An ordained priest's sins are worse because he is a PUBLIC sinner who scandalizes the faithful and puts the salvation of those weak in faith, AT RISK FOR HELL. If you cannot discern the difference, then I contend your mind is clouded. We live in Sodom, now, we can all be affected by what the Holy Virgin told Sr. Lucia at Fatima is "diabolical disorientation." Calling out a sinner whether lay or cleric, is a spiritual work of mercy. I am obliged to seek the truth, first and foremost, in my own culpability, and to address it properly with prayer, penance and confession. Francis has basically allowed the Chinese communist party to appoint bishops within China, been mostly silent on the issue of Catholic and Christian persecution in China, and has gone along every step of the way as the official Catholic Church in China is forced into the red church.
He has also been silent on these issues even after the Chinese government was caught spying on the Vatican a few years back, in direct violation of a previous agreement.

🤔 Pope Francis very well explained why he accepted Aupetit's resignation: it would had been very difficult for the Archbishop to continue governing his diocese after all the harm that was done by diverse accusations and "calumnies" 😔 He seemed pretty angry to have been forced to do so, btw. He openly said that at least the early church was humble enough not to expect / pretend that bishops were saints, citing saint Peter as an example. Furthermore at least THEY knew themselves to be sinners. That's what pope Francis called hypocrisy : the people condemned their Archbishop for sins that aren't so grave, while they themselves are sinners who go on slandering their bishop without knowing what really happened.

I do not know what is wrong with saying "Happy Holidays" rather than "Merry Christmas." If you are speaking to Christians, it will be understood to be a Christmas greeting. If you are speaking to others, they will understand it accordingly. No problem.
