He found out she was planning on divorcing him, so he killed the three boys they had together. It's all about control, and if he couldn't still have control over her, he would eliminate those that she loved unconditionally. That's why he was so calm after just killing them; he probably enjoyed hearing her scream for her boys.

The officer putting him in the car showed a lot of restraint not to hurt that mad, all of the officers involved did. The murderer tried to make small talk, and the officer told him to "Shut up. You have the right to remain silent, use it." That must have been a hard job for everyone involved.

"One of the boys ran with the sister, however Doerman chased and later fired shots, which hit the son at a distance. Doerman then came closer to fire again at point-blank range. After witnessing this, the sister ran back into the house and picked up another one of the sons and fled with him in her arms. Doerman caught up to the two, raised the rifle, and demanded she put her brother down. He attempted to fire the rifle, but the shot did not go off due to low ammunition. The surviving boy ran to his mother, who left the house and went into the yard to render aid to her other son shot outside. The sister, on the other hand, ran towards the Monroe Township Fire Department nearby. She told a passerby that “her father was killing everyone,” according to the court documents." He had to reload at least once during this horror.
Many years ago when I was in the Army stationed in Japan. One of the soldiers in my unit was caught killing another. After he was taken to the Military Police station, they sent me over to sit outside his cell as a sort of suicide watch, also to make sure the MP's didn't "rough him up" (standard procedures to have a "guard"). What amazed me was how calm the killer was, he was more interested in the book I had with me, than in his situation. He even asked me if he could read it when I was done. I just handed it over to him and told him to keep it, then sat down making sure my back was not toward him. I never did learn what happened to him.

It's done on purpose. First responders have already been dispatched. They are keeping the person on the phone and talking until police get there. They are trained to do that for good reason.

One call, a little girl called to report her dad was beating her mom and the dispatcher kept asking to talk to her parents. I was an officer and I can tell you it is difficult, especially when you first start, to willingly care for and about the scum of the earth. You go from wanting to treat the good, good and the bad, bad to being forced to care for the bad. Even to the point of facing charges should anything happen to them while in your care. Next thing you know you are treating most everyone the same. You become frustrated, annoyed, short tempered and feeling like no matter what you do you cant make a true difference. Sometimes you can and thats when it is worth it. The typical person can’t understand nor tries to. There are bad cops thats not even an argument. But the burnout rate is usually 3 years.

And I am very happy you guys are reacting to True Crime. But I have to say I cannot watch this video as it really upsets me. I just came here to like and comment to support you guys. After 25+ years of watching True Crime, I have NEVER seen a case so brutal and so devastating. It is the one case I cannot watch or follow, because it is so brutal and sad and he has no remorse at all. He planned it and those boys ran for their lives and he ran them down and got them and made sure to get them all twice to ensure they died and to hurt their Mother. Honestly just the thought of what he did makes me want to curl into a ball and cry my eyes out. This is the worst case i have ever seen. And it breaks me to think of what he did. We have 50,000 Americans every year die from firearms whether they be self inflicted suicides or crazy murders like this. Its intentionally to make them stay calm and get as much info from the as possible. Police was already on the way after she told the important part.

Well he would have killed more people had she not hung up on the 911 dispatch, she was about to ask the woman if she new their birth dates, if the car that was seen had Yokohama tyres on it and were they still in good nick, what was on the TV inside the house, did know know old Jim Berkeley who live 4 houses up from the man who was executing his three children on the front lawn while his stepdaughter screamed for help. FFS just get the address and location and get some help out there
These 911 operators just ask ridiculous questions. Who cares what the woman's name is at that time & if they actually listened they'd know exactly what's happening coz the woman on the phone is telling them.
It's stupid things to keep them on the phone. They already had sent people out by the time they asked those questions.

This is what happens in a country that has far too many guns laying around it. We have 50,000 Americans every year die from firearms whether they be self inflicted suicides or crazy murders like this. When any human being can pick up a tool and just pull the trigger and end someone’s life that is beyond something that’s necessary.
If not a gun they will use something else. Plenty of ways to kill.

By the way, 30K of the 50K gun deaths are suicide. Of the remaining 20K, 16K are gang related. That leaves 4,000 homicides a year in a country of 330 million. That's 0.00121212121% of the population. And I didn't even remove the 1% accidental deaths because it's so small.
When I was in high school we had rifle teams. We had our rifles in the back windows of our truck in case we decided to go rabbit or gopher hunting after school. We had zero school shootings. It's not guns, it's culture.

Right now societies reached a point where we have more mass shootings then we have days in the year so there’s definitely something wrong and when we have 50,000 Americans dying from gun shots every year that’s a lot of people dead from a dangerous tool. We need to modify or gun laws and start minimizing the number of firearms out there and this kind of crap won’t happen as often as it does.
