I'm currently living with my parents & I'm going through the process of looking for social housing here in the UK. Unfortunately, finding a place through social housing can be very slow, but I'm slowly putting boxes together for things that I'll need when I move like cleaning products & stuff for each room so I don't have to go out & buy it all at once when I find somewhere. Althpugh the process is slow, putting these boxes together is good for my mental health. Unfortunately, my parents aren't healthy parents & we have nightmare neighbours, so it really helps to actually be able to do something towards moving.
That's a good idea. Just to do something to get ready in the meantime. I might need to do that too. Right now I don't even really know what our plans are, and house prices and mortgage rates are so high, we need them to come down. I'm sorry the situation with your parents isn't the best, and about the neighbors!
@@MommyEtc Thanks. It definitely helps to be able to do something towards getting my own place. I get the house prices thing. Since our government allowed private landlords to put rents up by a huge amount, a lot of people either have to wait & save up to move, move back in with parents, or apply for social housing. It's so difficult. I get your frustration.
We sold our house and are staying here until we figure out what to do next. We are thinking about moving out of state for cheaper cost of living…but I also don’t want to leave our family so I’m not sure what we are going to do.
