....they always Looked good with the wire wheels....gangsta Look.
Definitely, first mags I ever brought were 13x7 hotwires for my Toyota SR Coupe. The wire wheels in this video are very old. Appliance Wires.
Awesome car mate, I had a green 1 back in the late 90s early 2000s wish I still had it
I'm definitely glad my dad said No to the 100 or so people that wanted to take parts or buy this one!
Good luck with it
Is a good starting point 👍👍
Thankyou
308 the great.
Had one in my HG ute, brilliant engine.
Def leave the patina as is and clear it.
Great to see it hiding in a shed here in NZ.
The patina with bare metal where the rust repairs are done, clear coat and all good!
Sweet👍👍
A restoration would be nice. Fresh paint job the works. I just subscribed and can't wait to see more. Im a kiwi watching from Aussie
Thanks heaps for subscribing and watching, restoration underway. My next video will be wheel arches and dog leg. Paul my restoration guy is on another level with his fabrication.
@@The-State-of-it yeah man for sure. Like someone else commented, we have rare spares here in Brissie and while they have really good replacement parts, Paul's work is indeed stronger and on another level I agree 👍
classic holden bud, will watch with interest .
Cool story mate 👌
Thanks, hopefully the story continues with getting it ready for beach hop 25!
Ooof!, she looks like the business on those Modgies.
Cheers I reckon they will look good against the raw steel rust repair sections.
สวัสดี ฉันมาจากไทยเเลนด์
ขั้นตอนการทำงาน เเละวิดีโอของคุนมันยอดเยี่ยมมาก👍
Thankyou mate 👍
Awesome.stuff .. love the colour . I'm in the process of doing a hx premier in royal plum .. rare colour ..
Thankyou, certainly the goal to keep the purple as is. Will be a challenge with compliance regulations but reckon we can do it!
Great video.
Thankyou, kind of wish I could do it again now I know how to edit a video a bit better but the story remains the same!
@@The-State-of-it pretty impressive start. I’ve already subscribed. I’m confident this channel will be a success.
Appreciate the support, cheers.
hi Is it a Statesman Deville ??? Very un common power steer aircon electric windows with Gold pattern interior . Yes u have alot of Deville only options . Radio antenna was typically in rear qtr [might have been electric versions only?] No head rests ?? might be a very early unit after 71-72 head rests required . Whatever u do donot pimp /boy racer style .
Hi Paul, yes it's a Deville. Unfortunately I can't reply with a photo on the comments section but I have a photo of something that I think you may be really interested in seeing.
lol, the Raspberry Coke incident. Also the hotwires look mean too.
My folks use to own a one two Barbados green in think it was a 253 cool classic car those mags make it look much better too 😎👍
Cheers, check out towards the end of my other video, I have these hotwire type rims on but thinking I'll go the chromes. Only down side to 15s is tyres. You can get new Bridgestone Eagers in 14s.
will be watching with interest mate. my 2nd car was a Hq Statesman (export model so rego say its a Chevrolet) and have had it for 30yrs now, drove it for 4yrs then stripped it for a rebuild and took nearly 20yrs to get it back on the the road due to kids and a mortgage, I dropped an LS1 and 4L60e trans in it so she can be used as a daily, upgraded brakes with VX booster and master cylinder. body is straight and rust free, but paint and interior are rough, so no worries about chucking the dogs in to go for a walk or parking at the supermarket to do the shopping.
P.S I also have 2 more parked in an old chicken coop I want to rebuild for the kids.
Wow that's cool, I'm certainly grateful dad kept this one, must have had 100 people try to buy it or want parts.
was it a Chev badged 350 ? My mum had one new in NZ, cream /beige colour with a tan vying top . The only one I ever saw in NZ.
No this is a factory 308 Holden engine. A very rear car in NZ, I have never seen a Chevi badges Statesman. There was one on trade me a while ago though.
Love ya work brother ..can't wait to ride in that bad boy again
Cheers bro, we'll be parked up at Manu Bay one day soon!
Good luck mate i was born in 71 - bloody good year that
Thankyou, feel free to use my line about there only being 1 way to look this good and its takes 51 years!
i would do full restoration it deserves it
Definitely deserves it. Restoration well underway now, I'll be uploading a video today or maybe tomorrow which will show the latest rust repair and fabrication progress and d I've got a few other videos that show the tear down if your interested. Thanks for watching.
nice video mate, looking fwd to seeing the build progress. the Patina look will be awesome on that, good choice 👍
Thankyou, yeah with being able to see the welds and repair work I think it will be quite an intriguing car to look at. I'll keep an eye on your build progress too 👍
Sort after car the old HQ statesman my dad had one too a maroon 74 model when I was a kid but his was kept in show room condition he ended up selling to one of mates on the Goldcoast never seen the car again he spent ten grand on the engine and box and lost interest after losing a race to his other mates 351 LTD
@@michaelbyrnes7944 definitely worth the effort. Obviously would have been good if it was in better condition buy at least he kept it. I've got a heap more progress need to get back on the videos been slacking.
Subscribed .
Looking forward to following keen to see whats involved in revinning and getting it back on the road.👍
Thankyou, yeah I have been learning loads about compliance and I'll definitely share everything I can on that. It seems what NOT to do, is just as important as what to do!
Restore it to new mate,💲
so what part of the country you at mate? im a upholsterer and I be keen to help you out .
Hey mate, in the waikato, it will pretty much just be roof lining, re foaming the seats, new carpet. Want to have a situation where if people are drinking beers and spilling their McDonald's it's no big deal.
@@The-State-of-it so call autodec carpets, they can usually supply already made carpets you just fit, easy.
how original do you want to go with car? we could just glue foam backed material to the roof ,or you could possibly get a already made one via aussie,to make one from scratch can be costly and a bit of time.
seats not a prob.
where in waikato?i work in pokono.
hi Please please spend the money on the Aircon
Please overhaul all the electric windows properly .
I have a fully optioned Q Premier elec windows etc just been fully done .
Check out the photo at this link, facebook.com/groups/1570793069879724/permalink/3197315603894121/?mibextid=Nif5oz
@@The-State-of-it Yes get that framed will bump the price of your car or at the very least make it more desirable .
Remember an original car only happens once in its life .
There are people who can claim they can rebuild these window motors .
They DONOT RUBBER COAT for rust protection as per factory
CANNOT PROVIDE CORRECT ELECTRIC MOTOR BRUSH SIZE
Donot connect negative / earth brush lead properly .
I found the brushes overseas imperial dimensions and common with GM
I sand blasted motors but a plug needs to be made to replace the drive gear . Only use glass bead or ultrafine grit as u will destroy the screw threads .
Sounds like you have done a nice job restoring and have the knowledge. Be interesting to see a photo.
Thats looks fukn mean mate
Cheers mate!
You talk too much
Thankyou I'm flattered but I already have a wife.
