- As you shop for BMX bikes, you'lll see single wall rims out there a lot. I don't really support the idea of the single wall rims because they will not last as you progress.

I had rhyno lites back in 98 on my Diamond Back cruiser, then I got skyway 24s. I Have some Envy 24s now. Good rims are good advice. I love the info!

Would you recommend a beginner getting a decent spec bike like the Mongoose L100 to start off with or get a beginner spec? Would the decent spec one motivate the beginner to keep at it? even tho its expensive. Or would a beginner spec one reduce the motivation? but its affordable.
If you’re really looking for a decent spec bike, stay away from mongoose. The l100 isn’t bad but a lot of the parts are weak and sometimes breaking parts is enough to discourage someone from riding it and sticking with the sport
I need help I was learning how to 180 flat after I already learned a 180 off a curb on the road and I bent my rim where do I start to find a new one? I want a cheap one but also strong and I want everything on it(hub, spokes, all that good stuff) I’m not a custom builder I barley can even put a wheel on my bmx but I do know how to chnage a tube had to do that a lot
If it's not too bad you can take it to a shop and they'll fix it no problem. I ride single wall and it's happened twice. Owned the bike for 6months. The repair was pretty cheap and had my bike by the end of the day but check danscomp if you want to buy..personally I don't think double wall is necessary unless youre getting 5+ft of air w/out a transition. I'm close to 200lbs 5'9 gym head. As long as the landing is somewhat balanced, I've faced 0 issues and right now I bunny hop about 2-3ft, cleared some decent gaps. Im giving it 6 months before an upgrade. Single wall forces you to be technical.
Literally I couldn’t finish the 180 cause once my rim go to a certain point when I was rollin backwards it got stuck and threw me off
@@leopold43 idk I was only doing 90 degree angles and it never broke then the first or second one I actually landed it broke then, so I don’t think the balance thing has much to do with it, it’s just the rim itself it couldn’t withstand any more damage and I rather not pay for someone to fix it cause the damage is done and I took welding and one thing I learned with any type of metal is once you change the chemical balance in it it will never be as strong as it was no matter if it was bent by weight or bent by heat or anything
can u talk about the bike prices right now and where we should buy bikes rn I'm looking for a bike for 500-650

What's annoying is that cult puts the match rims on the devotion but not the match hubs, so the match front hub guards I ordered don't work and no one in America has cult crew front hub guards

I'm trying to buy a budget bike. But the hard part I'm having is knowing these new brands and finding double walled rims. I can replace unsealed with sealed bearings no problem. But I don't want to have to buy another set of rims. I havent rode in almost 20 years. Only brands I know are Kink, Sunday, Wethepeople....thats about it. Any recommendations on a full bike with double walls? I owned a set of triple wall rims once. Don't think they're made anymore, but I remember them being soooooo heavy.
Does unsealed matter like the bottom bracket I don’t have a sealed one but I also only know how to bunny hop manual and 180 so I don’t know crazy tricks but I did bend my rim today so I have no clue on how to find a finished run with spokes and a hub and stuff can u give me a few pointers I’m not a custom build person at all I only know basics like replacing a tube cause I had to before and a few other things
@@Crash.7434 Sealed bearings help prevent dirt and grime from getting into your bearings and are generally stronger than unsealed. So if you're in the market for a complete bike, definitely shoot for 100% chromoly, sealed bearings and double wall rims. If just replacing parts, go the same route.
@@dimmn82 I just need a new rim with a sprocket on it already and all the other stuff. I just want to have to put a tub and a tire on it which I got still I just bent my last rim doing tricks and now time for a upgrade on that rim

Welded double wall rims with cross laced spokes are the only real option here
I only buy triple walled rims.
Double wall is necessary. I'd destroy single walls in one week. And I'm old. A good rider would instantly put big wobbles in single wall rims.
Why do 450 dollar bmx bikes come with single wall rims. Ann frank in the bmx industry now?
