Blenheim and Two Hurricanes Duxford 2001
I was lucky enough to see Ray and Mark first hand in the 90’s at Biggin Hill - both tremendously talented and humble chaps, Ray was without doubt peerless in his dramatic low level skills aboard 434……. I their both flying high together now 😢
As many of us watching this did, I grew up watching Ray and Mark flying MH434 and other wonderful aircraft. So many wonderful and very happy memories as a small boy, being on a crowd line with my father, watching some brilliant flying. Then years on, I was so proud to be able to stand on those same crowd lines, with my own little boy, watching the same aircraft being flown by Ray and being able to explain and share that fantastic legacy for another generation. I was heartbroken at the time of Mark's tragic accident and can only imagine the horror and pain felt by Ray who witnessed it all. After Ray passed away, my son and I shared a very emtional moment, as MH434 was flown in tribute, in the same incredible way, as a final tribute at Biggin Hill, complete with the ( by then banned, but he did it anyway!) drop into the valley and zoom climb out again. It was as the sun was beginning to set and we both shed tears as we stood against the fence line. RIP to both and thank you for all those wonderful displays that gave us so much pleasure. Never to be forgotten.
Reminds me of my days stationed at RAF Wattisham 84 to 87. 56Sqdn FGR2 74 Sqdn F4J. Out on the airfield on 'chute recovery'. Very atmospheric at night during ' night flying'. Being yards away from the end of the runway, 4 ship takeoffs with full re heat. Happy days.
This Spitfire sounds like P-51 Mustang
An event that can never take place today, sadly Rolls-Royce sold the Hucknall factory, the runway has been ripped up and 100s of houses built on the airfield.
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for sharing.
I met him in Carrollton, GA when he came to look at Hess Bomberger’s P-51. I immediately recognized him as a genuine person and a gentleman.
By all accounts Mark was very handsome, charismatic and had a great respect and rapport with veterans. God rest his, and his father's soul. Both a real loss to the warbird airshow fellowship!
He died a week before my ordination as a priest. Hard to think that the date of this clip, he would be dead!
I put that there!!
I was 4 years old here and it scared the absolute shit out of me. My dad was covering my ears while my mum was holding my stomach because it was shaking so much. Now i wish i could see it again
Same with me
Very nice.
The greatest generation
I was sat on the beach watching this. The noise it made was fantastic. The pebbles were moving on the beach!
Can't stop to watch Ray and Mark.
Never gets old.
The Pilot would have had a Reprimand Letter in their Official File from their Commander. Planes were needed for combat ! .
You Bounce You Give it the Gas and Go Around,
Just to say thankyou to mark and ray hannah. For everthing and 434 etc
Mark Hanna was a class act…
Just watched thanks. I took my father to this reunion, now like many sadly passed, but can be seen a few times but well in a grey coat at 10 min 25 secs at front with Mark
Myself and dear friend the late Dave Gardner worked at MAPS for some time.
Was there ever a greater father/son flying team... RIP the both of youse. Damned, crying shame what happened to Mark :(
¡ Que espíritu emprendedor!. Que coraje!. Excelente!
That’s some seriously low flying.
magnificent.
This is the Aircraft I worked on as an airframe fitter, of sorts, when she, and I, were at RAF Saint Athan during the mid-late 1980's. Very happy days 👍
boring
Clearly… you don’t appreciate skilled aviators. Why are you here? Perhaps watch with mother is more your thing. Not boring, you are simply dull and uninteresting.
Wow what a growl at 0:43 spine tingling no better sound 🥶
My father flew in these. I checked his log book and L5343 wasn't there but the closest one was L5274
greetings from Poland!
Contrarotating props
That's the sound
Absolutely fantastic
A super economic airframe for the future
What a great sound
Fantastic, uk should have kept this incredible aircraft
This was a marvellous display of the Spitfire by Mark Hannah as all the displays he did in other aircraft were. I saw him fly at Duxford quite a few times and you knew you would get a wonderful display from him. He was a consummate professional pilot and treated the aircraft with great care. I couldn't believe he had that awful accident in Spain and shortly passed away. A great loss to the aviation world. Mark Hannah RIP.
Great sound..i am only a bit dissapointed by the boring color of this great plane!!! Cornelis, the Netherlands.
I was there giggling
Sheer bloody magic! Maestro at work!
Ray and Mark, sadly missed. Two great pilots flying a beautiful work of art.. R.I.P lads
What a lovely chap Mark was bless you Mark rest in peace buddy
Basically she being flown in attack mode lol
She’s in the hands of a very experienced pilot and those are power on dives
Incomparable.
Bloody hell you don’t see spits being flown like this anymore !!! Legend

Airshows haven't been the same since Ray and Mark passed away. They had warbird display flying down to a fine art. Airshow legends both of them.
