In fact the hack is made by a highschooler in China called "carefreeX6" . Rumor says that he can do MIDI rearrangement technic for GBA and he translated several fire emblem GBA hacks to China.
idk i feel like trying to "fix" a metroidvania by removing skips and making it harder is always going to be less fun than just putting new wacky things in
Honestly removing some skips that make it so that while the map is more open it's absolutely not intended, but not all of them, is perfectly fine. It's all about finding that balance between actual skips and such and more "intended" progression. Also making it harder is more of a "depends on how you balance it" kind of thing. Some things being harder like the double Death fight? Good, that's actually a fun challenge.
Igavania's are already pretty challenging, so making them harder just seems like overkill to me, but I'll admit it makes for fun YT videos showcasing that, lol
Making a half-hour long battle arena REQUIRED to fight Balor just makes me think that people only make these hacks for streamers to gawk at nowadays. No normal person in current year would waste all that time on such a monotonous grind. I'd have quit if I found that out. Very, very easy way to lose my respect.
It's a shame. Early on they had some good ideas on changing progression and player power but threw it all out the window in Arena and then ran out of ideas on how to change the formula so they threw switches everywhere. Guaranteed Claimh is a mistake in Aria, always. It's just too powerful and getting it before you get access to bat-locked items just makes all of those completely pointless. Like, what are you going to do with Vjaya at that point? I liked the dive kick puzzle to get it, but it needed to be somewhere out of the way alongside the double death fight
Watched the first few minutes and then decided to play it myself first. Kicker Skeleton as progression is just sheer evil if that is the intended route. It led me finally to backdash, so lets hope one of the backdash gates is actual progression, otherwise I will be out of ideas. Edit: especially some of these candle jumps that lead to dead-ends, as they are basically the other side to a barrier shortcut. I hope no-one did that jump to the Claimh legitimately, such a troll.
You just saved me a lot of hussle, as I was just uncapable to make the candle kick climb to get Galamoth. I just went and checked, and I got Hippogryph, so now I can advance. I wanted to make a full clear anyway, so the rest of the exploration won't be so bad, I hope. Thanks! Definitely a huge amount of questionable decissions on this hack.
So APPARENTLY you can do the Claimh/Galamoth candle parkour part too early and run into a button-required wall AFTER DOING THE WHOLE JUMPING PUZZLE. All that work, and nothing to show for it.
Yo, how's it going Jupiter. I wanted to know what was in the clock tower long hallway boss door. Did you ever look to see what that was. There was also another long hallway that led to Top Floor as well. By the way, you had the chance to buy weapons from Hammer. Did you end up checking some of the stuff that he had before you did the Arena Boss Rush? I know you didn't want to check out graham but I was curious to know if there was another button by him or anything interesting in Chaos that you could show us. Maybe something like a Bonus content video or something of the sort. I definitely agree with you though that this hack is pretty bad. But honestly the double death boss fight was EPIC as hell. I also liked the double Shadow Knight room. Some of those rooms were absolutely insanely good. I just wish the balancing near the end was buffed up to the extreme.
This hack did look great for a while, but yeah don’t blame ya for clipping to the ending. I’m guessing the switch was bat locked somewhere and maybe the other required souls were also?
If it's not made for a speed runner then it's not made for anyone, cuz forced jumpkick puzzles, forced arena, switches that don't tell you what they unlock or where, and required souls that aren't where they're supposed to be nor gated behind bosses weeds out a ton of people. Maybe it's meant for masochists.
@Lauro-j8h They didn't curb shit. Did you not watch the video till the end? The only way for JupiterClimb to finish the game was to literally use a speedrunner trick to GLITCH into the final area! In other words, ONLY a speedrunner could have actually finished this game , cuz the fucking developer decided it would be a good idea to hide the NECESSARY shit you need to progress beyond the Grahm fight! Ain't no way a regular nobody is gonna have the time or patience to literally farm every soul of every enemy in the game, on the OFF chance that one of them is Flame Demon. Quite frankly, I'm not so sure that the developer even put Flame Demon's soul back into the game. They clearly just gave up after the Double Death Arena, SINCE LITERALLY EVERYTHING AFTER THAT IS FUCKING VANILLA. So even if you torture yourself to find the Flame Demon's soul with literally ZERO clue where it might be, your reward is... the exact same fucking bosses and fights as in the regular game. Ain't no freaking reason to play this shit then. Unless you're a masochist, I suppose.
Started out strong but made some really questionable choices. Would not have put buttons in places that had nothing to do with the wall locations. Would not have done dive kick mandatory candle section. Would have redesigned the arena ending so people didn't accidentally skip the button. Basically just the entire middle and end game needs a rework.
I love the recolor. a lot of Aria recolors look to much like SOTN and it doesn't look right because Aria clearly wasn't drawn with that in mind. This maintains the original pallet but with more lush colors.
Does anyone have a description of the endgame stuff he skipped over, if anything was changed or notable? Shame that dumb candle room and the Battle Arena made him snap.
I finished it, got all the souls but the progress says 99.1% hence I can't get the chaos ring, what a bummer. you can get the flame demon's soul in the place where you need that giant bat soul to get through, this is near the teleporter in the dance hall, you'll have to fight a really buffed great armor. while the succubus' soul also in a different place, this is in the part of the church where the ceiling is really high. I recommend getting hippogryph soul before getting the 2 souls, using the tiny devil soul can get you this very easily. EDIT: looks like I just forgot to take the undine soul, it is there but easily left behind. but yeah you can still get the chaos ring.
this gives me big Nocturne in the Moonlight for Saturn vibes. EDIT: This no longer gives me Nocturne in the Moonlight vibes. you soured on this REALLY quick, damn. :(

If only the battle arena gave you bat, the author toned down the massive amount of stone gates, and give panther earlier so the endgame backtracking is way more bearable. And maybe cap the max level at 30 or something so you don't steamroll everything at the end. (Also maybe remove Claimh and put it into another challenge during Chaos realm, sort of like ultra challenge for the sweaty gamers). Still I wanna play it at some point, I enjoy grinding and exploring every bit of map. Curious where flame demon and succubus is hidden (plz dont spoil, thanks).
I am about to finish this hack 100% and I got to say, whish I found out about the hyppo skip, by the time you grind in order to take on the death twins in the arena, the rest of the game will be such a pushover, Also, also, the hack does feature some interesting cuts and alternate routes, the other 2 dracula souls lend right near a big ""hallway"" that connects 5 locations of the castle at once
Ouch. This hack seems like it has the start of some interesting ideas, but the overall design and difficulty curve is poor and arbitrary. Nah, backtracking is fine when it's obvious where you have to go and what you have to do. But this hack is far too confusing and tedious.
