- This is the complete duet/medley from Doris Day’s 1971 TV Special. They sing six songs: “When You Were Sweet Sixteen”, “Everybody Loves A Lover”, “Quiet Nights Of Quiet Stars”, “Summertime”, “If I Had My Life To Live Over”, and “Let Me Call You Sweetheart”. The entire show was stunning, from the set colors, to the excellent vocals by Doris and Perry.

Doris Day was an angel. Perry Como was an angel, too.
I thought Doris Day was the most charming actress I have ever seen in movies and Perry Como was the most charming gentleman I have seen on TV. What happens when two of the most charming people work together? Something good.
The Perry Como style has come back from fashion, haircuts, radio and especially color. Perry has a huge fan base to this day since MIG alley.

Sometime you just have to sit down with people and take them on a tour. The whole thing of travelling is a mind scape. Close your eyes; breathe deeply while lying down. We can go anywhere. However; I always have to pack my Tweety Bird Pez along with me while flying, driving or on track. Walking for that matter.

The next year, Perry went public with his gripe with Doris. According to Perry, he worked for nothing with the agreement Doris would work on his next special for nothing. Stars often did this to save tax money. In fact, Doris guested on John Denver's special, and vice versa. But when it came time to shoot Perry's show, Doris refused to do it. He called her out in the press as "an ice cream cone," whatever that means. If you've ever seen the whole Doris show, at the end, Perry tosses his costume in the fake lake.

@@fasbc Perry Como agreed to do her show without being paid if she would agree to do his next show with no pay for mutual compensation. Sadly, she never kept her part of the bargain. After years with no compensation whatsoever, he was forced to sue her for his payment on this TV special.🥺
