    G'day David, We upgraded from a 2015 CX5 to a Tig R, we have a 6month old and 3.5yr old and one of the biggest prams on the market and have no issues fitting it in... little less room than the CX5 but still well and truely managable.
    Have to disagree with you about the seats & haptic buttons... We were worried about all the bad reviews but once we took delivery it quickly faded into the background. not once have i "Accidentally" pushed a button like all the reviewers say. On the seats the wife and i find them super comfortable for long trips and plenty supportive if you want to rip up some corners, TBH i think id get annoyed getting in and out of something with more side bolsters, this is our daily, daycare, grocery getter first and foremost.
    You missed one big feature of the Tig R being the redesigned rear diff - the way it drags you out of a corner is so similar to the AYC system in my Evo but this is my Wifes daily driver!! Its incredible how well this thing handles.
    All in all great review!!

      All fair points and it’s good to hear that the seats aren’t as much of an issue long term as I thought they would be. I just think if you’re going to make it the R then do it properly, know what I mean? Appreciate the comment though and thanks for watching 😊

    Great honest review David, well done. I've owned the TigR now for almost 2 months and have just completed a trip of over 2500k's. I couldn't agree more with pretty much everything you've said, particularly the part about the potential to get in to trouble! You have to be very careful indeed with this car!

    The grid edition has some very nice seats , would have been nice if they had those particular seats as an option with leather or alcantara

    Awesome video. Looks fantastic, only wish I could afford one. I have the 2.0TSI R-Line 4 motion and I absolutely love it, but if I had the cash I’d get the R in a flash. Great review , and great beard.

      Thanks very much mate. Honestly I reckon the R-line would be perfect. Unless you “need” the power of the R. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed, and thanks for the beard compliment 😆❤️

    My 2021 Tiguan's transmission went at 20 ooo Km

    I'm taking a bit more care with the replacement 🙂

I was an hour out of Whitehorse and had plenty of fuel so just kept going even though I couldn’t shift out of 8th. Managed to cruise right up to the trucking company Pacific Northwest Transport and good thing I did because VW doesn’t have roadside assistance in the Yukon Territory. $1000 later the vehicle was delivered to Edmonton for the replacement transmission. It cost $10ooo internally for VW Canada. Still waiting on payment for $hipping out of pocket.

    Great review mate. I’m on the fence regarding this because of the ride comfort from other reviews I’ve seen.
    Would you take this over the R wagon?
    I currently drive a Golf R MK7.5.
    I’m also considering the LCI BMW X3 M40i. Would be awesome if you could review that 😉

    • @DavidBournePhotoandVideo
      @DavidBournePhotoandVideo  2 роки тому

      Thanks very much mate! Glad you enjoyed 😊 would love a chance to try the BMW too 😆 I don’t think the ride is too harsh, especially considering it’s an R product, not like you’re expecting it to feel like driving on a fluffy pillow. I’ve never driven the wagon (would love to!) My only real gripe is the seats. If they aren’t a concern to you then I dare say you’d love it.

    Great review but the exhaust sound is only in the cabin and outside it’s quiet. I have one coming and the exhaust will be changed. The seats are also a disappointment.

    • @DavidBournePhotoandVideo
      @DavidBournePhotoandVideo  2 роки тому

      I don’t mind the exhaust so much, cos at least I get to enjoy it haha. Is there a big aftermarket scene for these? Would be interesting to hear one with an exhaust. I really don’t get why they skimped on the seats. Such a shame. Thanks for watching mate 😊

      Yep just wish it still had the diesel or they should have used the 206kw motor out of the Superb. It's nicer inside and space is better than the Tiguen for sure. Seats are way better in the Skoda.
      Apart from size Cupra Formentor VZ is a very creditable alternative to both. I'm going there now the MY23 has matrix lights.

  • @johnnyVGtran
    @johnnyVGtran 8 місяців тому

    I just bought the Grid Edition purely because of the Sportier seats

  • @scollyutube
    @scollyutube 2 роки тому

    I think as an alternative to this and the Skoda the Cupra Formentor VZ is worth looking at. Apart from size it has the performance and all the same spec. Now that they MY23 model has matrix lights I'm probably going there as undercuts TRoc R and looks better IMO.
    Seats are way better in the Skoda and it's a shame they didn't spec the 206kw motor from the Superb or retain the BiTD. 21inch wheels on the Tiguen aren't the easiest to maintain or source either.

    • @DavidBournePhotoandVideo

      I’m hoping Cupra takes off here in Aus. Hasn’t ever really taken hold before. Thanks for watching and for the thorough reply 😊

    • @slyarsenal
      @slyarsenal Рік тому

      I looked at the Cupra Formentor. Awesome looking car and performance but the Brembo brakes are a nightmare because commonly they grind constantly. Cupra won't fix the problem. This is well documented among Formentor owners. Cupra aren't a mass-selling company. They'll look at cutting costs or avoiding ways to fix problems. Poor owners getting ripped off.

    Sorry, don't like the Golf R seats (w/integrated hear rests) in an SUV. Have more bolstering adjustment is fine, just not in that design for a family SUV. Even a sports version. We don't want grandma shoehorned in those seats.
    As for the haptic buttons, we have no idea how they're going to weather over the years. But those switch and knob you mentioned last a whole lot longer than just 15 years. There are cars a half century old with fully working buttons and switches. On those that I've seen fail, it was the plastic knob, that covers the metal pierce. With the haptic, I'm sure the more used touch switches will wear first, and look horrible down the line.

    • @DavidBournePhotoandVideo
      @DavidBournePhotoandVideo  Рік тому

      Now have a funny image of shoe horning grandma in to a set of buckets 😆 definitely agree with you on the buttons too. Such a silly fad that I can’t wait to go away. Thanks for watching!

    Not a bad review; not great either. VLOGGERS who just talk to the camera won't get as much attention than say what Paul is doing at @carexpert now. Sure that's a team but showing you the actual car and all about it vs talking about it; I know I'd rather watch as if I was at the showroom myself or better. Have a great way to present your vids, maybe you can change it up somewhere in the middle, cover some ground that the major players forget due to their high status :) thanks for posting, I'm keen on the incoming upgraded R model once revealed in a couple of years or less!
