet Richtung Söll auf 1.829 Metern einen grandiosen Blick zum Wilden Kaiser. Die Panoramalage eines der schönsten Aussichtsberge Tirols ist allein schon ein Bergerlebnis für sich. Doch wer das Hexenwasser unter sich hat, lässt sich auch am Gipfel nicht lumpen. Da heißt der sprechende Salvenriese die Ankömmlinge bei der Bergstation willkommen.
Der Name "Salve" bedeutet übrigens auf Lateinisch "Sei gegrüßt" ! Rund um den Gipfel führt ein ebenso spannender wie unterhaltsamer Rundgang, die Besucher auf dem Sonnenuhrenweg entlang 15 Stationen auf die Geschichte der Zeitmessung und der Sonnenstände zu verschiedenen Tages- und Jahreszeiten hinweisen. Da der Wind auf den Bergen ebenfalls eine große Rolle spielt, lädt die Windharfe auf der Hohen Salve alle Wanderer zur Rast ein, um ihr zu lauschen.
Am Gipfel steht auch das Salvenkirchlein, dessen Erwähnung in der Geschichte bis ins Jahr 1589 zurückgeht. Der Besuch der höchst gelegenen Wallfahrtskirche Österreichs auf der Hohen Salve lässt sich wunderbar mit einer Wanderung in der Wilder Kaiser-Region verbinden.
