THANK YOU! I'm struggling with edge beading on a lamp shade. Now I'm going to wash it well on both sides and hope that getting all the flux off was my issue! You've taught me so much in 2 years!!!

I’m praying that I didn’t go over my seams so much that the backing of my foil has come through because I have gone over my seams MANY times in an effort to fix my problems. You have helped tremendously.
Oh gosh I love you!!! You fixed my problems and just let me say there a tons of how to videos and not many that address fixing problems thank you so much! I’m having foil lifts my iron heat is good and I am careful with keeping hands clean. I’m kinda a perfectionist can over burnishing cause foil lift cos I’m sure I do that

Awesome video! I do have some problems with joints on the edge of the project, my solder lines bleed from the joints out onto the edges. How do I prevent that from happening?
Can't really prevent that from happening, IMO. That's just extra molten solder seeping out when you solder up to an edge. Using that solder to add a beaded edge on the outer foil (edge-finishing) definitely helps to make those dips less noticeable!
Thankyou for sharing i love a finished edge, do you have any tips on soldering wire onto the edges so they look good & dont rip the foil with solder off if they get moved like, i was making achicken with little wire legs & crest then some started to lift 😊 am i doing something wrong ?
It’s tricky to do. Anything tacked onto edge foil like that is very fragile. Wire soldered to edge foil will rip right off the edges. Try tacking the wire to break lines that meet the edge, rather than to the edge foil itself. This takes a bit of practice (and failed attempts!) to get it right. Keep at it!
Maybe- I'd try chopping off less solder. Careful that the angle of your edge is perpendicular to the table. Hope that helps! 60/40 is fine. It's pretty standard.

You'll know when you see "stuff" creeping out from along your seams. That's the adhesive telling you to stop ;)

So do you turn the heat down a bit, the weller iron I have does have a dial to adjust temp?
You can, and see if the solder behaves better,or is less drippy.
Don’t you have to re-flux the solder when you go back in to correct it? Or no?
Always! Flux is your friend! :)
I tried this but every thing I try causes the solder to drup off the edge:( is my Iron too Hot? I use 60/40 solder.
