love the car, what does is weigh and how much power is it making if you dont mind me asking? i have drove fast modern cars but this car sings the song of my people, and the thought of blasting that beast down some tight back roads in the middle of the night gives me goosebumps.
If he had wrecked and destroyed that vehicle, would it have been just fine with you? And what about any other vehicles he might have wrecked in the process? Is potentially destroying historic vehicles simply considered part of this type of racing?

I drove a 1972 Galaxy 500 two door with a 351 Cleveland engine. It was a real flyer. Drove in a snow storm once and I didn’t need the wipers. The aerodynamics blew the snow over the hood across the windscreen and roof without landing. No. I wasn’t driving fast. It was a snow storm on a winding mountain road. 15- 25 max speed. PS Thanks for the back seat ride along. Flippin’ awesome! PPS The St. Mary’s Trophy banner: Once was quite enough. Maybe twice in case we forgot. 😁
My gosh those FE motors have one of the sweetest exhaust notes, and the power band is always on point too !! I've owned many of them, and driven pretty much all of them ! Stock through built to the hilt they all performed ! Even though I'm a Chevy guy those FE's always make me smile !
Brilliant racing, if there's not enough track, I'll just have to use the grass too 🤣, couldn't get to Goodwood this year, but off to Legends at Silverstone in October, can't wait
Mad respect to these drivers doing the slippidy slide and still keeping 3000 Lbs under control while making it all look easy. You guys are true beasts!
Brilliant drive. Holy crap if that wasn't on the limit of grip the whole time. The man has some amazingly fast responses. He and Kristensen are just so much fun to watch.
My parents had a 63 Ford just like that! Except it didn't have a 427, it had a 6 cyl. Neither did it have a 4 speed, but it did have 3 on the tree. It didn't handle very well, either. And it sure didn't sound as sweet as this car! Highly impressed by the driving in the rain. I noticed the Minis gave chase around the corners, but the 427 just motored away on the straights. American Muscle!
@@jimherman3059 I agree, but the styling also helped sell that 63 to my dad. He bought it used, and he hated it the whole time he owned it. Replaced the 63 with a 65 LTD w/390. THAT was a car he loved.
Msr. Dumas is a master! The way he took the lighter, more nimble cars in the lower classes! Wow! And then muscling his way past the other big Fords! Brutal! Masterfully done! BRAVO!!
I'm guessing it has similar steering to my 1968 Mustang. I was able to get a slightly quicker ratio steering box from Cobra Automotive in Connecticut. And I mean box, not rack and pinion--it was recirculating ball, like Fred Flintstone probably had. It still had a ton of play in it.
Romain Dumas on fire!! Met him a couple times in Long Beach and Laguna Seca driving the Porsche RS Spyder - but amazing he can whip a big V8 Ford sideways like that. He’s a great guy, real sense of humor and irony! 🏁
Went to Goodwood a number of years ago. Boy did I have a great time. I recall on the front stretch as all the smaller European race cars came blasting by they sounded like motorcycles or mad hornets... But when those Galaxies came tearing down that stretch, it was like V8 thunder. Screaming at 7000 rpm, there is no other sound like it. Everyone was cheering for them.

I just love AMERICAN pushrod V8s. They just sound so mean and they can be easily souped up and creates enough horses and torque to pull down an old building. Couple it with gifted driver and this boat aint sinking on an iceberg anytime soon.
Man, if he doesn't bang some gears! Love his undsersteer and oversteer. I keep waiting for pistons to come flyin' oot the bonnet. He properly cranks it up!
Awesome driving! Lightning fast shifts, considering the long throw. That thing looks hard and easy to drive at the same time - on the straights you annihilate everybody, but you gotta keep in in check in the corners. Looks hella fun :)
Who is the driver? I thought I was playing Gran Turismo 4 with all the steering corrections sans "trading paint"...the guy is the REAL DEAL!! Well Done!
