- The winner of the annual One Handed Musical Instrument Competition (OHMI) has been announced.
Designed to be performed at virtuoso level, the tenor and soprano saxophones developed by Maarten Visser won this year's prize.
Neill Duncan plays the soprano sax after having his arm amputated three years ago. The instrument is about more than just playing music for him.
"It's put me back into a place where I'm doing what I should be doing on this planet," he says.

I need both my hands to play the saxophone
He looks like a combination of Tom cruise and norm Macdonald
This is great - and he still sounds fantastic!
Yea I saw I guitarist with a missing arm and got me thinking what would happen if I lost mine. I think the solution i would go for would be to make a fake hand that pushes down fingers based on my arm movements
@@efigeniocandido5833 nah I've been looking at the newest prosthetics and they move based on a chip in your brain and by the looks of it you could use a prosthetic left hand and play sax as good as a normal hand within maybe like 10 years
Amazing, so inspirational
How do I find out about saxophones for people who only use one hand? I’m looking for my father. Thank you!
A shop in my country performs such modifications, there might be a place like that where you live as well.
brilliant music really impressed x
Neat i always wanted to play the sax as a kid but with no left hand there ya go (also no musical talent or patience) but mostly the hand...yeah...haha
I think you can play the trumpet with one ✋.
Beautiful
Amazing spirit !
Weird flex and a little pretentious to play a right handed saxophone with a fully functioning left arm, but okay.
The fyck?
@@nelsonwilkins347, The guy with the other arm?
