For a person that thought he knew everything i did not know about the flat spot for hitch clip rotation. Excellent tip as usual keep up the great work!
You are the best mower poster on UA-cam, articulate and clear explanations. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your vids, thanks for all of your hard work putting these together and especially sharing your knowledge.
Great video brother. I'm a veteran who really enjoys simple and direct instructions. Your explanations were outstanding. You should have been a soldier. We need men who can train well and keep our young men squared away.
Thank you for being clear & concise. I have an old GT6000 with a 50" deck, so yes more pulleys, arms, etc. My belt came off before completing my first mow this season & needed a refresher & a boost of inspiration to get back out there & pull the deck off. Once I get my first mow completed, I usually replace my blades. Again, taking the deck off. The deck weighs half of what I do, so kind of a bugger to muscle around. Lol. Great video & I appreciate your VERY helpful tips throughout.😊
very good video its has been over a year since i took off my deck and needed a refresher course Thank You again and I watch all your videos thumbs up again
This was a GREAT video!! My father and I found this very helpful and we are going to replace our belt this evening armed with your knowledge good sir! Please make more videos!! 👍 thanks again!
Thanks man... been looking everywhere as to how the control rod for the blades works. Your explanation in the middle of the video was perfect. My attachment engagement levar is extremely difficult to press forward. I just put a new belt on and everything is good. Now that I know how the tension is applied I can give it a once over again.
Fantastic video, the way you explain the mechanism by which everything operates e.g. how the blade engage rod provides tension adjustment to the belt helped me understand and therefore troubleshoot much better than any other video I have seen. Most other guys are like yeah pull out these pins and throw the belt on good luck. Yours is top notch. Keep it up.
I do Marine repair for a living and your video is excellent and very well thought out . The one thing I would recommend to everybody when you pull your deck is flip it over and check the blades . If they are worn or have huge nicks in them its easier to replace the blades while you got the deck out . I had to put in a standard black V belt in my deck because nobody in Elko nv has them I couldnt even order one and Homo Depot decided to eliminate half their mower parts and no long carry the belt for my deck they used to carry. Before there was two full long racks of belts now its down to half that and most of parts they had are gone. Had to go Ebarf and order the belt but I lucked out and got two for 30 plus tax free ship. Can you do a video on adjusting the tension? My pivot is threaded for my tension rod and you have to take it off to adjust the tension how can you get proper tension when you have to remove the pivot everytime? if they had just took the pivot and slid it on the rod with no threads with two jam nuts you could adjust it on the mower with the rod in place. Makes no sense 🤔
Great detailed video for replacing belt. I have this lawnmower and need to raise the deck, cuts to low in highest setting (6), do you have a video to explain process to get deck up, seems it doesn't allow the front to go up, just the rear. Thanks again.
Those spring clips aren't high-grade, unbendable spring steel. They are slightly malleable. You can bite them with some pliers and make them tight again. That one didn't open up because of age, wear, etc. It opened up because someone brute-forced it off last time they worked on it. Anyhow, really, REALLY thorough video. Well-done.
Thanks for the video-- do you know the belt size for the transmission? 1/2" by 95 is what I measured, but its stretched and damaged.. bought used with no info!
The piece you see at 3:50 I believe you called an idler pully rod. (the up and down portion with the paddle and hole in the top is broken on my lawn mower. Where can I find that? It is almost the same model as you have in this video, except my starter and gears are on the right side next to the seat instead of the floor.
Hello , Is it possible to change the Blade Belt without taking the deck out? I am 74 and working on this in the yard so it's a little hard to pull the Deck out. If you see this soon please let me know. Thanks, Larry
I have a similar mower , wish I would have seen this before changing my belt. I did manage to change it without dropping the blades. Any hacks for a muffler on this model? I cant find the right size.
Mine comes out the left side, goes forward to the front and the round muffler aims downward at the end of the exhaust pipe. It's all one unit and a replacement is over $100! I went to a machine shop with the entire assembly and a screw on 12hp muffler from Lowe's. They made me an exhaust pipe assembly (cutting up the original one) with a threaded pipe aiming downward to accept my $7.00 muffler replacement. They charged me $20.00! Beats $100!
I know your busy but i have aQ do i need to change the rod on top of deck mower that i changed from a42 in. Deck to a38 in. Deck should it be changed. The belt is tight i think it should be less tension but idk could you tell meoh maybe youjust told me
I would like to see how you replace the blade engagement cable on a Craftsman model #917.2880 31. There are several videos on how to do it but I'd like to see how YOU do it. I do have the cable and am about to try my hand at it. Just curious.
I have a lawn mower like that except it was a craftsman Ferrari model and I’m trying to find the price of the cost to sell it but can’t find it can y’all help me
Hi excellent videos what I would say obviously you’re in a controlled environment but just for people trying to copy what you’re doing is put the key in their pocket so there’s no mishaps with anybody coming in and turn the key

I have watched other youtube channels on repairing this deck, but yours is far much better than the others. Thank you for uploading these videos
To the public I did not post this the way it came I will aplauigise for the way it sounded
Thank you!! This video helped me immensely! Now I know that that big knob adjusts the deck height. Well done!!!
Great video brother. I'm a veteran who really enjoys simple and direct instructions.
Your explanations were outstanding. You should have been a soldier. We need men who can train well and keep our young men squared away.
Thanks. I have to replace the belt for the first time on the same mower and this is a very big help.

Awesome job. My dad just broke the belt on his craftsman mower so now I know how to fix it. Much appreciated
I had a mower just like that, probably 1994, it was a beast lasted more then 20 years

Great video, very detailed, to the blades below need to be in a certain position, will they contact each other when rotating?
No, that is what's referred to as "blade timing" and usually only needs to be done if you have a cogged belt

Hard to say, I'd have to see it to know. Thanks for watching!
@@EliminatorPerformance I meant your lawnmower. Thanks. Maybe they did not have it b ack then
What size of belt did you use
CANADA!! I got Maple Fever...
You do NOT HAVE TO REMOVE BOTH ENDS OF THE HANGERS ON EACH SIDE!! I know because I have been working of the lawnmowers for about 20 years
What size belt they take
This one is a 1/2"x88"
How do you replace the drive belt on this mower

Ask high
Settle low🤫😂😂
Dang, that’s the same exact mower I have but my deck only has 3 pulleys.
That’s the only thing I don’t like is dropping decks and moving them out of way
I can't use a rider that doesn't hack front and rear scalp wheels.
