    Hey stephanie,
    I just want to say that I have recently gotten into dessert cooking and it's all thanks to you! I never use anyone else's recipes. And I just want to thank you for not being cheesy and fake happy and screamy and just annoying like most other cooking channels so THANKYOU! You have lessened my depression by getting me off the couch to bake and you may not realise how cooking 1 little recipe can really impact someone's life so thankyou so so much.

    I'll be honest. As much as I love pumpkin pie, and as much as I love butternut squash, I would have never thought of putting a butternut squash within a pie. But now I must make it, and I know I'm gonna be my most happy self when I get to cut into it to have that first bite! Thank you so so much for being a blessing to me and others. I've been through a lot, but your videos and hearing your voice when you are doing your demonstrations just brighten my day! I am actually going to either be making a chocolate cake or one of the loaf styled poundcakes soon.

    This taught me to make the closest thing to pumpkin pie you can make in Australia! Love it. I will always come back to this video to make it again. (This is my second time and I really burnt my pie crust. I will be prepared to use foil this time!)

    I usually cut up 3 squash pedi and cut up in chunks, add a little water and cook until tender, pour off excess water and use emulsion blender, can use stand mixer. I add white sugar, brown sugar, vanilla flavoring and cinnamon to taste. Good consistency. Bake pie crust until very light brown and fill with filling and cook on 325% until lightly firm.

    Great recipe Stephanie. If I were to use a glass pie pan vs metal, do I lower the oven temp or cooking time?

    • @joyofbaking
      @joyofbaking  7 років тому

      While my preference is metal, you can use glass. Because glass is a poorer conductor of heat then metal, the pie will probably take longer to bake. Some say to reduce the oven temperature given in the recipe by 25 F (15 C).

    Looks delicious again Stephanie! I wonder how you can make everything so perfect! I normally make the sweets when you post them on UA-cam, but I can not make it this time because there's no butternut available in Holland. Then I'm probably going to make anything else this weekend... I was thinking to make your angel food cake again :-)

    Hi Stephanie. This pie looks so delicious! Why didn't you blind bake the crust instead of using the ginger cookie crumbs?

    • @joyofbaking
      @joyofbaking  7 років тому +1

      You can prebake the pie crust if you prefer. The cookie crumbs help keep the crust from becoming soft even after the pie is baked.

  • @jovan5397
    @jovan5397 7 років тому +1
