Honestly I wish every hobby I have had a UA-camr like you. I love nerding out on gear and you do such a great job on even the niche pieces. And linking all products below is the shit.
Great info. Still a bit confused with all of this. Could you make a video on this exact setup using water and demonstrating all valves and everything working, all possibilities, etc. Thanks and definitely subscribing!
Hello , What do you think spiral aeration Brewtools? is it good to use it when placing in vats for good aeration before inoculation? or is it not necessary?
Great Channel Bradley! Thanks for the info on the Brewtools gear. I’m looking into an upgrade sometime in the future but wanted to check with you on how you are CURRENTLY using your system. Like so many other brewing equipment sometimes you get a gadget and then ditch it later for a more simplified setup, etc. Can you break down specifically the Brewtools brewhouse items you are using now including what starter pack and any upgraded items you got along the way?
I love my equipment Brewtools keeps making it better and better ! Honestly the best pack is probably the three valve starter pack. I’m getting ready to upgrade my set up , With more valves just to see what it’s like🍻
Thank you, there's a couple little mistakes With the way I have a valve set . But hopefully anyone who is considering or trying to understand gets the idea.
@@PortlyGentleman i'm sure they will bud, for me the Brewtools system is soooo much better than any other system thats remotely compatible with it and imo will be massively popular with home brewers in the next couple of years, i'm glad i'm in pretty much on the ground floor, and the good news is its only going to get better...
Hi Bradley, I want to jump in head first into all grain brewing. The advertising sold me on BrewTools and customization but the essential customizations get expensive pretty quick. How can you cut costs? Is BIAB possible to cut out the HLT equipment? Can you do a video on that?
I'd like the valve to give a definite indication as to where it is, a bit off square and it will leak to another port as demonstrated at 5:57. However, I've seen in another video where it has to be in a 5 o'clock position for some part of the process.
Sorry if I missed this in another video- do you put extra strike water in to match how much will be going into counterflow chiller? I have quite some distance on my CF chiller to the BT unit due to brewing area restrictions/sink location. Should I add extra strike water to make up for the extra length of tubing or should I keep it closed off until I start to circulate when mashing in? This will be my first brew on this system. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks man.
I do not however I also am pretty aware of my system setup and its losses. that's one of those things you just kind of have to figure out. When I'm filling the system with water for a brew.I make sure not to let any water into the counterfoil chill or other pipe work only the pump.
Portly Gentleman yeah that is what I was planning too, I don’t want to dilute the mash plus it would be a pain in the butt to figure out how much extra goes into my tubing and CF then add that to the brewing software etc haha thanks for your help man
@@PortlyGentleman But if you don't prime the CFC and the bypass pipe work, do you get a big rush of air bubbling through the wort when you first start to use the CFC and bypass? I found that annoying
These videos are really helpful thanks for making them. Quick question. Does the wort sit in the chiller after sparging and during the boil. Or is there a way to pump that out? Thanks
Interesting that the 3 way valve positions are completely different than standard 3 way valves. Since I use standard ones, I'm sure this system would mess me up
I'm pretty certain it's the same as standard maybe I've not explained something properly lol whatever the case you can take off the handle, clock the handle anyway you like.
@@PortlyGentleman Hey Bradley. I enjoy your channel. Let's say you have a standard 3 way valve connected to you kettle so the two lines are left or right. If the handle is toward you, the valve is closed, If your turn it left from this position the flow is left, Right the same thing, Facing away and toward the kettle flow will tbe in both directions. But of course you're right about switching the handle position. Happy Brewing brother
Here's a video you might find useful demonstrating the three way valves operation

Just wanted to say thanks! Finally got my B40 system and set it up today. This is absolutely phenomenal.

Thanks for the video! Keep them coming. You’re getting better at video, and editing too. Cheers.
Thank you very much
Also watched this one. Really want one of these systems. So versatile. Yet compact. What efficiencies are you getting average? Upper 70’s?
These days I'm in the mid '80s most of the time.
