  • Just to show a little hands on with my new Dell Latitude 7330 Rugged Extreme. My favorite laptop I've ever used. Great size, great keyboard, great screen, amazing battery and ports, top quality build and feel. Touchpad is the only thing that's not my favorite. Also, I use Clonezilla to transfer my old laptop drive and operating systems to my new machine on a Sabrent 4TB Rocket 4 Plus NVMe 4.0 Gen4 PCIe SSD. The transfer went well, just a couple blue screens and drivers to fix. I've been using this laptop for a week now and traveled a bunch with it. Battery seems to be about 6-8 hours.

    Watched this while waiting for mine to arrive. So far this is the first place I have been able to find showing M.2 swap on this machine. Thanks for posting!

      Hope it helps. I did not know the difference between dual layer and single layer SSDs (I think that’s what they’re called). That’s why I had to peel the foam off. Good luck, let me note if you have any questions. I love this laptop after using it for several months!

    Picked up one of these units this week. i5, 16GB, 512GB (2230), optional USB-A and two TBT4 ports. It's a nice machine. It does not have the RGB keyboard but that's an easy upgrade if I choose it.
    One thing I find interesting is when no audio driver is loaded (booting, in BIOS setup) any processing on screen gives feedback through the speakers.

    How does this compare to the Getac X600 pro?

    thank you for the video, debated on actually upgrading my internal storage but chose against it since my purposes wont really be needing more than the minimum 256GB that i got.
    mine will arrive in a week. very expensive laptop, cost me about $4500 USD for the build i customized, and i still excluded all the things i dont care about (no camera, no card reader, no finger print reader, ect), but got the most power i could get from it, 32GB ram and the i7 CPU. I got the lowest storage of 256 since they asked way too much for upgrading the storage. ill probably end up only using my external SSD for it

      Cool! Enjoy your new laptop! The i7 and 32GB was smart. This has been a fantastic laptop for me.

    Is the touchpad in this laptop a capacitive or resistive one? Thanks for the video.

      No clue! It’s not my favorite touchpad. Works in direct sunlight, but I use a Logitech M570 (the Unifying receiver fits in the back port with the dust shield closed!).
      Would you please let me know if you find out the answer? Thank you!

      @@amhainen I found it. It has resistive touchpad. Those would be used in fully rugged laptops to provide ability to work in wet environment. Capacitive wouldn't work if touchpad is wet. The downside of resistive is usually lack of gestures like two-finger scroll, etc.

      @@gwojcieszczuk Thanks! It has two finger gestures, but very touchy.

      @@amhainen do you know how often the rugged extreme series gets refreshed? Im considering the i5 version

    • @amhainen
      @amhainen  Рік тому +1

      @@eugene-hong Not sure how often. This version I have with the 11th gen processors was a big step forward from the previous version with the 7th gen processors. I have seen the older models and my screen is waaay brighter and easier to see. The dual batteries are great. The ports are great. It’s a great laptop and have no desire for anything newer or faster (I have a R13 i9 3080ti with Windows 11 and I much prefer running this on my dock in my office with Windows 10).

    Hello, what can you say about the battery life both outdoor (higher brightness) and in office conditions ?

    • @amhainen
      @amhainen  Рік тому

      I get about 5-6 hours. I never try to do any power savings. My screen is always on, quite bright, WiFi on, etc. I almost always leave the brightness two clicks down from max unless I'm outside. It's been a great laptop!

      @@amhainen yeah I figured with that brightness.. however I was thinking about the battery Life in a uni/shool Environment where you wont need all that brightness. Anything you can say regarding such a scenario?

      @amhainen  Рік тому

      @@tigga5117 I would guess you could get seven hours. I have never tested it in that way.

      @@amhainen hmm okay.. I was Wondering If you could get the advertised 25 hours (probably rather Like 12-15) in a shool Environment. That would be important to me
