I’m super impressed with how simple they made this. If you want to just have AI on the map and not script waves and all that, it’s as simple as just placing them and working out your nav mesh.
I had a ton of fun with it before work and I can’t wait to jump back in.
I have my nav mesh sorted out but the ai won't move around it, do I need to use the move ai thing so they then know that they can move around that nav mesh area?

Yeah I really never expected it to be that simple, especially the Phantom spawn part. I wasn't expecting Phantom drops AT ALL, much less them being able to fly to a point you choose and drop off whatever units and vehicles you want. That's insane
@@TheCommssioner Found out that Ai also move within the boundary that you can set with the generic ai spawner. Got a grunt that can only move around on this bridge backwards and forwards on his own free will
SIMPLE?! MY AI MOVE ZONE IS INTERSECTING WITH THE NAV MESH, SAME CASE FOR MY SPAWNER, YET THE SPAWNER ISN’T INTERSECTING WITH THE NAV MESH AND MY AI MOVE ZONE IS SOMEHOW UNREACHABLE.
I hope someone creates a tug-of-war type of map with the addition of Forge AI ;-; i’d try and make it but Forge is too daunting for me lol
That would be a pretty cool map!
Someone do it where each team has a node that is triggered by the action of them teabagging 😂 whichever team teabags the fastest brings the object defined by the node closer to them, maybe the object could be a wall behind the enemy team that pushes them into lava

Yeah forge is daunting for me too but I'm doing pretty well! Not easy and not great, it's one of those things where you've gotta mess around to understand. Though forge is a little buggy, nothing too bad that'll break the map luckily. I did do a college course to do with games and animation so I'm a little lucky there as what I've learnt goes into forge. But the scripting is real tough, way too advanced for what I was taught
A persistent war type large map with ai will be excellent. Capturing points with ai battlefield style

I dont understand, I selected the Move Zone and the AI spawner the units won't move?
@@ApexPheonixYT I was playing with it last night. I don't think the move zone matters much, just focus on the spawner. Select it, then go to the object properties menu. Then change the radius of the spawner to be the size of the map. They will spawn in random places across the map, that's how I got it to work, was playing with a bunch of spec ops elites in the crystal caves map, was alot of fun!
@@ApexPheonixYT Did you actually link the spawner to the move zone? If so, is your spawner inside the move zone? If the spawner is in the move zone, they'll just stay where they spawned until engaged. Once active they'll move around the move zone to fight.
@@ohno5507 I think thats what it was, I thought pressing X meant I was linking them, but when I use A it works correctly, sometimes its still weird, sometimes they just stay still, particularly with the normal spawner, the phantom and drop pod work though
you could make some kind of chase scene with those bull brutes xD like imagine hide n seek with them. or a tight hallway for a horror map.

Halo 3 Minotaur mini-game revitalized in Halo Infinite
Making one now based off the brute blood sports, the players have to sneak through the woods and find low ammo guns and eventually find a banished gate where they'll need to hold off waves of enemies, the entire time your hunted down by packs of zerkers and brute patrols
Only issue is I have a horrible time understanding scripting and really need help with it

My favorite Reach forge was an invasion d day on forge world on the beach, imagine banished ai on turrets and guarding the fort as you get peppered charging in and they keep dropping guys, or the reverse , we are firing down at them
This is so cool. I can't wait to make stories with these A.I. I remember playing Spore and messing around with Adventure Mode when I was a kid. I am so happy to bring that level of passion into Halo of all games.
Dont waste your time with this shit, use the game call to arms with the halo mods this is 10000x better
What's crazy is that i keep realizing just how good the AI was in Halo CE. It's one of the things that just blew my mind when it came out and it's crazy how well it still holds up to this day when you go back and play the OG halo again. It's a thing of beauty especially with the tech limitations they were working with. There has been so many "new" games that their AI comes no where close to what OG Halo did. Left 4 dead 2 also had an amazing AI system. I'm glad this Halo is finally getting treated with passion and creativity. I hope these new devs keep this up. I'd love for them to make a eerie DLC with a new creepy campaign built around the return of the flood. There is so much potential there. Especially with making some unique Liminal spaces for the story to play out in. Don't fall into the open world trap. Craft a well made campaign dlc. They could do a lot of this with this new Halo. I hope they tap into the amount of creativity they could utilize if they just focus. The saw how much the open world didn't vibe with most people. So craft creative stuff. It would be easier and nicer than making only open world stuff.

Im in the middle of making an awesome PVE map where you're at an outpost & you & you're unit lost all communication so you have no choice to hold it out until you or the enemy Zeno's are extinguished. Surrounded by hunters berserkers sniper jackals. I'm still in working on it but the settings is more WW1 with Sand bags as coverage & it's raining & Misty but dark as well 😅

Fun custom campaign idea:
The Tower
First floors map description "A splinter group from the covenant discovered a forerunner tower on an otherwise desolate planet. The behemoth would've been visible from orbit, but the tower was hidden underground until this group activated it and saw in awe as it rose higher and higher into the sky seemingly never-endingly until one day it finally stopped and the entrance opened. It is said the splinter group is still climbing the tower to this day passionately curious to uncover its secrets at the very top and discover the reason such a structure was ever made. Just to use it against us, you must stop them."
The first map you have to fight your way into the tower that is as tall as will fit in the map creator, and at very high up made narrow to a point so from the viewpoint of the ground it just appears to be jutting into the sky forever, and as many floors chock full of enemies, vehicles, weapons, and varying level design as it will allow. Then you can make "The Tower (floors 30-40)" Or whatever and have consecutive maps where you start in the tower on the floor just above where you ended on the last map. Someone could in theory make it go on as long as they want since you just start a new map once the forge limit is reached. Enemies get harder, stronger weapons become available, and more complexity is added to the level design as you go higher up, they don't need to be confined office building floors either they could be super tall floors that allow for flying vehicles sometimes even.
Map descriptions moving forward could slowly reveal piece by piece the purpose of the tower from various objectives completed on the previous maps allowing our spartan to know that. The forger could even write their own lore on the splinter group and how they found the tower to begin with.
Thank you for the video! I learned a lot from all you covered. I was having so much fun messing around this morning on forge. I had all out battles between marines/Elites vs brutes/ hunters. What a blast! I can't wait to do more.

The Modding guys potentially moving more towards H2A and H4 b/c esier to mod, but we ( i at least) still like h3 and Reach. But for example Greenknight has been porting Reach Weapons into H2A

This definitely helped me atleast understand the basics of scripting and I was able to do things i never was able too, but something I can’t figure out is how to make a single squad of enemies continuously respawn, some how it affects everything at a global scale, gets a bit buggy but thanks a lot for trying to learn with us lol

@@EwokHunter27 yes you can! When selecting what type of AI (like shown in the videos), if you scroll down one more spot...you can control what weapon they spawn with.

I don’t have the time to do it but what I’d love to do is a King Of The Hill map with jackal snipers up on top of structure. Player v Player teams vie for the hill down in the kill box and the snipers rain fire on them from up above. Throw in some grunts or hunters adding to the hellfire and you have a really tough King Of The Hill.
IM SO HAPPY! ever since halo 3 came out i’ve been begging the gods for AI spawning, i got my hands on MCC PC a year ago when workshop released for steam. I was stoked when i saw you could make mods for older halo games and now it’s released for infinite! HOORAY HALO!!!

Well i know what gonna do now. Thanks to you for helping me understand. Im gonna make halo infinite warzone game modes from halo 5 and make halo infinite DMZ type mode. Kinda like COD Warzone DMZ 2.0 style.
Im workin on a overran version of chasm with some marine, brute, elites and grunt buddies vs the banished and some infected spartans and with what i have in mind, its gonna be DOPE
i would love for people to start exploring the ranks within the banished where the weakest and lowest ranks typically are say the grunts where one is blind another is blind and deaf, they have weak guns and not much in the way of defences. itd be so cool just to see like a small convoy of grunts in peoples builds walking around acting like scavengers and barely surviving on the ring with what they have. the leader of that group would have at least done something to get premoted with a deaf grunt and a deaf and blind grunt within the team or managed to pull some form of victory by doing so XD. the story building is now completely there.

I’ve created a way to add assassins creed like stealth into forge maps, walking into tall grass on my map im working on makes it so enemies won’t be able to notice you as much
It looks cool so far what would be cool is if they added a random movment option
Wow, Forge is gotten so much better since Halo 3. Wished Rooster Teeth hadn't gone out of business. This really would have been a great tool to use in Red vs Blue.

I want to make a gamemode where you defend certain points from ai and if they capture it you fall back, getting less defensive positions and weapons like less vehicles but powerful. Like at the final point you only get one scorprion. So on. Just defend a base and got to protect walls and so on
I just played a custom game on a ODST new Mombasa styled map with two big teams and ai on both teams

Would love a banished vs unsc Ai mode where one team of player spartan fighting for the banished (without hunters) while the others for the unsc.
I wonder if you can script playable NPCs, or maybe modders will do it
it'd be cool if someone could make like MOBA like map for like objectives with defensives on both sides and play like league or Smite.

this might be a dumb question, but can you assign ai to your team? like say you wanted ai marines to accompany you, are you able to do that? Or are they just automatically enemies?

They could make that work same as the Phantom so easily. At least for vehicle drops anyway, like in campaign.

Yes, AI in Forge is allowed. A very good update for Halo Infinite. Well, I'll probably do the AI focus of Elites vs. Brutes.

This is mad dope. Only thing is i cant stay in a forge match for too long or i end up losing connection. I restarted my router, changed dns and everything too but it still ends up saying “you lost connection to server” and halo infinite is literally the ONLY game thats does this bs, its annoying
