Today we break down the basics of becoming a better scout aka sniper in Battlefield 1 and in the process a better teammate. Artwork by Shadow6ix - / shadow6ix
xFactor joins a game everyones reving him and droping him health and ammo.. I join a game, medics trample on my corpse not giving a fuck and looking at me confused when im on 10 hp begging for some meds..
Indzo there should be a number count on the spawn screen of how many of each class are on the map so if you see there are only 2 medics playing on your team you can be a medic. that would help balance the game better.
yeah gotta love some of the medics in this game you see them closing in on you so you wait thinking yes gonna get a revive and they run straight over your body leaving you thinking what the fuck are you doing.
I am a cod crossover and haven't checked my K/D once. this game is awesome and I actually care about winning the match and not worried about a killstreak like cod.
There's a reason players take into consideration about their stats; they play to win and gaming is a great platform for showing improvement. The fun is still there for them, it's at this level of depth that most players like you wont experience, not implying that they think lesser of you.
I'm not much of a scout myself, but I can't count how many useless scouts I've seen way at the back of the map, not playing the objective and not spotting anybody. It pisses me off almost as much as medics who don't revive you. I came to BF1 from cod and I figured out this shit real quick.
Drew Rhodes He has a medic and supply guy behind him at all times. If you or me was a big youtuber i would be able to manipulate people to use a class they probably wouldn't use either.. Makes his play style a bit easier!
Im Parzelli he would still do the same thing and still be decent when he plays the objective as scout, because X factor has crazy skills. But yeah you have a good point lol
"Aim small, miss small" one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite movies. Funny b\c it randomly came to mind the other day when I was sniping on bf1 using the martini-henry, I think the gun is what brought the patriot to mind. Very helpful and well made video. Thanks.
I've literally been searching UA-cam for sniping improvement videos all day. God bless you for coming in clutch X. It doesn't get better than xfactor tips. Thanks breh.
I love watching Scout game play like this. I am not a good sniper so very seldom use this kit and generally hate having a lot of Scouts on my team because most of them are useless. Most just sit way back padding their KD 100 meters away from any objective. Watching someone play the Scout class and actually helping their team win is satisfying.
this was seriously the best tactics relay i've seen online....this is also applicable other classes....i usually have a problem getting into good lobbies where players "really play the game"
One important reason for ppl not playing aggressive scout or not getting on the objective as a scout is their average aiming skills. The closer the distance to your enemy as a scout the more important it is to be able to drag- and quickscope like you do. Average players just die more quickly than they will be able to help their team in that role. Great vid anyway, this community needs a ton of those for sure.
I just started playing as the scout to max it to level 10 and I like it a lot, I even gotten couple of messages from randoms I was in a squad with saying you are really good simply because I was using my flares and was not camping right at the back of the map, I am so new to this game and yet I play the obj no matter what class I am using but so many players out there dont even know or simply wont throw down ammo or med packs.
Same i was playing today entire squad were snipers n assault and the medics a handful at much, didnt revive once I switched to medic to show them how to do it properly and helping my teams reinforcememts at same time, also nearly all the games I play most of the team don't push the objective or even pto, it's annoying because it makes it easier for the attacking or defending team to hold or rush the objective making us lose the game and our win rate etc.. DICE has to do something to guide people when the game notices they aint ptfo'ing, or JackFrags idea. Some good advice I will be taking to my game keep up the great work you are doing
It also helps to have a squad that supports you at the same time, i'm constantly in squads or in teams that don't want to push up past 50m behind the objectives. SPM also assumes that the objective is marked, and if you're squad leader with a squad that pushes up and takes objectives as well. I also use a sniper that has a scope glint because i'm used to the sensitivity for it, all you have to do is not stand there ADS and the scope glint doesn't affect you that much regardless with how much the zoom helps out for those longer engagements. Thanks for your feedback on playing scout class aggressively.
helped a lot man i was so agressive with assault with a 723 score per min and i went to scout and started to struggle a little but know it is very clear on how i must adjust... love the vids and streams
Thanks a lot for the help, never knew about the whole having your flaregun out when picking up ammo thing. Also the strafing is really great tactic that I need to learn.
I personally like playing as the assault and support classes, I do sometimes play Scout to practice, but I RARELY use a sniper, I am usually always going with iron sights and if i'm sniping I'm using a Sniper varient, not a Marksman, Might sound stupid but I'm a very cautious but aggressive scout and I usually aim for medium engagements upper chest shots, reason? I'm not so quick on switching to my sidearm so I'm practicing. My favourite Riles are the Gewehr 98 and Gewehr M.95, I like the Gewehr M.95 'cause I prfer close to medium engagements and 5 rounds is all I need to drop 1 or 2 players and then I get the hell outta there. I love its rate of fire, I go for the Gewehr 98 for more solid and precise shots from a further distance. I am in love with two pistols overall, the P08 Pistol and M1911, love both pistols, both reliable, I'm not accurate enough to use the no.3 or the mars. Overall I'm not a strong sniper, 4 months ago i managed to take on 2-3 snipers with the russian 1885 and got 2 headshots and a sweet spot kill near a log half-way across the map, I mean like the maximum zoom, so I prefer closer targets (FYI I'm a console PS4 player so you can understand my situation) anyway, I love the tips and I'll certainly use them, hell you might be the first youtuber who has good tips that'll give me a good start, Have fun with those colats bro.
Large sac of ammo give flare ammo back faster if you wiggle walk around on top of it. Gives the game the impression there is more than one bag and you are waiting. Try it out it works.
How to be a better sniper? I just close my eyes and repeat this mantra a couple times before the game begins. "You are the elite sniper. The sniper in the bushes. The sniper to end all snipers. Nothing is more cozy to you than being in a sniper nest with ripe targets ready to be picked off. You're the elite sniper ninja. Deadshot ain't got shit on you. Work it bitch!"
+XfactorGaming i think the new guns mechanics like sweet spot , no tap firing , the stupid suppression , effectiveness gap between classes weapons , are killing the game experience we used to in previous BFs and downgrading the required skill , and actually add nothing except more chaos , what do you think ?
Being a scout is pretty easy when you have a squad dedicated to never being more than 20 feet away from you to heal, revive, and resupply you the entire game
X, did you know that if you switch to K bullet and back to your primary, you'll unload a shot without firing it? It really helps if you've fired off 4 shots and you want to reload quickly using the clip, instead of loading those 4 shots individually.
Guys if you want to level up your scout don't play conquest. Play rush or operations because not only are the games longer but attackers are going to be out in the open and open for a headshot.
love ur vids, especially the ones with ur squad and I can watch their vids too...should tell about the mini map size...I had mine close at first and couldn't see where I just flared...made it alot harder js thanks again for the help!!
I'm guilty of being a support who doesn't use ammo boxes. I feel I'm much more effective on a point if i have heavier explosives for larger amounts of enemies. My support class is really a support/assault. still help y'all out with accurate mortars
After they nerfed the martini I switched to the SMLE for about 100 hours but now I find my shots more accurate with the gewehr 98 thanks to its higher bullet velocity.
Its super ultra rare to see a agressive recon on bf1 i see so many light out of the objectif and stay alone with the optic x10 then out off amo suicide maybe haha
Paro Tahiti Right? This guy has a medic and supply guy behind him at all times. If we were big youtubers we'd be able to use a sniper like this aswell..
i thought this was gonna be sum bullshit but i was wrong... very good video and tips... i think alot of this would come down to playstyle but u gave good direction as to where to go with that... ive tried sniping and i do the classic... hide on a mountain with the sniper shield thing.... it rarely has ended well... i will try again
how to be a sniper pick one spot per kill have tons of patience pick shots carefully (ask teammates to flank them so you have the target opened) ignore the team mates who yell at you
Hey X, just wondering if you'll be doing tanker tuesdays again? I play tank myself a lot ever since BF 2 and i'm really curious what you think about tanking in BF 1.
We don't need better snipers, we need better medics
all ready did that one :/
XfactorGaming well no one got the message. great video man
Me-diks ?
That's rigth we need better medics some are just at 2 m and dont revive
before we have better medics, we need better medic weapons.
#makemedicgreatagain #bringbackm16a3
xFactor joins a game everyones reving him and droping him health and ammo.. I join a game, medics trample on my corpse not giving a fuck and looking at me confused when im on 10 hp begging for some meds..
You need to beat them with your melee. Works for me almost everytime.
lmoa same for me bro. I'm also trying to be a famous UA-camr so people will heal me too lol
Indzo play with me, I'm a good medic.
jk please don't.
Who here is a battlefield vet and dosnt give two shits about their stats and plays the game to have fun?
Hector the lll bf vet. stats matter. good stats lead to high win%, the only thing that matters
I am a cod crossover and haven't checked my K/D once. this game is awesome and I actually care about winning the match and not worried about a killstreak like cod.
Hector the lll, i actually get very depressed when hearing people talk about how to get better k/d
jaybee0507 ikr its just a video game people take it too seriously
There's a reason players take into consideration about their stats; they play to win and gaming is a great platform for showing improvement.
The fun is still there for them, it's at this level of depth that most players like you wont experience, not implying that they think lesser of you.

David Johnsen bf is still better than cod tho right?
How to be a better sniper in BF1.
Step One: Get Martini-Henry.
Step Two: Be accurate.
should have said that before the nerf :(
What nerf
sweet spot removed, need to aim at the head to OHK, basically its probably the worst sniper right now
I played with it last night and it was the same as it as been.
Jason Lange really? check the damage curve in the gun customization, it tops at around 90, I was getting only kill assists with it
lol the chat from 2:08 xD
"wtf the youtuber xfactor? lol"
"no the pornstar"
"why can't it be both?"
etc
Xfactor uploaded. A-level maths can wait
3:30 "and there is no wrong answer" *cough* kolibri *cough*
Nah, that is usually the right answer!
how do you switch and fire so fast? when i press 2 and fire right away it takes longer than this.
Thoraxe555 kolibri is the best answer
8:13 Jesus christ x, you're a fucking BOSS
Almost half of the snipers in bf1 don't do what X factor does lol "oh I'm going to snipe from spawn" never works dude lol
but muh KD
Well, if I encounter these kinds of teammates on Operations as attack, I usually walk in front of them and throw some smoke.
+stillbruch2009 playing operations and ur teammates are camping around the edge of the map trying to snipe! SO FREAKIN ANNOYING
That was a good medic.
The actual question is: how do you aim that fast??? seriously...
"Aim small, miss small" one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite movies. Funny b\c it randomly came to mind the other day when I was sniping on bf1 using the martini-henry, I think the gun is what brought the patriot to mind. Very helpful and well made video. Thanks.

These are my favorite type of videos that you make. Nostalgia from the Battlefield 3 days. I love hearing your thought process and strategies.
this was seriously the best tactics relay i've seen online....this is also applicable other classes....i usually have a problem getting into good lobbies where players "really play the game"

The Professor of PTFO.. that's brilliant!
what's PTFO stand for dude?
Play the f***ing objective
@ 6:50 - THAT 2 PIECE TH0!!
As always, thanks for more great tips and content, Xfactor!
He runs with his subs a lot and they keep him upright and supplied well. Good organizer there with a solid strat.
"There better be some friggen fertucini on this map"
Good tips, I did not realize that the gun you had out got reloaded first. Finally I can get flares more easily!
borbo23 they suck ass
Tank hunter is cool. I hope I get to see more Tank Hunter Gameplay.
I'll never be a good sniper on ps4.. I'm doing very good with iron sights but with the scope.. geez no chance :-(
@Commander Cody
Boi
RIP Explodingwombat, that was a nasty shot.
It also helps to have a squad that supports you at the same time, i'm constantly in squads or in teams that don't want to push up past 50m behind the objectives. SPM also assumes that the objective is marked, and if you're squad leader with a squad that pushes up and takes objectives as well.

Thanks for your feedback on playing scout class aggressively.
Thanks man... I was averaging 5000-6000 Scout score. Now I get 10000 or more. I subbed.
okay.. i missed so many shots in my game earlier and youtube is recommending me this.
Thanks youtube.
Nice video, xfactor. I miss all your tips and tricks from the good ole days. That chat feed was funny as well. :)
helped a lot man i was so agressive with assault with a 723 score per min and i went to scout and started to struggle a little but know it is very clear on how i must adjust... love the vids and streams
Another fantastic vid, Brandon. Well done!
best sniper guide so far, great job!
That Luger looks so cool, the best handgun in the game
Thanks a lot for the help, never knew about the whole having your flaregun out when picking up ammo thing. Also the strafing is really great tactic that I need to learn.
Aim small, miss small.
Words of wisdom from Benjamin Martin.
I've been wanting this video for so long
Nice vid X factor, I prefer this format. Keep them coming.
Luv the vid, you should know I'm 60 yrs old but still playing!!
much appreciated, will give this a go. Especially the K-bullets.
Damn! I just discovered this channel, awesome stuff!
One nice tidbit: K-bullets do bonus damage against Sentries.
I love the tank hunter kit!
Large sac of ammo give flare ammo back faster if you wiggle walk around on top of it. Gives the game the impression there is more than one bag and you are waiting. Try it out it works.
U are unreal dude. Love the streams every night. I'm overdue on a donation bruh!
Really good tips! Definitely gonna use them!
Really well put together video. Kudos good sir
How to be a better sniper? I just close my eyes and repeat this mantra a couple times before the game begins.

That salt in chat during that video!
Xfactor what distance do you usually zero in for
default for all guns.
Mister Maroon same I never change it.
man i wish there were more players online with your mindset....not a lot of team players online mostly..
Damn this dude is great at sniping. You'd have to be a really good scout to hold your own against automaticos, shotguns, and Bar 1918s
And medic weapons those are bullshit as well
+XfactorGaming i think the new guns mechanics like sweet spot , no tap firing , the stupid suppression , effectiveness gap between classes weapons , are killing the game experience we used to in previous BFs and downgrading the required skill , and actually add nothing except more chaos , what do you think ?
That shot @8:16 :o
ah some great tips! just unlocked the martini, think ill try some of these thanx X!
How to be a better sniper:
1.Use Zoom 6.002.Stay with squad.3.Spot Enemies, tanks, Calvary etc.4.Help with the objective.5.Don't be a k/d warrior.
A good internet connection and a Monitor vs a TV helps a lot!
6:53 anyone see that random steel helmet fly off of a guy with a cloth cap from a headshot? lol
Being a scout is pretty easy when you have a squad dedicated to never being more than 20 feet away from you to heal, revive, and resupply you the entire game
Awesome, awesome guide, thanks!
I love to just stay in the spawn and snipe, like a real war sniper!!
lukazo93 if this was a real war that would work but this being a game PTFO
lukazo93 That's fine for putting the longest headshot world record....
X, did you know that if you switch to K bullet and back to your primary, you'll unload a shot without firing it? It really helps if you've fired off 4 shots and you want to reload quickly using the clip, instead of loading those 4 shots individually.
just found your vids man, very cool and informative!!👍
Guys if you want to level up your scout don't play conquest. Play rush or operations because not only are the games longer but attackers are going to be out in the open and open for a headshot.
"My name is Xfactor, and this is my pawn shop"
I love how people are trash talking XFactor in the ingame chat, wait till they see the video xD
Nice video X, keep then coming :D
The chat is just lit up with your name!
love ur vids, especially the ones with ur squad and I can watch their vids too...should tell about the mini map size...I had mine close at first and couldn't see where I just flared...made it alot harder js thanks again for the help!!
when I saw the title how to become a better sniper with a picture of the Martini Henry, I broke out in laughter...
A Q U A B U R I A L Martini is the BEST in the game for TDM and closer-medium quarter maps.
yea that's kinda undisputed...
Congratulations on all you top stats Xfactor !!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😉😉😉😉
I'm guilty of being a support who doesn't use ammo boxes. I feel I'm much more effective on a point if i have heavier explosives for larger amounts of enemies. My support class is really a support/assault. still help y'all out with accurate mortars
These videos are good man you should do a tanker tuesday
After they nerfed the martini I switched to the SMLE for about 100 hours but now I find my shots more accurate with the gewehr 98 thanks to its higher bullet velocity.
wow had no idea about the scope glare thanks
Xfactor battlefield guru!
Paro Tahiti I am a agressive recon.
I only play with iron sights.
SnapQueen yeah but with a scoped rifle damnnn
never skip an ad
Lol the chat at around 5:20
Hello this is Xfactor and this is my pawnshop.
Good vid, thanks for the tips.
I'm level 97 but only 16 on sniping ,i prefer to be up in the action .thanks for the tips
Wtf those shots, thought I was getting good at sniping but nvm after watching this god tier shit
i thought this was gonna be sum bullshit but i was wrong... very good video and tips... i think alot of this would come down to playstyle but u gave good direction as to where to go with that... ive tried sniping and i do the classic... hide on a mountain with the sniper shield thing.... it rarely has ended well... i will try again
how to be a sniper
pick one spot per kill
have tons of patience
pick shots carefully (ask teammates to flank them so you have the target opened)
ignore the team mates who yell at you
This man's quickscoping and I miss easy shots
Nice vid X
Hello UA-cam, i'm Grinchieur from the squad.
My friend was saying to me that Xfactor gaming was a youtuber, and now he send me this video wow
great advice for me thx
The most important thing for me I got out of this video:
Dance Quick Aim Quick Shoot Dance.
very honest, good vid!
Hey X, just wondering if you'll be doing tanker tuesdays again? I play tank myself a lot ever since BF 2 and i'm really curious what you think about tanking in BF 1.
You sound like Patton Oswald.
Subbed.
It's called "Shoot twice. Move."
Very helpful thanks
The best way to snipe is to grab a vehicle, drive it to the edge of the map, go prone and then miss 5000m headshots for the rest of the game.
Wow i just realize that the flare made them light up in the mini map, and not just the regular game screen....shit, the little things man..
