    Love that fresh pristine cast iron top. Wish it could stay that way forever.

    Good Video thanks, i totally agree on using a Sliding mechanism being a Game Changer after you get used to using one it’s almost like how did i do this without one ? for myself i was lucky to spend over 35 years working for a Architectual Woodworking Company that had 2 Sliding Table Saws at my disposal in our shop in a 100,000 Sq/Ft facility

      After that every saw feels like a contractor saw I bet. Lol.

    How difficult was it to get the saw from the pallet onto the industrial mobile base? It seems to be very heavy.

      It was very heavy. Requires 2+ people but I am stubborn. LOL

    Was your slider table coplanar with the cast extension wing? Mine is not and I’m not sure if there is an adjustment or how to fix it. Mine is pitched down towards the saw.

    • @VoeltnerWoodworking
      @VoeltnerWoodworking  2 роки тому

      Mine was fine when I set it up. There is a plastic washer that goes under the fence to raise it above the cast iron surface if yours is scraping on the cast. It’s the white plastic washer for the metal knob. Make sure that is under the fence and it should do the trick. Sorry for the late response on this.

    How big is your shop? I want this saw but not sure if it would fit in my one car garage that is 20x10.

    • @VoeltnerWoodworking
      @VoeltnerWoodworking  9 місяців тому

      It’s two car width but with an extra workshop area in back. The dimensions should be listed on the Sawstop website to see if it will work for you.

    What is the overall width of your exact setup from slider edge to opposite end of the saw (as well as unextended slider fence to other end of saw? I need to see if this setup would work at the entrance of my 2-car garage door with enough room to manage full sheets on the slider if I move the saw to one side of the garage. Thanks in advance!

    • @VoeltnerWoodworking
      @VoeltnerWoodworking  Рік тому +1

      With the slider and router extension wing it’s 92” wide and 52” deep (not extended). When the slider is extended it’s 82” deep. It works great for cutting full sheets.

    It looks like our saw setup is identical. I left the left-side iron wing on as well and mounted the slicer back like you did. How close do you have your slider to the blade. I've noted that this sliding fence isn't very good for small pieces at an angle (because the fence is a long ways from the blade). Any advice there, or get a smaller slot slider for smaller items?

    • @VoeltnerWoodworking
      @VoeltnerWoodworking  2 роки тому

      I have it set up with standard distance, including the left cast wing. When angled it is a bit further away then I would use it, so for that type of application it's best to attach a sacrificial fence to get closer to the blade. I also have a Harvey MG-36 miter gauge that works perfectly for smaller pieces, so I use that quite often. I hope that helps! Happy to answer any other questions. I appreciate you watching and commenting.

    Hello. The end of the fence touches the opposite side, so could you tell me a solution? It's so uncomfortable, but I can't solve it

    Very well done video.
    I was wondering, did you have to cut the rails on your saw with the mounting configuration you went with? I've been hesitating getting this slider due to everyone, including SawStop, saying that the rails must be cut. I have no place in my area that can do that for me.
    Thanks

    • @VoeltnerWoodworking
      @VoeltnerWoodworking  2 роки тому

      I have the PCS and did not have to cut the rails. I believe the rails need to be cut if you have the contractor version. Which saw do you have?

    • @ZunarZulfiqar
      @ZunarZulfiqar 2 роки тому +1

      @@VoeltnerWoodworkingMuch appreciated for the response. That's what I was thinking as well due to the rails not extending beyond the cast iron wing. Thanks for the confirmation. I run an ICS by the way.

    • @VoeltnerWoodworking
      @VoeltnerWoodworking  2 роки тому

      You bet. I think you’d be ok, but worst case scenario you can pick up a metal cutting hand saw.

    • @ZunarZulfiqar
      @ZunarZulfiqar 2 роки тому +1

      @@VoeltnerWoodworking Yeah. I bet a good quality hacksaw would cut it, but I'll need a whole tin of elbow grease as the metal is ridiculously thick. I'm pretty sure I should be good though.

    Did you find your Image1Impact Sooper Edge anywhere special for a better price? It's been in my wish list of stuff for a long time and just waiting for a reason to buy it. It is a little pricey even if it is very nice.

      @@VoeltnerWoodworking @2:25 you used a purple straight edge. It looks like the tool that comes from the vinyl wrap and sign industry. Happens to be made by Image1Impact and the model is Sooper Edge. The blue version is Big Blue. I can't see logo super clear but it looked like that product. I can even see the integrated stainless cutting edge. Could be a coincidence but it sure looks like the tool I'm thinking of.

      Ahhhh…I’m with you. I honestly didn’t know that was the name of it. I’ve had it for many years and think it was given to me. It works great as a straight edge and I have used it for vinyl work as well. Highly recommend.

      Haha. I'll splurge eventually. The hard strip inside is a really good selling point for using a knife and cutting leather. Seeing you using it for shop stuff is awesome. I'd be doing the same, like I do with all tools crossing over hobbies.

    The Saw Stop sliding table fence is defective. In order to correct this Saw Stop recommends spending another $200 to purchase the new and improved fence.
