- In this video I will show you how to save time and money by fixing this loose belt yourself on your riding mower. Just loosen the jam nut on the linkage as shown in the video. Then unscrew the piece on the end of the linkage and keep checking till the belt is tight. Now tighten the jam nut.

Good detailed video, very helpful in helping me figure out why my craftsman riding mower belt kept jumping off, I was lose but thanks to you I'm looking forward to cutting more grass.
Did I miss the part about tightening the belt?
This video told me exactly what I needed to know, I fixed my mower and saved a lot of money that I really didn't have to spend
Good video. To the point and no unnecessary commenting.
Thanks for this video. I wondered about that adjustment and what it does. Very helpful.
Thanks!! This is just wanted to know but you're the first I found after looking at many that explained it correctly (even with the one handed camera!) I subscribed.
Thank you! just what I needed.
Thanks man! I'm going to level my deck right now! Great job & video
Good onya
Doggone...
Makes sense...troy-built 08 belt keeps jumping off. Thanks for the simple to understand video
I've owned my Craftsman mower for at least 25 years... all that time, I have changed several mower belts and only 1 drive belt... not too complicated. Several times I replaced the deck belt during the season because it had gotten loose. I looked in my owners' manual and online for the correct method of tightening the belt. I suspected the rod you pointed out was the correct one, and thank you for confirming what I wanted to know for 25 years !
