Regarding the Shop, I'd say allow it to be re-checked specifically after getting the Books and specifically to check for Souls called for by the Books if they have not already been obtained (if logic would permit that), and if one gets wasted after getting something, they *must* go back and get it again. Also shopping for food is probably fine. Regarding the second Kaladbolg, OBJECTION! If you had found it as a random drop that'd be one thing, but finding it loose as a non-respawning sample, I would've said use it again. That said, it can be forgiven since you didn't end up hitting anything with Durandal between finding the second Kaladbolg and Gram anyway. You also didn't notice a scarf you found once.
Oof, that fire on the top floor is hard to look at. Probably should mention it to fuse to do something to avoid a possible seizure warning from the color swap patch with that effect.
A very interesting challenge, though personally I'd say that duplicates should count, because that makes it a bit more interesting. Yes, some people may go back and farm for whatever souls they prefer using, but they'd mostly be wasting time (a MASSIVE no-no for a speedrun) and still have just as much of a risk losing them if they pick up a random zombie/skeleton/une soul later.
even then I just see no reason to go back and abuse it, this is a self imposed challenge, wouldn't it be stupid to abuse something like that and essentially cheese through the challeng you imposed on yourself ???
It’s not the first time you use this patch, but I have to say that areas like the Underground Reservoir and most enemies look fantastic with a darker colour palette.
Does it happen very often with these randomizers that you get a softlock, due to not being able to find abilities necessary for progression, like malphas or bat company?
Shouldn't happen unless you use a setting that requires glitches / exploits. Meaning you most porbably missed the right check. Progression is never on monsters, always on soul candles.
There's an ultra rare and specific circumstance that came up in a level 1 MAX run recently that *technically* wasn't a softlock, but getting mindups to Bat to the top of the waterfall room was such a torturous idea that Jupiter opted not to even bother and just guess on gram. Second try for that at least. Level 1 mp + no mind ups + no hippogryph + no duplicate + a required check in in that very specific spot It happened in this run: ua-cam.com/video/TQH8S6KyY1U/v-deo.html
not really; i'd say aria and the DSvanias are pretty rock-solid with placing items and souls at one point i was tinkering with harder logic for aria but, lol
How about you get to shop once per shop upgrade for 3 total, and they must be used before you upgrade the shop again, or are lost? For spice, you could add a 'no repeats' rule to prevent buying the same thing multiple times, and force someone to route out when they take advantage of their early lucky shop items.
Lmao I literally thought of the name Dimitri Mode before clicking on the video, and thought about commenting it here, thankfully I waited and saw you mention it a few minutes later! Honestly as lame a villain as Dimitri was, he had a pretty cool power.
o yeah that does sound cool and perfect. as his whole stick was only to copy one current monster. and for awhile i thought about doing a dimitri run. which is basically this. but allow clothing to be freely chosen
I have an idea for a run but idk if its possible. Every time you kill an enemy your weapons, gear, etc is randomized with exceptions to key items for progression
yeah i agree duplicates should be a no no. imagine a very easy drop from say skeleton gives red minotaur. then people will run back and farm it. but also shop only once and 2 items max. no saving. dying is run end. no sleep resume? because that looks cheesy. that would make for some interesting runs.
Nice. I might do these. No enemy scaling tho, that would ruin my time, I'm not this good at the game. Shoutout to sky fish tho, more than tripled weak Soma's dmg
Not gonna spoil much here because it is a great run to watch. Just wanna say: *SPOILERS* Daaaaaaaaaaamn you got sooooo good at Chaos. You just straight up obliterated him with that wonky build of yours, much respect.
Now do a speed run without any Souls other than those required for story progression. (Panther allowed) unless you want to make it harder. So basically you cannot kill an enemy and get a soul. If you are unlucky enough to get a soul drop you need to restart. But if a soul drops and you leave area before you collect it and not get it that is allowed. I feel this would be a good challenge. Obviously boss souls are progression souls.
I'm glad that you liked my idea of this run. HoD in this format would be hell :D
You called it :)
Can u give me the link of the patch ?
I can't find it
I love various new school Castlevania randomised runs so much, thank you for uploading!
I did a run like this a while back. Was surprised how well it works to be honest. It can be real difficult in areas, but its super satisfying to play.

I always like how the little armor dances at the end. XD

Agreed. After 20 years I am so sick of how bright the starting part of the castle is lol
Would love to see more of this Jup. Very enjoyable
Seeing the silver gun go was sad ngl.
R.I.P. Silver gun. We hardly knew ye.
I wish the stats were randomized as well. Maybe in Dawn that would be better!
so kinda like sotn but not really :D
binging your videos, where do you find these mods? id love to do these randomizers or even the iron souls etc...
when you punch the fish to death lmaoooo
lol this killed me
would love to see more runs like this one
Soma and most enemies look great but those backgrounds are gaudy af.
This is my favorite run type. Holy crap that was entertaining!
Always had a soft spot for Aria of Sorrow.
This was a blast to watch, i really wanna see this idea in competitive runs
im hoping theres a randomizer like this in the future where you're forced to use my favorite weapon: balmung
Does it happen very often with these randomizers that you get a softlock, due to not being able to find abilities necessary for progression, like malphas or bat company?

This was such i fun idea, now thing of doing this for dawn or portrait

Its just me or you didn't checked and equipped the drop from ectoplasm
13:20 He said OHH ASCALOM I laughed so hard
Early Hypogryph was lucky
Is this on an emulator? Been looking for somewhere to get old castlevania games for years.
Lmao I literally thought of the name Dimitri Mode before clicking on the video, and thought about commenting it here, thankfully I waited and saw you mention it a few minutes later! Honestly as lame a villain as Dimitri was, he had a pretty cool power.

Now i want to see a run like this on every Castlevania Randomizer
Do you prefer the Symphony of the night recolor or the standard recolor by JG?
Both are great, but definitely prefer the SotN recolor
@@JupiterClimb thanks for the response, I'll be sure to check it out when replay on deck soon!
Sky Fish Kaiser Knuckle, Fist of God build.
Today I Learned: You can cancel Hippogryph's momentum with Bat.
What do you mean by "check"?
Maybe something similar to this run, but instead of equipping whatever you find you have to equip the weakest weapons, armor, and accessory you have?
The Floating Gardens has always felt a strange area to me.
That was a lot of fun, JC
I have an idea for a run but idk if its possible. Every time you kill an enemy your weapons, gear, etc is randomized with exceptions to key items for progression
Yo let's go! I suggested a idea like this a while ago
Can you play this on ps5?
yeah i agree duplicates should be a no no.
imagine a very easy drop from say skeleton gives red minotaur. then people will run back and farm it.
but also shop only once and 2 items max. no saving. dying is run end. no sleep resume? because that looks cheesy.
that would make for some interesting runs.
what is randomizer ,is it a mod or something?
Thoughts on Bloodstained ritual of the night?
nice run
i have an idea for this, if you equip a movement soul you forgo your current attacking blue/yellow soul you replaced with it
Nice. I might do these. No enemy scaling tho, that would ruin my time, I'm not this good at the game.
Shoutout to sky fish tho, more than tripled weak Soma's dmg
Any way to play normal Aria with this exact same color palette, it looked amazing. Also what a though challenge.
Absolutely! You can find it here: www.romhacking.net/hacks/6301/
@@JupiterClimb Thank you so much.
Maybe you should do this challenge in PoR
Not gonna spoil much here because it is a great run to watch. Just wanna say:
*SPOILERS*
Daaaaaaaaaaamn you got sooooo good at Chaos. You just straight up obliterated him with that wonky build of yours, much respect.
Mandatory Pancake

I think duplicates are fine, as long as you don't farm
Shadow knight carry lol
You should do a Aria random run with no healing items only save rooms to restore hp.
Duplicates not counting wouldve kinda helped you with Olrox lmao
I get these rules are made up on the spot but I cant help but to laugh at that
This color palette uses too much green. Meh.
