Growing up on as a white kid on the Indian reservation during the Obama administration guilty of being white resonated with me, because still to this day I refuse to accept the blame for racists crimes don't long before I was in this world. Keep up the great reactions boys

Awesome take comparing the song to that dude at the party. I’m a big fan of Minor Threat and always that Guilty of Being White was a weird song.

There was always one of those dudes at parties. And yeah, this was a weird song. Honestly, it just seemed like a young, disenfranchised dude who just didn't have a lot of real world experience.

No one ever knocked a beer out of anyone's hand. That is a myth that's been dispelled.

Good lord. I didn't know that. But, I mean, one of the sad things I've learned from some of the more recent shootings is that white nationalism has even been able to radicalize POC against other POCs. Hate just begets more hate.

Ian from minor threat has stated he does not like guilty of being white.
Some fascist politician from the eastern block loved the song back in the day and that really pissed off the guys from minor threat.
Brian Baker would tell people he invented straight edge while he did lines and poured shots before he became sober 😂

"Ian from minor threat has stated he does not like guilty of being white"
Kinda reminds me of GnR's "One In A Million." Obviously Slash hates that racist-ass song and they never play it.
"Brian Baker would tell people he invented straight edge while he did lines and poured shots before he became sober"
That's hysterical. Ain't that always the way with those kinda dudes?

??? He never said that in any way. He has said that it was taken out of context by some fascist right wing groups but that he knows what he intended when he wrote it as a non racist song. Not trying to argue but youre putting words in the mans mouth or just completely misinterpreting something he has said.

Theres a video of Ian mckaye explaining that when he wrote the song he grew up in a majority black neighborhood and went to school where most kids were black and his ideia was dont judge me for the color of my skin , but anyway lets keep it controversial and plz react to SOD speak english or die 😂

Ian Mackaye is pretty upset about Slayers misinterpretation. He felt the message was anti racist, and the Slayer did that thing at the end and it pissed him off. He’s walked it back big time because he didn’t realize how crappy the view was. He was a teenager who didn’t realize the problem until a few years later.

    Hey guy! Here it is!
    Minor Threat..🤘🏻
    He doesnt wanna hear nothin!
Could be a girlfriend, parents or the establishment. Or all 3🤣..
Yep theres no place for racism in music, its supposed to be unifying, a common language.
Reminds of the whole Phil Anselmo rant, which did not do him any favours.
But thanks for a great video guys as always!!
Todd's insight is awesome you guys continue to rock 🤘🏻💙🙏🏻

      100% agree!
And I feel the same way about Anselmo as I do Mustaine. Just shut up and play the music. Their horrible outlooks on life ruin my enjoyment of their musical abilities.

So , the story about them knocking beers out of people's hands at shos... completely untrue. That was a rumor about a different band, and it wasn't even that band, rather it was some of that other band's fans.

I have a bit of an issue with you both making it seem like "guilty for being white" might be a pro White song. It feels to me like y'all did not get the message of the song and in turn make yourself like the people that Ian was singing about. This song is about him distancing himself from what white people had done in the past especially here in America. And that he was guilty of all the past clients simply for the color of his skin. And in regards to the Slayer cover I have to go back and look at the time line. But I believe that him changing the word "white" to "right" is his response to him being right wing. Now forgive me if I'm mistaken because I do not know for certain the politics of the members of Slayer and particularly Tom. But it has been said that he is very right-wing and even voted for Trump.
