I struggled with this specific build guide a lot but I figured out a few things that made it much better for me that I'd like to share with anyone else having a bad time with it. 1) Add a good highlight for items with Vitality to your filter. *Every point of Vitality adds 2 FLAT damage to your Abyssal Echoes.* So usually, damage scaling from attributes in this game is just 4-8% increase per point, but its 2 flat damage for Void Knight spells as a special thematical thing or something (2 flat is WAY better than 4-8% increase). The difference this makes is huge, I don't know why the guide doesn't mention Vitality scaling your damage; I put a +11 Vitality chest on which made my flat damage increase go from 30 to 52 and it actually felt like my damage almost doubled for it. It feels like all the Void Knight spells base damage values are tuned low to compensate for this "feature", so if you're not aware of it, you're in for a bad time. Vitality on gear is key! As a consequence of this, I also recommend swapping the passive points at the very start of the main class tree from 8/8 Juggernaut into 8/8 Fearless. We're just swapping some resists into Vitality. 2) Get Healing Hands earlier. The guide wants you to get it for the level 50 specialization slot (the last one), I think playing a melee build until level 50 without sustain is crazy or at least uncomfortable. The steps to do this are: put 5 points into the Paladin tree (Defiance node) earlier - the guide wants you to get them anyway so its not a big deal if you just shuffle it in a bit earlier (I did it for the level 35 spec slot, but can probably be done for the level 20 one too). Inside the Healing Hands tree, go for Cleric's Hammer first, the guide wants you to get it anyway we're just changing the order. That's it, done. After these changes I'm actually smooth sailing with this build at level 50 in "solo character found" mode. Everything else I kept exactly as on maxroll.
When I mentioned I wasn’t a fan of the build, it was more of a personal preference. Too much “void” and not enough “knight”. The dots and vengeance were fine, it just wasn’t for me. I definitely preferred the instant delete approach that void cleave and erasing strike brought to the table, with a little warpath thrown in to pick up anything left.

Hi, I have used a RocCat lap board for years that allows me to settle back in my chair and still use a mouse and keyboard. It's the only way to game IMO ;-) Been enjoying this serries of videos
You can make the "time bubble" stay around you instead of on the ground. Makes it so much better! FYI autobomber VK using that and smite is good and fun too.
It's fun seeing someone else's take on the Maxroll guides. I've subbed and watched several of your videos now. I've been a fan of ARPG's since the first Diablo. I found Raxx and Maxroll during D3. I am having a lot of fun with LE. I appreciate the work the Maxroll team puts into building guides. My biggest issue with Sentinel and Primalist leveling guides on Maxroll is pacing. Compared to Acolyte or Rogue ( I have yet to get into the mage class), they just feel slow. I want a fast paced melee smash build, I don't want a melee class to rely on DOTs or Throwning abilities. I wish every Sentinel mastery didn't require Volatile Reversal. Fingers crossed for more melee tuning as cycles go on.
If you are playing mage yet, good luck with Sorcerer and Spellblade. Both of these masteries are significantly worse than Rune Master. (I have 2 spellblades, one doing an Ignite Firebrand build and another trying to do Shatter Strike but I didn't build it correctly xD) On both Sorcerer and Spellblade, the best focus is Static Mana Strike with Frost Claw with a focus on critical hits. For Sorcerer, you have two ways to build defensively, and that is Mana b4 Health or No Life Ward. On Spellblade, you only have No Life Ward which I'm not using, currently, but I can't push pass Corruption, 200 currently. For Spellblade, if you plan to do Ignite or Shatter Strike, I would recommend Frostbite Shatter Strike. Ignite from Firebrand doesn't stack fast enough, and Ignite from Reave is too taxing mana wise to play. Good video on Void Knight, but my caveat is that Void Knight doesn't feel fun to play unless you are focusing on Erasing Strike or just playing Void Knight more like a Void Mage with a focus on Vitality since all of Void Knight's *spells* scale with Vitality. I have a Spell focused Void Knight currently that is in its 60s level-wise, and all that is left in its build is really figuring out how I want to build its defenses. The advantage of Sentinal classes is they scale really well with Armor and have a ton of Affix passives that convert other damage types to Physical damage which scales 1-to-1 with your Armor's defenses. Sentinal cannot scale with dodge sadly unless you over-invest into **dodge rating** and dodge % (You need dodge rating to even make it worth taking Dodge %). I'm thinking about doing no life Ward on my Void Knight Spellcaster, but not certain yet.

It’s a game. I wanted fun. I’ve leveled through campaign a great many times and this build was no more efficient than any others I’ve played. It’s not a personal attack if you enjoyed using the build guide, but I didn’t and that’s a perfectly fair opinion to hold.
Sorry if I made that seem necessary. I was just summoning bees because I liked it. A regular pair of crafted gloves would likely have been stronger overall.

Since you're checking these, try out the runemaster levelling guide on maxroll. I found that one felt particularly bad using frostclaw so early

Yeah I felt like this build was pretty decent but it didn’t hit the spot for me. I could see how the interactions would be fun for some people though

I’ll look into that! At some point I made a lap tray for myself and played on a recliner but I haven’t tried to do that for content creation

I agree about the melee, and being rooted when you swing is really rough when you’re in melee range trying to dodge mechanics. Thanks for watching!

Yea their leveling guides are….iffy. I feel like they lean toward survivability and so it can take a long time hacking and hacking and hacking
