The Easiest Way to get a Fire Cape in 2024 - Old School Runescape

- As they add more quests to the speedrunning worlds, there may be an even better quest to chose for practice, if that's the case, I'll make sure to update this description with the new quest.
I just checked this again today and it still works! There are a few things that seem to be a little unclear from the video:
- You don't need to enter the fight pits, it's just a teleport to get to Mor Ul Rek more quickly. You could walk there too, if you wanted. It's under the volcano on Karamja.
- You need to pick a quest to start and then the game will set you up with items and stats, and for beneath cursed sands, one of the items is a fire cape, allowing you to enter the inner city.
- The challenge area is to the south-east of the inferno entrance. Unfortunately this same setup does not allow you to practice the inferno, but sometimes you can do something similar when there are Beta Worlds online.
It will not let me enter the inner area and i for sure have the fire cape on. did they change something or what am i missing?

This is what this world needs more of: No intros, no pointless bullshit and no sponsored by Manscaped shit. Just plain content, tight guides that go straight to the point. It would take an average OSRS content creator 10 minutes and 4 seconds to go through this same thing
They more focused on the monetization, Billy is a real one for focusing on the content instead
Well yeah, smaller creators make no bs/no sponsors content because they have to grow their channel first (or they're just in it for fun), but once you grow an audience and start getting offers, would you turn down being able to make content creation your full time job? I sure wouldn't. How would they have time to provide meaningful content while having to work a 9-5 at the same time? I will say, SOMETIMES once a channel is sponsored, you start to see them making the most random and repetitive content in the world just to boost their revenue or fit in that sponsored segment.
they pretty much have to. the world's financial incentives are fucked up.
Most creators make a living off of YOUR FREE content.
And it would take you the same amount of time if you were actually looking to do youtube as a job instead of make 4fun videos lmao
This got me my firecape. I'd done probably 20+ attempts over my 15 year journey with RS and after a failed attempt on speedrunning worlds I was able to beat the challenge and even lasted a few minutes against double Jad. My confidence against Jad was improved 3000% doing this method and I honestly don't know how I even struggled before.
Wow, this will help me so much. I've been playing this game for 20 years and have never gotten a fire cape. I never had the time or patience to sit through 63 waves of the most annoying and boring gameplay to get 1 attempt at the boss to try and learn this shit so I never bothered. However if I can actually spend some time getting used to the timing and building up the muscle memory (and gain some confidence) without the pressure of restarting at wave 1 if I screw up then maybe I can finally get a cape on my ironman. Thanks for the concise and to the point video showing exactly what I needed.

This is so helpful. I've been really demoralized trying to get the fire cape because it feels like such a slog getting all the way through the caves only to immediately die at Jad because I don't have practice at it. This is going to help me greatly. Thank you for this!
bro what practice it's 2022. Woox killed this thing with no food and flowers back in like 2008. It's 2022. You can literally afk venge auto-retaliate and drop it in like 10 seconds. (not even an exaggeration..multiple people have done this on video) lol
@@redeyeskuriboh2839 a lot of people (myself included) just see things as daunting sometimes being a casual player, and it can be intimidating! immediately de valuing an accomplishment by saying that "hey the best PvMer in runescape has done it, why not you?" isnt very helpful or constructive lmao. for some people it just takes time and motivation
@@redeyeskuriboh2839 first time rs account, I can get to jad easy did it first try and everytime since I think I’ve tried 4 times now, it definitely builds pressure when you have never done it and then keep failing, I can do the flicks fine just getting the healers killed while flicking and clicking it’s not something I just practice on RuneScape and there are many people like me who can’t do it let alone even get to jad. But yeah be that ego dick because someone who has been playing this game since it came out 8-12+ a day did it with hard shit. That’s like saying if tom Brady can win a superbowl you will too???

Watch a 2 minute video. If you can't do it after that then log out.
You don't need to kill the healers either lmao. You only need to auto them once to make them focus you, and they shouldn't even hit you for more than like 3 seconds since you block them behind something.
But hey if you took the 2 minutes to watch literally any guide you'd know this instead of wasting your time.

Additional tip : The healers can hit you when praying range/magic. Don't sit at 5 hp when healers come!

PSA for all those without the firecape yet gathering the healers in the challenge is way harder then in the actual fightcaves so once you get comfortable gathering them in the challenge youll be good

This actually made me so much more confident in doing this. Even on mobile. I don’t have a pc or laptop right now. I’ve been playing for years, and I have so much good gear, high stats, 90 range right now. But I hate walking around with an obby cape all because I’ve been so nervous or scared or something of just doing the damn boss haha. Thank you!

This helped me get my first fire cape on my FIRST TRY! I practiced killing Jad three times and it was enough.
Just a heads up for noobs like me: you need to take off the fire cape and show it to the stupid guard. ALSO, the falling rock mechanic is not explained at all, so you'll need to look that up.

@@kingmigz4225 In this example, in the speedrun setting, you do already have the fire cape. I think what you do to get a cape is bring 10 saradomin brews, 18 super restores, and your best d'hide / crossbow/ and I used dragon diamond bolts (e). someone can feel free to correct what type of bolt to use. then watch some guides for basic which starting positions for the blob monster you should use, and how to handle some of the groups. sometimes you need to trap them behind the italy rock and get rid of them one at a time. for jad, just focus on praying. dangly mage, stompy range. dangly mage, stompy range. and do ONE action after each jad attack. that means, click the healer. you can try to run away from jad and trap him behind the italy rock to slowly kill the healers, which is what i did, but i almost missed a prayer. you can probably just kill the healers, or tag them and let them attack you, while you're praying and killing jad.

Lol I had way too much confidence in myself. I didn't have time to do a first ever full attempt at fire capeJad so I decided to see how I did following your guide against just jad. Thought I'd kill him first try... Nope, I think I've died to silly things like 5 or 6 times... Need to try a few more times. The healers killed me one of the times, which was unexpected. Thank heavens for your guide because I would have been so frustrated with losing in the real thing.
I practiced similarly for my first. Did an online simulator, practiced til I got 3 kills, went back in, had a super scuffed run, but I beat him!

I love this plan I have put off doing the fire cape for the 4th time just because of wanting to figure out how to practice prayer changing on jad
There's also a website where you can do it. Unfortunately though it doesn't simulate healers when they spawn, just the prayer switching part.
FYI, you need to have the firecape in your inventory, NOT equipped. That will let you go through the gate
Best to switch to the ava's right away then the cape goes in your inventory.

Love the concise and to the point video. Need to train for jad, but dont wanna waste a ton of money on pots trying to do the real thing learning how to beat Jad. I suck at using hotkeys because i'm not much of a pker, but maybe it's time to get good at it for the sake of PvM at least. My account isn't a good build for pking anyways at 80 att/str 77 def/range, 68 prayer, 82 hitpoints and 99 mage.
I just got my first jad slayer task on my iron and about to practice by this genius idea thanks alot!
Btw if anyone needs it, if you search OSRS Jad Simulator, there’s an actual mod someone created where you are just fighting jad over and over. All you can do is switch your prayers to get use to his attacks. Can’t do damage to him and there’s no healers phase on it but it’s incredibly helpful getting to practice hearing and seeing his attacks before you go into the fight. I highly recommend!

Wow, I might return to my 2k total lvl Ironman and quit being a noob and get my fire cape now being able to practice on Jad. I always make it to Jad, but I'm so deep in the run I just choke hard every time. This changes everything.
Mind over matter friend. Persist, and you'll get it. I got mine at total level 1247 (77 ranged, 66 prayer, 70 defense, full god d'hide, blowpipe, barrow gloves and imbued archer ring) after a LOT of pain, time, and annoyance. Keep running him as often as you can bother to do it (based on time and your disposable gp) and eventually you'll get him. The more you run him, the less anxious you become. I did him around 12 times, and while still nervous (especially on the final time where I NEARLY fucked up a prayer and held my breath for about a minute and a half or so), I was much less prone to panic and was able to rationalize how I had to go about the fight because I ran it a lot. Good luck friend.

Still works, only annoying thing is if you die you get teleported back to lumby and have to wait until another teleport
You can just select the quest again and set up speed run and it resets it, still annoying yet it refreshes the teleport and such.

Hey this is an amazing idea, and I have been practicing, but I am struggling with the healers.. As soon as they spawn I can't distract them fast enough so Jad heals to full.. The healers also hit very hard and kill me
The trick with healers is to shoot each one once, then run away from them to get them to line up so only one hits you at a time. These are stronger and hit harder than for the real fight, so it won't be as hard when you do it for real.
Just a little update, I have spent a lot of today and yesterday practicing, and I have now done it a total of 5 times! Got 2 times in a row twice! I think I am ready for the real thing :D

Finally I got it tonight! After probably 5 full fight caves runs over a couple, and a bunch of issues with healers early on, I found a strategy that worked for me :)
I found the hardest part was just treating the real thing like a practice.. By the end I could do 5 practice jads in a row with no deaths, but I swear when I was in the fight caves my hands were shaking so hard that it made switching prayers 10x as hard haha!
Anyone considering a first time cape should 100% use this guide in the video, and probably complete it 10 or 20 times until you are super confident!
Other things I noticed was that it is way easier to do jad with normal food cause brews are just so confusing with your stats going down, but if you don't take brews then you have to be more careful with supplies in the waves!

Dude thank god you told me this. I was sooo fucking tired of getting 0 practice in on jad. Tired of wasting 1 hour to fet 20 seconds of combat with Jad to panic and not get the mechanics right to the point I juat gave up on the idea of a cape and about to pay some1 $25 to possibly get my account banned of what is some of the easiest content in the game ive played for 20 years for.

is it too late if I already have a year of gametime since 2005?
Tip: use black chins to tag the healers. What this means is hit all healers with black chins so they focus on killing you and not healing jad. Do not kill the healers or they will respawn and heal jad. Chins explode and can hit multiple targets which is why you use them. It’s much quicker than in clicking each healer individually with a blow pipe. Also, go budget setup but when you get to jad switch to dragon darts. Don’t use dragon darts the whole cave because they are expensive.
Lastly, pray range when jad does his first attack because he *almost* always hits range first.
One more thing (lol) turn on game audio because you can hear what attacks he will use.
Last one I promise: when jad stands on his hind legs and holds his stance it means he either hits range or magic… I forgot which one. Learn this so you can predict his attack and not get hit

Can this be done with other bosses? Can I practice Zulrah or Vorkath like this?
For other bosses, it's better to wait for Jagex to open up the beta testing worlds, which will give you max stats and any gear you want.

Make sure you kill all the healers. During my run a single healer got stuck behind jad while I killed the other three. This single healer healed jad to full, and this caused jad to spawn yet another wave of healers at 50‰ life.

Yes, that is your speed run profile. You make it and then do as shown in the video, pick beneath cursed sands in the blue star quest list, set up speed run and go make your way there.
