Just come across this..... absolutely cracking footage. For someone who seemed to be part Spitfire, part Human and could fly this beautiful aeroplane like a demon, Mr Hanna spent an awful lot of utterly thrilling, spellbinding time virtually on the deck.....Incredible to watch...as ever !
Yes that part of the hill they’d come up and and it look like they had crashed then very low across the road and air port see it done in the 60 when a kid Boy ray hanna sure could make a spitfire sing So miss his flying a great pilot missed by so many
Obviously don't make 'em like that anymore, neither the plane nor the pilot. Just glad there's some video to enjoy. Thank you... much appreciate the upload.
Hi rebellnic, Thanks for your comment and I am glad that you enjoyed the video showing "the master", Ray Hanna at his best. I met Ray on two occasions, once at Manston and the other time at Duxford. On each occasion Ray autographed the video inserts that I had produced for my videos about the Old Flying Machine Company. I also knew Mark. I first met Mark in the autumn of 1992, when he arrived at Rochester Aiport to ground test Spitfire PL965.
Never forget his taking time out, to stand on the flight line and answer any questions from people, after giving an awesome flying display in a P40 at Wanaka .
Hi rebellnic, Apologies for leaving the "r" out of Airport in my first response. I must make sure that I proof read any comments before "posting" them in future! I would appreciate any comments about the other videos that I have uploaded to UA-cam. When I can find the time, I'll upload some more videos - watch this space! Ron
A wonderful display as usual for Ray, you can see why he was known as the founder of the down in the valley club! A shame about the colour scheme on this Spitfire, not authentic at at.
Ray Hanna, a brilliant pilot. Saw him display a Spitfire at Biggin Hill many times. Classic.
He would push the Spit just like she wanted :) brilliant Pilot

Agreed. Hanna really gunned the Spitfire, many of today's displays are not done at the same speed and seem like parades. Great pity.
Hanna flew the Spitfire IX in the unforgettable 'now thats low' YT video

The Americans used PRMkXI Spitfires during WW2 and did some of the longest flights.
Only one thing.thats birds British not American. Why have the us symbol on the plane.??
US operated some spitfires as reconnaissance aircraft.
