Have you used suction cups to hold your stained glass artwork in your window? Did your suction cup ever lose suction and damage your stained glass artwork? Leave comments below.

I’ve only done it the way you showed, tea hook. Are there any dos and don’ts on attaching jump rings to the pieces itself? Like best place to place them to relieve tension on the tape? I hope that makes sense.

@@StinkyDustyBird the best place to try and attach jump rings is at solder line joints. But sometimes pieces don't always let you do that because of how it was designed. I try to think about where I will attach my jump rings when designing a pattern. If the piece is small and not that heavy I would attach the ring at the corner where the ring can at least make contact on two sides of the piece of glass if that makes sense.

Thanks! Glad i watched this before buying suction cups. Will be using the first method now 👍🏼

Thanks for watching. A lot of people use suction cups but it all depends on the area you live in. If I use a suction cup I use clear packing tape to put around it so it is secure because I live in a high humidity area and the suction will not hold for long with heat beating down on the windows.

How do you suggest hanging with roll up blinds? From the ceiling in front of blinds? Windows are vinyl so don’t want to drill into the underside of frame.

If you have a small gap and want to hang the piece between the window and the rollup blind than you can run clear fishing line-amzn.to/3YPdiT3 down from the ceiling above the window. If not, the other option is using either adhesive hooks-amzn.to/3KZ1mZn directly to the window or suction cups hooks-amzn.to/3sza61G but with clear tape over it for reinforcement or add the adhesive discs-amzn.to/47Mb4bd to your suction cup hooks. Depending on temperature & humidity, suction cups alone will eventually give way causing potential damage to your piece. Always reinforce the suction cups. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Fishing line is probably the best option.

Thank you for your help! When displaying this on a window indoors, should the textured or smooth side be facing outward to the sun? x

It depends how you want to view it. Most textured glass is used on the "finished" side that most people view. If you want people outside to see it, then textured side out. If the piece is mainly for your enjoyment then textured side facing inside. Really the choice is up to you.

Well shoot I was hoping to get some help but just like your hanging piece my hanging stained glass piece does not lay flat when it hangs from a chain, it twists to one side or the other it's very annoying it doesn't look good and then when I open and close my curtains it sometimes catches on them because it's not laying flat and I was hoping you would show what type of hook or chain to use so that it faces forward and not to one side or the other. I'm beginning to think my problem might require rocket science. Nobody seems to have an answer.

Are you using “jack chain” ⛓️‍💥on a single o-ring? It will sometimes cause the slight twist. If you can add another o-ring and hang like a picture it most likely will take the twist out.

This didn’t help me…I have a very large framed stained glass, hanging something small is easy…but I don’t know how to secure a huge one…

What’s the size of the framed glass? Are you putting it inside the frame of an existing window? Provide a little more details and see if I can give you some tips? I have secured a few larger pieces inside a window frame and on a wall.

Should you hand it on a window you don't open and us it important to hang it on a window that gets sun!

I would use a window that is sunny and won’t be opened or closed that much. In the video it was a side of a double door that I rarely used and gets a lot of sun during the winter. Thanks for watching and the comment.
