I have, like most of everyone on the internet, heard the memes talking about how IGN is awful and how their scoring policies make no sense whatsoever. Alas, there is a hint of truth to every meme.
I do agree here the currency that you would spend a lot of time to collect is useless here. The extra life is not that important since the game is not hard! The boo and gems are collectables so boo and gem finders are worthless in terms of gameplay. Moreover, you can easily find the boos by briefly revisiting areas without an assistant. I hope there were some upgrades on the vacuum instead.
The original was so unique and fun with interesting ghosts and amazing attention to detail within the mansion itself. I find myself coming back to it over and over a again! I love it so much that I bought it again for the 2ds! I'm planning on getting the 3rd for Christmas, and I'm willing to bet it will exceed my expectations!
I think that luigis mansion 3 should have a thing in e gadds lab where you can either reset a floor (where all money you have already collected doesn’t count) or reset a boss. In case you don’t understand what I mean by resetting a floor the best example would be boilerworks as if you enjoyed the swimming across the areas and solving the puzzles you can’t do it again unless you reset the full game (which might be annoying if you don’t enjoy the floors before the boilerworks)
0:46 can someone please explain why princess and mario dont sleep together in a hotel? From all those times Mario rescued her, he should get some peach in return. Either that or he hasnt come out yet and nintendo is finding a way to shove LGBQ down our throats in a story soon.
people, the fact that it didn't have many criticisms doesn't mean it's a 9 or a 10. A game or movie or book or anything can literally have zero cons and still be mediocre (in this case, IGN's scale, an 8 means great).
The problem is the at the end of the game, it doesn't safe the win! Also it leaves you at the rooftop save so you can't collect the rest of the boos or gems, I also wanted to go into the collection myself and see king boo in it!
I think the biggest flaw with this game is the fact that some of the puzzles require like 10,000 IQ points- or access to UA-cam so you can look up a walkthrough. But yeah other than that this game rocks

This more the kind of horror game for Ryan. Alien Isolation was too hard for him.
IGN big wigs: “don’t score it higher than COD”
Also IGN: *Gives Fortnite a 9.6*

Fortnite cant be better than this game

@@Kable10 i play like 2 games and then i stop cuz i get mad lol
I can't play a single game with a controller, without the Y axis inverted....Nintendo LUL
Lol. Nintendo doesn't care about what you want. 😆
My husband and I bought this game for the local co-op alone. I’m a very casual gamer who grew up with the original game, and he loves puzzles, so its a win win! Looking forward to bonding over gaming together for the first time ❤️
So this game can play 2 player local ?
Starving kids in Africa could've eaten that Luigi
What the heck...I just watched a video about black cannibals, and I somehow found your comment..
Maybe but if a ghost is hiding in there I'd be skeptical and it'd give me pause
Eaten that *Gooigi*
He's actually edible confirmed by nintendo themselve
Dark light mode can also reveal the "Ectoplasm" on the bedsheets.
You mean the stuff Tosh.o be catching like tossed popcorn
I haven't played the game, but I don't think that the gem locator would be that useless. One of my favorite parts of the first two Luigis Mansion games was finding the gems. I would spend my coins on the gem locators.
Nintendo fans are gonna FLIP that they didn't give the game a 9 or above, because apparently every Nintendo game deserves a 9
Lol true
It’s just that what he said doesn’t really match up
Sony fans are even worse pal. Look at the comment section of Medevil lmao.
Kenji Awojobi Nah there are plenty of bad Sony fans but of all the gaming communities Nintendo’s is by far the worst. They are all man children blinded by nostalgia that can’t handle criticism at all.
@@cahan7033 This video has 5000 likes and 300 dislikes. Medievil has 2500 like and 2300 dislikes. Your are wrong pal. Nintendo fans can take criticism unlike Sony fans.
The first one is still the best one. It was more ominous even though it was cartoony. The colors weren't so saturated. It genuinely looked like an old dusty house
The first Luigi’s mansion is still the best. I don’t think I’ve seen the first one available for switch yet, I hope it’s available soon.
About a year ago they remade the original using the same engine they used for dark moon. Unfortunately, I don't think it will be coming to switch after being remade for the 3ds, especially so soon. :((
@@WonderfulWolf_ Exactly
I really loved how Nintendo didnt want to hide the fact that Virtual Boy failed and kept making it appear on games
Thank you so much for showing boss battle clips during this review, I really appreciate that haha!
Obviously 8.3 is a great score, but I never get a sense with IGN review of WHY something is an 8.3 compared to an 8.7 or 9.3.
If we take the reviewer on what they say in this review, it’s a fantastic game with a couple of minor annoyances. But you could say that about Breath of the Wild or The Last of Us.
There’s no weight to you words.
This is what i said too about how scores undermine the review.
“Every twenty or so years”
*Dark moon crying in the distance*
Edit: Nvm he said three games lol
I keep forgetting dark moon ever came out :(
He said “three games every 20 or so years” so he was including dark moon
Mark Ferring ohh I just noticed that smh
@@darkgenie3167 smh
And this is why VideoGameDunky's review of Game Reviewers, specifically about IGN, will always be accurate.
At least they didnt give Boredom Stranding a higher score than this.
After you complete the game does it “reset” to before the final boss for you to get gems? Or whats the go?
8.3? After all the praises you do!? You have split personalities?
is everything under 9.0 garbage for u then ?
@@naimcool36 not for me, I doubt the original commenter too but you're talking 17% of the score taking off because you get more coins than you need
@@heywhatsup326 he also stated that the campaign is 17 hours for a $60 game. That would definitely make me drop some points on the score, no matter how polished.
@@ricardocalderon9823 what do you mean? There's plenty of games shorter than that for 60 bucks. That's pretty long for a Nintendo game too. Just for comparison the original got a 7 and Dark Moon got a 9.3 but then again it's IGN. I feel like it would make more sense if a few people wrote a review, at least for bigger titles, and gave an average from their scores
@@ricardocalderon9823 Yet a $60 Link's Awakening with 15 hour (4 hour if you know the ins and outs) of game play from IGN is a 9.4? I get it's not the same reviewer, but your point doesn't jive.
This is gonna be my first Luigi’s Mansion game and I’m really excited for it. I love how Nintendo can joke about the failure of the VirtualBoy even though it probably their biggest failure
It had me at “it’ll sell millions”.
AstonishingREDD I had one too lol.
Dude this at least deserves a 9. Come on ign you praised the game till the end of the vid. why do you do this
GCDeadshot probably because of the slow beginning he mentioned
You haven't even played the game, yet you definitively state it deserves a 9. Genuinely hilarious.
This review had boss spoilers lol thanks for nothing IGN
Thanks for the warning, guess I'll skip this review and go to a more reliable source.
Cons- Coins
Pros- everything else
Reviewer: “8.3”
Comment Section:
I have, like most of everyone on the internet, heard the memes talking about how IGN is awful and how their scoring policies make no sense whatsoever. Alas, there is a hint of truth to every meme.
I do agree here the currency that you would spend a lot of time to collect is useless here. The extra life is not that important since the game is not hard! The boo and gems are collectables so boo and gem finders are worthless in terms of gameplay. Moreover, you can easily find the boos by briefly revisiting areas without an assistant. I hope there were some upgrades on the vacuum instead.
'It has a little something for everyone" - IGN
The original was so unique and fun with interesting ghosts and amazing attention to detail within the mansion itself. I find myself coming back to it over and over a again! I love it so much that I bought it again for the 2ds! I'm planning on getting the 3rd for Christmas, and I'm willing to bet it will exceed my expectations!
So how did you like it? Should I get it?
Wait.. you cant Invert your controller? ugh... Hoping they patch that in.
They won't
@@DuckAlertBeats theyre lazy
I finished dark moon the other month and loved it. Didn't think I'd be more excited for LM3 over the newest Pokémon but here we are.
People over here really acting like 8.3 is a bad score?
Yeah people always complain that IGN never gives low grades, always too high. But now I understand it if their fans think a 8.3 is bad
the way he reviewed the game seemed he was gonna give a score higher than 8.3
Maybe because what's said doesn't matched up with the score given. He could've thrown in more cons in there.
I hope this comment is satire
How is it 2019 and developers still aren’t allowing y axis inversion on every game?
I feel like a prop hunt would perfect for this games multiplayer. 2 ghost hunters v 2 ghosts hiding in objects. Looks fun to me either way.
people, the fact that it didn't have many criticisms doesn't mean it's a 9 or a 10. A game or movie or book or anything can literally have zero cons and still be mediocre (in this case, IGN's scale, an 8 means great).
Luigi’s Mansion 3: 8.3/10
Pokémon Sword & Shield: 9.3/10
Okay.
The problem is the at the end of the game, it doesn't safe the win! Also it leaves you at the rooftop save so you can't collect the rest of the boos or gems, I also wanted to go into the collection myself and see king boo in it!
I love Luigi's Mansion.
Great review!
Just bought it today!
Can’t wait!!
I would honestly rate it a 9, I just finished playing it and had so much fun, I already miss playing it
I think the biggest flaw with this game is the fact that some of the puzzles require like 10,000 IQ points- or access to UA-cam so you can look up a walkthrough.
But yeah other than that this game rocks
