Great advice! 👍😀 I remember once being on my uppers in Phnom Penh. No income, no prospect, and 19 dollars to my name. I remember sort of 'discovering' this in my hostel and I was in utter disbelief. Where had all my money gone? I swear I had thousands what seemed like a few days ago. Have I been robbed? Naturally, within the course of a few hours think and a rising soberness I worked out in my mind that yes, I had managed to blow through 6 grand in 6 weeks in SEA. A feat that to this day is still hard to accomplish staying in hostels and eating street food but I managed it back in 2004 lol. Hat in hand so to speak, I luckily snagged a cash in hand English teaching gig. At one point early on when I went broke I actually slept rough on the streets of PP rather than make the dreaded call home to tell my parents I was already broke and homeless lol. But after spending the second night of homelessness in a park during a torrential downpour and then having to show up to teach English at 7 am the next morning to 30 screaming 5 year olds I got over it, called my parents got a couple hundred pounds sent over and slowly began to rebuild, but it would be another ten years before I once again had 6 thou all at once. Hard lessons learned...

The threshold is actually depending on wich counrty you're from. The laws change from time to time so better check what your immigration form says.

I’m going to Australia to work in 2018, my idea was to work In the farms for 6months then travel for 6months and repeat for a second year Visa, this way I can save around £300-500 per week while working with housing included OR work 3 months save money, travel 3 months then work 3 months then travel for 3 months for the year

My girlfriends Aussie so I plan on living with her during my time there as I’ve been given free accommodation (cooking and teaching guitar lessons to pay rent haha). Therefore, I’d be staying in one place cos it’s not like me and the misses aren’t gonna go exploring anyway.

thanks, very informative! i go to Sydney in December, plan to have 2 weeks to do some exploring then want to do the farm work straight away, whilst doing that i'll look for jobs, totally aware it may be hard to find a job straight away. However not in the position financially to save aud 1000 - going to save as much as poss and not be silly. I'll save as much as possible though ! :)

I really want to get a working holiday visa for Canada but the one thing I can’t gauge is how accommodation works and it’s stressing me out😱

can you have more than one working holiday visa? For example spend a year in Japan and then the year after Australia, then the third year Korea etc.

Are you allowed to work a remote job while on a working holiday visa. For example, working for Canadian company remotely in France while on working holiday visa.

When my main reason for going is gonna be making money to save up (want to build a tiny home, where I live) ... Would cattle station work be something to consider?

Hi! Great video with some solid advice. I'm planning to do some of what you recommended. I'm doing Asia for 4 months and then doing the Austrailia work holiday visa. Curious what you though of the idea of doing my 88 days of farm work first and that way can do some major saving since ideally it would be a stay on the farm type of situtation. Then go see some places and decide where to work next?

Would you recommend travelling Australia first, like say east coast, to see which part you would like to go back to work at later on?

I just heard about the nenkin ( pension ) that you have to pay when you register to a city hall when you arrive in Japan. Do you realy need to pay it even if you're on a working holiday visa ? I've plan to work for about 600 000 during this year. But the nenkin would mean i have to work 2 month extra just to pay this thing.

    Hey Thanks for your opinions.
Where in Australia did you end up staying and enjoyed the most?
Where in Australia did you get along with people the best?
I wish to check out Australia myself hopefully on a working holiday visa, thanks.

Any advice for people turning 30/31 who still want to do working holidays? This system sometimes makes you feel that you are already too old to travel when you actually aren't. =/

Not sure if you're still following this but they upped the age to 35! And also if you do 6months of agro work in your second year holiday, you can apply for a third year :)

    Hey,
I think I really like the farm work
Is there a possibility to work between farms over the country my entire visa time?
    And do you recommend it?
    Do they pay well?

    Hello Scotty!
What did you do about your accommodation? See, I realize that paying between 35-55 UAD$ a night is not gonna be worth it at all, and even if you land a job with minimum wage, you'll still lose about half of your weekly earnings. That is without counting in the 39% of taxes you have to pay as well.
Did you do hostels? Or did you find a flat to live in? I realize WFA is also an option, which is one I'm probably going to use in the beginning as it sounds like a good choice while you're looking for other jobs with a salary
