For those newer style delfield units. From factory, they cycle the evaporator fans on and off. Inside the control section you’re able to jump out the fans and have them run 24/7. Customers complained a lot back whenever Delfield decided to go to their r290 units. I’ve seen the same thing with True as well, true is slightly more complicated to get the fans to run 24/7 but it’s doable. Thanks for sharing
Sounds like you have had a long week or something. Grumpin a little more than usual 😂. These videos have never disappointed in all the years i've watched.
I know 😆. Sometimes I just leave in things I normally cut out. It’s a fine balance. You get yelled at if you bitch but sometimes you just don’t care if you piss the world off. 🤟😂
Never like the Kokpak set up for anything. They don't even give you enough room for a Schrader depressor tool either. Always have to give it some manipulation to make room. Those snap disk switches always fail, i see it a lot on the Manitowoc condensers, always go with the adjustable switch when its out of warranty, they will outlast the unit. Good fix Rick. HAPPY EASTER
One thing that i didn't get, when you tried to install the swivel tee, you pumped it down and hooked up the suction hose and u installed it without losing pressure, why was it spraying earlier and not after? I understand that suction was low because of the pump down but what happened to the pressure on the liquid line? It might sound stupid question but i m new to refrigeration and have learned a lot from you! thanks and keep up the good work!!
The place that I pumped it down at was on the receivers liquid valve. The valve I hooked it up at was after that valve. There was no refrigerant there or very little where I put the swivel tee.
get some 90* quick disconnects for the end of your hoses. my dad always used them to minimize refrigerant loss on the screwing on and off of the hoses...
@@HVACRSurvival Did not know that about the 410A, he got out of the contractor business before the 410A became standard. I've seen HVACR Videos use an Appion core depressor tool that might work then. Looks small enough to get into tight spaces and will only allow refrigerant flow one the depressor is screwed down.
@@terranhightower341 i’ve been using those valve core depressor tools recently from Appion and I gotta say I like them a lot, but even though they’re small, you might have a hard time fitting them in certain types of systems.
That freezer had tell tale signs of a bad defrost termination/fan delay control, or that ice was formed while trying to cool the walkin cooler...we will never know, or will we.
Hey great video. Do you have a link for that service wrench. I have been looking for the 7in one for a while, but no one ever tells the dimensions in their description. BtW used your code to get the FIELDPIECE probe set. Thanx.
The suction port placement is just par for the course now, bad design, trash equipment, poor installers on and on and on. Have you ever thought about taking a stationary type job? At least the equipment is yours for good and you can do whatever you need to do to it and customize it
@@HVACRSurvival The call you were at or my company? Lol unsure but we install a lot of those Kolpak condenser/evaps with that control. We are all over the place but mainly NE Ohio
whine whine whine, would you like some cheese? 🤣🤣 couldn't resist the temptation, but yeah, everything is very poorly designed anymore and servicing is not on the list of things in play. 🙄
Love your videos but man you're whiny on this one. It's funny at first but got annoying as it went on. Maybe shoulda stayed home that day or left the camera in the truck.
I think I was an equal opportunity pisser offer on this video. I hopefully didn’t leave anybody out. 😂
just to be sure, you're not found of coldpack, and their engineering, CORRECT ?
I’m just here to hear Rick tell a manufacturer that they suck. lol happy Easter 😂
I try to make a difference.lol
Doing a maintenance video on an ice cream machine would be awesome
Rick please never stop being you! Hope you had a Happy E!
😁 people have never been able to handle the full me. It has to be administered in small doses. Easter was good, had food, family and God time.

Thanks, that’s good to know. I knew the R290 true units did it but wasn’t sure about the Delfield.
Hey hey we make some good shit here in Canada 😂
Rick, Another amazing instructional video! Thanks for sharing ! Be safe !!
I saw those browning belts in your truck. That’s all I ever use anymore , great belts :)
Great video as well !!
That’s the main brand we use here as well. Thanks for watching!

ice cream maintenance would be awesome
Great job has always Rick. Happy Easter
Did this same repair on a kolpak freezer but the low pressure so I had to remount that liquid line to fit the tee on the suction
Needless to say I absolutely laughed and felt your pain when you say it’s an absolute trash design
Good job Rick, Happy Easter.
Happy Easter John!

Those won’t hold up to 410a. I had them, they didn’t last. The ball valves last the longest.

A good idea is to add 50ml of sulphuric acid to the compressor before regassing to reduce corrosion
I don’t understand?
Happy Easter
Love the video as always great work. I want to see maintenance on a ice cream machine
Happy Easter. Good video.
Well, Rick, look at this from the bright side. At least this was easier work than fixing that supermarket coil you've posted recently. 😅

I agree. We will see

Best and easiest to use controller on the market. If you can’t use that one I feel bad for you haha

Great job brother Happy Easter
You're gruff, but lovable. Thanks for the vid. Love your work.
I appreciate that!👍👍🤜🤛😊

those fan cycle controls don't like snow have to put them in a plastic bag to keep blowing snow out I'm in minnesota
Not a fan of Kolpak either. Most of them come with a pre charged lineset that some out of town installers coil up on the roof 🫠😂

Thanks for watching!
You're the man, videos are always entertaining
Happy Easter, wats a good brand for evap coils n condenser units ?
👍💪❄️🇺🇸 Tennessee moonshine. Happy Easter
How do you really feel about Kolpak Nice job as always ... Happy Easter to you & family ... Thx
Where do you get your paint marker from
Amazon or eBay. Whoever is cheaper. Uni-paint blue
Are the new locking gasketed caps ok for hold pressure on low side? I have a stripped schrader port that leaks so must rely on sealed cap. Thx
They usually have a rubber gasket, there is a flair 1/4 to 1/4 fitting that would work that has a new Schrader core or a swivel tee will work.
That's what I use that way the flare seals up against existing port.
good option given situation thx again@@HVACRSurvival
Warm meat is not good 😅. Nice job, Rick!
Brass caps are only good with a brass washer inside.
Thats new to me. I have seen copper flare washers in some.
What are your thoughts on ESP evaporators? Starting to see them way more
It’s the future. It’s fine if you have spare parts.

North Western Ohio

Kolpak owned by Manitowoc or the other way around 🤷🏻♂️ 🗑️ . A good ole Tecumseh or Copeland condensing would’ve been better in my opinion 🤷🏻♂️.
I didn’t look up their history far as who their own by? I agree I’ll take either one of those other condensing any day before this.
Ya those style KOLPAK condensing units are horseshit for serviceability. Bottom of the barrel units
