    Always good to come across these videos. I've got a 2012 Titan SV 4x4 that has what appears to be a leaking evaporator coil so I guess I'll tackle that in a week or so before summer sets in. In my 18 years of car audio career time, I pulled many dashes out and rebuilt things....but now I'm 57 and not the spring chicken I used to be. lol. But, I'm going to tackle it and go ahead and replace all the hard to get to blend doors while there. About 2 months ago, I replaced 24 rocker arms, 24 lifters and 6 spark plugs on my daughters 2015 Jeep Cherokee Sport with the 3.2L Pentastar engine in it and that turned out good. (not like younger days of working on Mustang 302 engines, though) But, it saved me about 4k$ in labor to pay someone to do it. Thanks for the video.

    Thanks for being clear on demonstrating the process. Great help.
    I have 2008 Titan and fixing a few things; actuator, clock spring, column shifter, O2 sensors.
    Fun job.

      Wow, same story for me minus the column shifter.

    Dude, what an Awesome video! Thank you for taking the time to make this. My blendoor went out last winter and I was livid. Thanks to this video, I will be replacing my actuator and be warm this winter.

    Props Chris! Man tracking all the pieces and bolts, and the frustrations and the plastic tabs breaking prevents me from doing stuff like this. Good video for anyone who wants to attempt.

    I have that clicking noise for almost 3 years right on top on control center and I just think it’s to hard to disassemble the dashboard, but air mix actuators are working thanks for the video

      It’s really pretty easy. Take your time and keep your screws all organized. The center piece is the worst part so take your time getting it loose.

    2005 le crew cab w/no nav, I replaced it from glovebox area but it was a nightmare and miracle because it was mostly by feel

      Yeah the older models without the screen I’ve heard you can get to it without taking out the dash.

    Chris: This really is a beautifully presented video. Great work! This will go a long way to helping me through the process later today. One of my concerns is how reliable a new actuator will be. I see others who have been through all of this only to have the new actuator fail very quickly. You mention that yours came from Auto Zone. Were you able to confirm if their unit was a better build than the original or perhaps a new Nissan unit? I bought a new Nissan branded actuator that appears to have a date of 2023 molded into the unit so I'm hoping that Nissan improved that part over the years and is reflected by this date. My car is a 2004 Armada LE 4x4 with just 70K miles as I have other vehicles so share the work load. I still love it after 20 years! Other than this actuator issue the car has been the most reliable, work-horse vehicle I have ever owned and I've had many over the past 55 years of driving. One last question: Did you have any second thoughts on removing the actuator ONLY rather than removing the plate that it is mounted on and the actuator as a unit? I have read that it is easier this way and then you don't have to deal with that impossible rear screw. Thanks again for a job very well done.

      Wasn’t able to confirm that is was better, but it’s a lifetime warranty…. So at least I won’t have to pay for one. Fingers crossed 🤞

    i'm having problems with the actuator on the driver side that controls which vents the air blows through, can you redo it and then show some camera angles from the other side? 😊

    • @chrisbuildsitall
      @chrisbuildsitall  4 місяці тому +1

      lol. Did that one a long time ago. Just take the drivers seat out so you can lay down with breaking your back

    2005 Nissan Titan XE 5.6L V8 King Cab - I am not a mechanic! (I've watched multiple UA-cam videos on this) I replaced my blend door actuator today without removing the dashboard. It doesn't have the "sound package stuff" in the foot well. I unplugged 5 or 6 electrical connections, removed the black box that 3 of them connected to, then used a mallet to knock the right-side black box bracket out of the way. Installed new actuator and reversed the process, knocked the previously bent bracket back into alignment with the left one. Easy, Peasy! (Not really, but way easier than removing and reinstalling the entire dashboard🤯) #ThinkOutsideTheBox!

      @chrisbuildsitall  8 місяців тому +1

      Yeah, on the older models you can reach through the radio area also to get to the blend door. Just not possible on the newer systems

    Thank you for the video. Why does the crackling sound without changing the temperature?

    • @chrisbuildsitall
      @chrisbuildsitall  Місяць тому

      Because the gears are damaged and trying to realign when the car is started, or the blend is changed most likely

    Is there an easy way to get to the tweeter in the middle of the dash right behind the screen. Mines blown and I’m trying to replace.

    Quick question how long do you think this took you? I have never done this but am mechanically inclined to do so and it needs done!!
