HIT THE BELL & TELL A FRIEND ABOUT ME. - Розваги
Carlin wrote out every joke, every word, every pause. He worked harder than anyone in the biz.
True story
He saw and wrote it as a one man play. Most comedians do it like it's a one sided conversation.
Couple of shows his wife was credited for co-writing
Except perhaps Lucille Ball who wrote out every I Love Lucy episode including the pauses and "improvised" moments and all the facial expressions
@@susieq1565 his wife didn’t do shit
Carlin once described his job as pointing out ridiculous shit to people because "you already knew it was funny, you just forgot to laugh the first time"
💜
Goddamn Right!
I would love to hear Carlin's take on the state of the world today...
I never forget to laugh, Sometimes You Gotta Laugh to Keep from Crying
Loved it
"How does he do this?"
The man was a genius. Period. He had an extremely diverse vocabulary and a mind as sharp as a new razor blade.
He should have been President, even though he would have never done it. :)
"is the truth that hilarious?"
He had been doing that for a long time. like back since, something like 1959.
George Carlin holds up a mirror to America and says "shame on you" and everybody laughs. Genius.
He was one of the smartest teachers to have ever existed and his biggest asset was his way of presenting honesty in his humorous message!!!💙👍✌😃
Just got to love George Carlin, genius, truthful, in your face,
George Carlin was the best comedian to ever grace this Earth.
:)
He was the realest
Comedian and pholoshofer. Sory, for my English its not perfect. Hi from Greece.
"How is he able to do this, still have comedic timing, still be funny but be extremely intelligent on top of that?" Its because George was absolutely brilliant far and beyond ahead of his time. A true revolutionary, he opened a lot of peoples minds to a ton of shit going on in the world that is generally unacknowledged or at least was at the time. There will never be another on his level.
His own standards differed from others' standards. He noticed, marked it down, put it together. He had a goal, that is, to speak truth - something that was separate from what most accepted. He could do it without sounding like a hippie. He often presented a solution within his presentation as well.
Best put in History of the World Part I: Stand-Up Philosophy.
Patrice was on his way. Lewis Black is close, Chappelle is the next Carlin!
How was he able to deliver these precise monologues with the right comedic pauses and emphasis? A staggering work ethic and dedication to practicing the material. There is or was some footage of him rehearsing, and he was fanatical about getting it right so that he could deliver it consistently show after show. He was like a virtuoso musician dedicated to engaging and flawless performances. And to top it off, the material was top notch, thought provoking, and just the right amount of uncomfortable.
Part comedian, part philosopher, and brilliant in both aspects.
Carlin was like a musician up on the stage. He was riffing and finding notes nobody else could. Pure genius.
I’m a huge Carlin fan, but I think Chris Rock and Dave Chapelle are definitely in the same league. All of them brilliant minds, able to hold up the mirror to this country.
Comedy is so much about timing and intelligence, and Carlin was a wizard.
Check out Georges bit called "A Place for my stuff" its hysterical and often overlooked.
"Off to the pile!"
Yes was on n apart of his class clown special my fav that and Carlin at Carnegie I love life is worth losing
I had the privilege of seeing him live in concert in the 80’s in Tucson Arizona. I have never laughed so hard. RIP George we love you.
George was brilliant and there will never be anyone like him again. I hope someone comes close, one day.
“Is the truth that hilarious?” Strong point. Yes, it is. The absurdity of this culture is the basis of much of Carlin’s humor.
Brilliant, thoughtful comedian, whose razor-sharp analysis is sorely missed - so too the wit and and bon-môts of Christopher Hitchens.
And don rickles
I'm so glad I saw him 3 times live!!
Hitchens was an arrogant prick too tho, big difference IMO. Dawkins made many similar arguments without being an arsehole:)
and Rodney-sheesh, can't get no respect!
what this world needs today more than anything ... a dose of Hitch and George Carlin.
Check out his bit on the English language. It's one of my favorite bits. Especially his rant about airport language. Beautiful.
Even give ya the best link. ua-cam.com/video/11lEtj-MuMk/v-deo.html
Airports the best lol
George Carlin was brilliant.
You could be listening to him for days. Large catalog of material. Can you imagine what he would have to say today. Pure genius at its best.
I love that, Van Hall. "Thanks to our fear of aging and death, I won't have die. I'll just pass away. Or expire like a magazine subscription".
RIP George!
He was spot on, spot on. He opened your eyes and made you look around yourself and inside yourself. He touched the let me think nerve. You should react to his GERMS! monologue/routine. Then look around at what has gone down within this past year to us. You might think that he traveled though time, but he was a good judge of people and their reactions. He left us too soon. I can only wonder what he would say about our world today.
Love your reactions and your thoughts about George. Thank you for raising him up as the comic that he was/is.
P.S. He was married, but his wife died before he did (99'), and does have a daughter.
You're right - he tells the truth. Superb linguistic abilities. Doesn't tell silly jokes - tells truths & makes it a riot! Takes an intelligent person to do that.
His grasp of semantics was literally second to none.
Carlin told the American people what they didn't want (but NEEDED) to hear about themselves! No filter, no apologies, but LOVE at the same time! He was an amazing orator that made everyone think!! R.I.H. George!!
He’s brilliant! Your getting it! You have to understand we been following George for 4 or 5 decades
George Carlin was one in a million. A comedy genius and has a super human ability in the observation of the human condition.
This man never needed cue cards, it was all memorized.
I saw him in Las Vegas at Ballys during the start of his "You Are All Diseased" set and he used cards because he just came up with the set a couple days before. He was still great.
As @DJLEROTP stated, if it was new material, George did use cards or a teleprompter (as with his Man of the Millennium bit at the National Press Club).
I love George and sure do miss him. If you can find it play stuff one of his funniest!
It's his timing and delivery. Plus, he was just brilliant.
Carlin is a word genius. He puts em together like no one else
“Saving the planet” is probably my favorite bit from the professor years of Carlin. Definitely worth a watch if you haven’t already
I love George Carlin. His skits are long observations that make us go "holy shit he's got a point!"
I had the privilege of seeing George live! It was one of the greatest moments in my life!
George was an observational comedian....with an amazing vocabulary & a mental clarity few can claim~!!
He's able to do all that because he is a GENIUS.
The freedom fighters he was referring to were US backed rebels who were actually fighting freedom.....
I was going to say something similar. They were only called Freedom Fighters by the US Govt PR dept. Just a way to position them so a headline reading public wouldn't push back against our supporting them. Plus they had all the good cocaine.
He was the best. got to see him live two times. The thing I always found amazing and still do, is he could explain to people the importance of finding truth and logic in a sea of lies and doing it through comedy. But what was even more amazing then that was most people would just fall back to sleep after being slapped awake and slip right back into the lies and comfort of not questioning anything and doing as your told as according to plan. I would suggest “ It’s a big club and you ain’t in it “ if you haven’t already done so.
The reason he is able to do what he does is simple. He's special. Unbelievably talented. Shockingly smart. Someone who will never be replicated. He is the greatest of all time.
He wrote everything out. Every word, and memorized all of it.
He was a genius of his career, comedy was a great way to get a point across and have it stick in your head. A life long career in comedy and educating people along the way.
Genius is what he was and soooo far ahead of the rest of us!!!!!! Love it Van ❤
He's a genius. A rare gift, indeed!
George is the effing BEST!
THRUTH IS HILARIOUS
"previously owned transportation" always kills me lol 😂
As condescending as this Carlin quote sounds...“Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.” Ignorance is understandable, willful ignorance is inexcusable.
Okay, I'm getting that on a t-shirt. "Ignorance is understandable. Willful ignorance is inexcusable." - pfdtx
@@Victoria-hy4lj send me one 🤣
love George and you !,,,,
And You !,,,,,,thank you sooo much! Zane 👍💙
George always spoke from the heart
Watch football vs. baseball. Great way to look at the different sports in the comedic genius way that Carlin approaches everything. If you are a fan of either sport then you will definitely appreciate it.
Carlin is the GOAT. A modern philosopher that happened to be hilarious.
"How is he able to do this?" He was a comedian and brilliant naturally, then after becoming successful as a comedian, he went to college and he started writing his jokes as long essays. He also wrote books and audio books, those are even more hilarious than his stand up.
*MANY* hours of audiobooks and its all brilliant. Nobody even comes close.
George Carlin was one the most gifted comedians ever, right up there with Pryor and Williams and Bruce. He had been doing comedy for 30 years before he got to this point. His ability to speak truth and make it funny is truly the gold standard in comedy. THAT WHY your amazed. It's always amazing when you are exposed to real genius. Real genius appears simple, almost easy but it truly belays the talent behind it. RIP George, they'll never be another you.
George Carlin Baseball vs. Football is hilarious! guaranteed big laughs from that one.
He’s been around for decades… and even when he was on Flip Wilson show and still so young he had such brilliant insight😂. My favorite early George Carlin was when he portrayed the hippy dippy weather man and Flip did the news… so funny then and still funny now. He experienced and lived through the decades where things were changing in the world and the genius in that, to me, is he figured out what was really going on and why and he delivered it to the people. One of a kind.. RIP George❤️
George Carlin taught me the necessity of learning to think deep. After awhile I could see the absurdity and it was stupid not clever just stupid. To get others to listen and care, the best delivery of all his knowledge was humor. He was brilliant.
Man, you are one nice, really cool dude! Someone I could hang out with and just enjoy life and laugh at it’s absurdities! I just found you today not ten minutes ago. Thanks for reacting to George Carlin!!
Thank you for your kind words!! Appreciate it
Many comedians are truly brilliant.
He memorized it, that’s how he did it. It’s why doesn’t like extended laugh breaks. He’s always trying to get the crowd to calm down, and if you pay attention you’ll notice he repeats things through the applause so he doesn’t lose his spot in his head.
On top of the benefits of becoming proficient in this foreign language is to be able to enjoy George Carlin on his own words. A true Master!
He's very honest. And some people say he was angry at shows they attended. But hilarious.
THE GREATEST COMEDIAN OF ALL TIME!!
In my opinion.
LFR
You are also educating people. You have good words for the world today .
Thank you.
Carlin did an entire other bit in this vein as a spin-off on the joke about pre-boarding at the airport. It is called Flying on the Airlines or Airline Announcements. He actually was very interested in language and made many forays in lampooning how we communicate. Even his breakout performance, "The 7 Words You Can't Say on TV" was among his set examples of this.
He was a genius!!! Pure genius!!!
Airlines and flying is a classic 👌🏻
Genius.... Pure and not so simple
George Carlin, Expressions and Sayings. That’s a pretty funny bit to watch.
I love watching Carlin with you, cause you get him, & you’re open to his knowledge & skepticism of religion, by recognizing great acts like this, as sermons! ✊
Great reaction. George Carlin is classic and refreshingly honest. RIP-he was and is a true genius.
He is a master of words!
He said what no one else would.
I wish George Carlin was still with us today. Sometimes the truth hurts but it's the truth.
I am absolutely Loving that you keep watching George. 😂 We need more open minds in this world. Happy New Year... Don't forget to yell Jumanji at midnight. 🎉😁
Carlin was a philosopher. His father was an award winning poet and his mother worked in advertising. His whole life was built around words and how to use them.
"How does he do this??"
This is why George is the best, still! You see, with George, there is not such a thing as "was", George IS! STILL!
Carlin pointed out in an interview that he was constantly working on his skits in comedy clubs. This was his job every day all day. The HBO specials were the culmination of all of his hard work.
exactly, he perfected his routine during his club performances
He did have punchlines. He just did it in his own timing. That's why he's top tier. Because he changed the game in a way. Think about it in music. Sure, many artists are good and great, but only a few go beyond that and enter god tier haha
"i won't have to die, I'll pass away" is not only a punchline, but a fucking amazing one.
The thing I loved about George was the brutal honest observations he would make on cultural issues. The whole album from which this track derives observes and makes fodder of language, descriptive or otherwise, that came from various movements over time.
I was around 8 or 9 the first time I watched a special of his. The bit that stands out was 'A Place for my Stuff.'
Carlin is a master. Comic genius who educates. My favourite comedian of all-time! Good reactions!
I enjoy your videos. It’s great to watch someone enjoying Carlin’s common sense brand of genius. I like that you watch with your kids. I’ve commented before, my 8th grade teacher introduced me to his humor in 1974 when I was 13. My husband and myself took my boys to see him, live, they were 10 or so. My surviving son, mentioned that and watching him together on TV as one of his favorite family memories. That boy, now a man tells the truth. Makes some folks uncomfortable. Makes his Momma proud.
Just looked it up it was February 19, 2007. They were 8.
He is literally telling people his experiences. Any American can get a good laugh when he adds truth to the life of all of us.
Comedians generally just shift our perspective to shine a light on reality. Carlin, Cosby, Pryor, Murphy, Seinfeld, and a few others are masters of this Carlin was the mental king of the crop.
You have just nailed something here. You have studied to become a minister, method of delivery of sermons. George was raised in the Catholic church, listening to priests stamping out their sermons on Sundays, the twist being that George is using this method for his philosophical views......😃 It works!!!
You probably DO appreciate this on a level that MANY people can't. The rhythm, the timing, the cadence. He is a lot more like a minister than almost any other comic you could name. Personally, I always thought of his style as almost musical, but that's just another way of saying basically the same thing. LFR = Sharp.
Carlin started with pony tail and beard 1970. Ya gotta love the intellect of the man. He is sorely missed today.
I love George Carlins' comedy and I love LFR FAM reactions..I actually didn't know who he was until I watched you...(lol i was here for " reacts to RAMMSTEIN" but have stayed for many other things I would have never seen. Thank you and Jojo for being amazingly awesome duo and loce to you ❤!!!
Carlin
The world is simple, but the reality that we've created for ourselves is unnecessarily convoluted.
I believe George Carlin is a most truthful person. He has brought to light and confirmed many of the beliefs I've held (but not allowed to utter as not to offend an elder and/or company for fear of being perceived as rude/incorrigible and, as a result, embarrassing my mother) from the time I was very young. (My sister- older- kept her "lip zipped") Oh, how I struggled with that!
For me George was the best! His mind-boggling memory astounded me! There are ,and was lots of great! John Pinette will be missed as well! Peace all!
Carlin was a truth telling hilarious genius
This guy is the definition of a real one !
The man was a genius and people who watch him pick up on it. Hes not afraid of telling it how it is with no apology. His style of comedy is an art form. He is missed by his fans that understand
He will make you think but then you'll laugh he is the best
I've seen this routine before. Many times, actually. But I sure liked watching it again with you.
He found humor in truth, highly intelligent.
Flying on the airlines!
George was a genius and a brave one.
He's holding a mirror up to us and pointing out our blemishes.
George Carling was a genius in comedy and the English language. He always pointed to truths and the hilarity that comes with burying even the most simple of things. He never took stupid at face value; instead, he made fun of it.
I really enjoy your reactions, and come by often. But I think your best reactions are offered around George Carlin and your analysis of his comedy and the intelligence, indeed genius, behind it. He is immortalized with many other fantastic comedians at the National Comedy Center in Jamestown NY, something George Carlin's daughter played an important role in helping to get off the ground, along with Lucy Arnez, Lucille Ball's daughter. I think you would love the place and the very deep dive they take into the role comedy plays in our world. It's not just a place of static exhibits, though there is much to see there. It's also a place of real examination and introspection about how comedy reflects back to us the real world we live in, and makes us laugh at ourselves in a way few other means of expression allow. I think you'd truly appreciate it. Anyway, thanks for the great work you do on your channel. Its great stuff.
Love George Carlin
