- Bullet Time in Counter-Strike? We played Competitive CS:GO, but sped it up and slowed it down using the host_timescale command. Insanity ensued!

Juustohöylä I have a collective 1200 hours in the game and have been playing it for almost 4 years. I have a friend who has 3500 hours in the game and has been playing it for almost 8 years. He tries at the game and I am consistently better than him. People can try to play the right way but people can just be bad. Of course not playing the right way can result in either playing well or badly, but some people just don’t process the game correctly

If the p90 is good at 2x speed and people at 1x speed who are bad use it... surly they think faster not slower? Bad players at 1:1 are meta at 2:1
@@rrett44556 They think slower. The p90 on video is at 2x compared to the normal 1x for warowl. Therefore the people who use p90 frequently on 1x have to their normal brains at 0.5x, not at 2x.
Its clearly not about how fast people think, its game reaction time and skill. I haven't practiced at all with an awp, p90 is great when I want to make a difference in the game. Recoil control is also great on that thing, has lots of bullets and it doesn't point out in corners like long weapons do.
I rly though he'd play on 200% speed, and when the bomb gets planted would automatically change to 50%

i think you have to play both 50/75% and 125%, then do 100%

Video suggestion: there's a command called "sv_friction" which can be used to change the default friction, it also works with negative friction.

“sv_standable_normal xx” also works and then you have to strafe to build up speed.
Works best on train imo
Edit: standard is 0.7 I think, skating works best at 99999 or higher

btw if you do command host_timescale 0.5 in normal competitive you voice still gets slowed the gameplay will still be normal speed so try it out if you like you can still play normally but the voice will be slowed
Doing this with you actually destroyed my ability to play the game for like two days.

lmao this comment is one hell of a crossover. It's funny though, as a classical musician, I've said for years now that sv_timescale, especially around 0.75-0.9, is one of the most undervalued practise commands in the game. Works wonders to learn recoil patterns for example.

What if a faster reaction time means you see the world in "slow motion". When I first started training my aim in Kovaak's, the game felt uncontrollable and the targets were hard to hit. After about a month, I noticed that the game felt oddly slower. Maybe its placebo, but in speed based exercises it was much easier to see targets and reset for the next one, almost as if it was slower.
I sometimes feel like music is slower. Like, it feels off and not how it's supposed to sound, but everything is set right. Almost as if the brain is just overclocked and the perception is going supersonic.

That math is actually wrong xD The calculation he did doesn't make any sense: 1/3 "faster brain", as he means the world goes 1/3 slower, would be 1-(1/3)=2/3=66%. 75% is 1/4 "faster brain", not 1/3. What he unconsciously did is to check if 100% is 1/3 faster than 75%(which it is), not the opposite.

I think Warowl rocked at 125% because he had enough time to react, and go on instinct, but not enough time to over think... Something he's observed as a problem in his plays many times over the years when he gets the yips ... Lessons to be learned for all I fell. Great video dude ;)
Long time ago I played on a server that had huge health multiplier and only headshots did any damage, meaning you had to shoot for the head and multiple times. After just few weeks of messing around like that going into normal games felt like being a god. People were dying super fast and I was trained to just shoot for the head while weaving my own noggen away from the fire. This reminds me of that.
You know I feel good having re-found WarOwl after maybe two plus years, and seeing he still has no closer. Love you man! Awesome content!

@@anrijsc1037 Old CoD vs New CoD. Hell even in the advanced movement games I found people sitting in corners prone, but in CoD4 and WaW people just be hoppin round corners hipfiring with SMGs.
this is also a thing that i do recommend alot of players who want to improve to do. is to go into a practice workshop map and set the mode to close rush and have the time on 1.5 or even 2x as fast. it does fuck with the gun feels a little bit but when you go into official matchmaking their movement almost seems slowed down.
I realised about that back in 1999 when I jumped from HF to CS. I used to go back to play HF once in a while to keep my reaction time sharp. It's the equivalent to training in the mountains. All pros should include it in their training.
How WarOwl comes up with video ideas:
looks for interesting commands in the source engine and hopes to find something that would be interesting to play with.

200% speed at the start of a round and
50% speed in the last 30 seconds or after a bomb plant.
That's what the original concept was, but the command to change kept screwing up. Would work if I get a dedicated "change the speed" guy to sit there, or figure out how to write a plugin to run the command every bomb plant.

maybe "." (faster)and "/" (slower) to switch the speed just to make it easier to change..
@@TheWarOwl u need a mod that can add to the game triggers, like bomb plant sounds surely it can trigger the slow speed at plant and at round end change it back. or a dedicated 11th guy doing the switch should be easier to do.

That actually makes so much sense. Just like football players when they put that extra weight on thier legs on practice
Higher speed with lower mouse sensitivity to cancel out the increase of speed could be another way. When I started playing CS in 1999 my reaction time was pure madness thanks to the many hour playing HF Deathmatch. I used to play CS with sensitivity 7 and yet had very good accuracy. That's why I think higher speed is the way to go as an advanced player or pro, so your brain will perceive normal speed as slow motion. If you're a noob or average player then yes, lower speed first and then practise all the way to normal speed.

The slow speed makes aiming much easier and peeking more dangerous, but the fast speed invites to rush through. Imagine double speed on dust2, the awper on mid has a bad day.

Lectures at my Uni would say I don’t want you to perform it but to play it. If that meant taking 5 mins on a bar before continuing on so be it. Same concept with CSGO, a true player wouldn’t jump straight into a competitive game without warming up in different categories (DM,Retake,1v1,ect..)

Props for using lash's theme from advanced wars. One of my favorite pieces of video game music
i actually like playing with 1.5 speed against bots, its surprisingly difficult and when you play normal online, the game feels like slow motion
for ppl who are interrested in the slowed down variety: this is simmilar to a TAS, a tool assisted speedrun, where you slow the game down or even preprogram inputs to optimize the time a speedrun takes.
8:20 when the Terran theme kicks in and you remember the 300 APM you need to play Starcraft 2 ...this speed just feels like home
This seems like a potentially good practice technique, as warowl mentioned at around 9 minutes. Maybe somebody should start running servers that do 75% and 125%.
