i have always failed on 360 with snowboard and then i watched this video and i realised what i did wrong and then i tried it again today and succesfully landed my first 360. thank you so much :)
ahhh it really depends, but kinda when it comes to park jumps at least, but once you know the right speed you don't wanna necessarily push it past that
Worked beautifully. I used to go to a smaller park so this was never a problem. Now at Keystone, the massive jumps were given me trouble on where and how to set up and take off. Went out the next day and pounded out a nice 720
hands down... this is the best video ever!! your spins look sooooooooo stylish!! perfectly explained, i think i watched it about 100 times in the past 5 years, and as a result of this i cn now do 720s - thx guys for your awesome videos!
Hands down best tutorial for spins. His spins look absolutely effortless, where as mine need refining. Many people can do 3's but little to nobody does them while carrying speed, which has them landing on top of the lip, which destroys the landing and the person's legs. Make sure you can clear the kicker / table before you try anything like this (as the tutorial states). Thanks for the great video. Keep em' coming for more advanced tricks.
Your so clean in your spinning, I've been riding for 4 years and I'm no where close to your degree of chill, clean, straight spins! props man! and this is a great how to! brought me to 3's and 5's in one season!
The most helpful tip I can give to anyone with spinning is to take off without scrubbing the jump or being at any angle when you leave the lip. It makes it harder to land clean.
This is definitely the best video on youtube for teaching spins. The set up carve is extremely important! The biggest problem i see with people new to rotations is that they initiate a turn while still on the jump, so they have already spun 90 degrees before leaving the jump. this makes the rest of the rotation difficult and is cheating. Thanks for posting!
some peeps are giving bad comments on this vid...others like myself would agree that this is one of the most thorough videos i've personally ran into. well explained and to the point. for those that disagree would probably have a better learning experience with and expert village video...not!
Nicely said. I've been spinning for years and never passed a front 3 off my heel and the occasional accidental 5. I'll definitely bring this with me up this year. Subrscribed!
Wow. @snowboardaddiction this was a great tutorial. This upcoming season I'm going to start trying spins since last season I got comfortable with my straight airs and basic grabs. I don't hang out with a snowboard crew or crowd so I would have NEVER known these things. Thank you so much for this video. Now I literally can't wait for it to start snowboarding here in CO!!!!
It all makes sense now! I'm inconsistent with my 3's but after watching this I realized the only time I spin and land it is when I'm on my heelside edge. Thanks!
Hey this is my 9 day snowboarding and I can do a lot of the rails at my sking and snowboarding resort and after watching this I think this will help me thanks
the advice that when youre carving too much before enter the kicker is so true!! even if you want small/thin kickers thats my biggest fail into much carving. I conetrate to much and loose my balance and dont know in the final moment how i have to jump... next snowboard vacation i try this how its here explained
wow this is the BEST how to spin on a snowboard -vid i´ve ever seen! im sure this will help me to clear the spin trick much eazier then i tried to do them earlier. thanks man!
I want to let you guys know, after I watched this video, I went up to my local hill the next day and landed a 3. This video helped me out so much! Thanks guys!
Most helpful video on the tube! good comments, good advice, good video. The minimal speed check advice has helped a ton. comments about landing tail heavy are going to come in handy next. nice work.
i can already throw 3's and 5's, but they're sloppy, this makes helps a lot! i was setting up too early and going faster, so i would clear the nuckle fine, but land way off to one side more than i would've liked. THANKS!
just from waching this vid u guys r my best freinds haha but today i was trying fornt 360s and i finally got them down off the small and big park jumps .. i ordered ur dvd,s like a week ago and i cant wait . i just wanted to say thx for the help
i have watched this over 5 times, I can not believe how helpful and awesome this is. Plan on buying jumping volume 2 and intermediate freestyle vid. KEEP MAKING THESE!!! (and do you guys have any rodeo videos?)
@snowboardaddiction love the comment! Im still trying to work on the same thing..I learned front threes this at the end of last season and this comment made me realize a few things that i could easily improve! Great description
***** I confirm this, it only works on ramps smaller than 15ft, then again if you are hitting a 15ft kicker you should have more than enough time to get the board around 360 without doing stuff like this.
I'd love to see some tips on the grab-spin combo. I can 3 and I can grab, but I can't seem to keep a calm enough head to do both. As always, keep em coming.
thats right gravy always the edge when spinning. Ïve been competing in big air for 7 years here in sweden and norway when i was younger. I love to ride :)
Did my first 3 off a park jump! Yeah I cased but I got rotation off the jump and landed! So pumped. Now I need to learn how to boardslide and not fall on my ass. Thanks sb addiction
this video helped me so much. last season i couldn't spin to save my life. and i watched this video and my 2nd time out for the season i got my fs 3s and bs 3s down
Great video, helped me out so much, I am pumped for my vacation! Only bad thing, I'd really like to view part 2, but the link doesnt work, could you maybe upload it?
Thanks for the video! I easily do cork 540 and rodeos but still find this interesting and learning. I have some problems with my spins by going of to the side and losing speed by carving a lot and thats because I turn to early like shown at the end and I didn't really know what to do about it until now.
@Voochl Backflips are easy take as few speed checks as possible, stay tucked (crouch on your approach your first couple times it helps a lot), pop of your toes, stay committed in the air don't panic or you'll under rotate. Finally make sure you spot your landing
Hey Snowboardaddiction! Loving the vids! You make it look so easy! I have two questions :) would be awesome if you could answer! This season I spent some time trying to nail tamedogs, but for some reason when ever I landed my body was at an angle leaning over my toes, resulting in bail. I think it's down to my take-off but maybe you guys know for sure :)? Also, it would be cool if you could do a tutorial on binding positioning for different uses, like park/piste/offpiste! THANKS! Respect!
You should be able to spin a back 3 on a 10-15 foot jump your first time with a minimal injury especially if it's soft but if you live on the east coast like Ido, god have mercy lolol. Might be hard to get a grab in though, need 20-40 ft air for that
Hey this my 9 or 10 day snowboarding and can hit a lot of the rails and rumps ag my sking and snowboarding resort and after watching this I think this will help me do these tricks at mt. Lacrosse
fantastic tutorial but I don't understand what would happen if you went straight up the ramp and spin from the top? I am a rollerblader so I do have the notion of spinning, but I'm a super rookie snowboarder and was curious. thanks
Dude, before tring these tricks, u have to understand the movement by yourself... Watching these videos won't make u do any tricks if u don't feel them :D But the tips are just great, this is really what u have to do
I know right?! Up here in Alaska we have some worldwide famous terrain, but for some reason none of our resorts will build nice perfect jumps like this. It's okay because I use the natural jumps the mountains give me, but I think it'd be so much easier to have a nice straight jump and soft landing.
@wktm125sx in my opinion, when you're doing it frontside, it's the easiest way to grab an frontside grad (e.g. "indy"), and when doing it backside, either a mute or a bs grab. I think it's the most natural and easiest way (and also not interfering with your rotation) to grab with your back arm... if you start your rotation with your back shoulder and you have to rotate it towards the front,
***** its not pwnage you stupid fuck. lol you do realise that comments stack right? This original post is from Feb. So theres about a couple of months of comments to go through. And to top it off, no one is on here, "liking" your comments so theres no one here but you and I...but, like i give a fuck.
***** Oh wow, low blow.....-_-. Because I make sure that whenever I cut my hair I go and update my youtube accounts profile picture just to make sure kids with down syndrome have an up-to-date hair pic. -_-
Been trying this out. I think my issue is that I don't have enough speed (have no issues doing straight airs) and I seem to be looking down at my board as I go over the lip, causing me to put all my weight forward and eating shit. I'll give it a few more hits!
@sk8er37dus what you might be doing is focusing on getting your board spinning, so when u are in the air you are rotating your lower body, spinning your feet but not your upper body. I find spins work better if you spin you upperbody and lower body at the same time, to prevent counter rotating your body.
great tutorial! i'm hopin to land a 7 this year... for 3's and 5's i've been ollying and i do kinda wobble in the air. i'll take your advice and try jumping with both feet evenly. any advice for bigger jumps where u gotta pick up a lot of speed? or is it pretty much the same idea?
hey @snowboardaddiction, awesome tutorial ive been trying to land them properly for ages. My problem is that i always go stiff legged and im always leaning back towards the jump when i land, so i fall over. Same with 180s, i land with my shoulders over the tail of my board and i have no clue how to correct it- any tips? I know i need to hoik my legs up when i pop, but i cant figure the leaning back part. Cheers dude :)
@freshmakerr lean into the landing (down hill) more so than you are doing if you are falling backwards you must be leaning back, you should focus on centering your weight over your board and if the take off is steep (popy) lean over your front foot more to ensure your body goes off the jump not just your board
@NoobPeriod It is good but note that you do NOT have to take the large setup if you are already aggressive and successful with it. Note JAMIE LYNN. it just makes it more effortless. It does help with the bigger jumps.
@snowboardaddiction i have a pretty big question for you today: When taking off a big air, you say to spin your arms shoulders etc, horizontaly, did you mean horizontal to the flat ground or horizontal to the angle of the kicker itself ?
I feel really uncomfortable with standing with the left foot infront so I can't do 180's yet. How do I learn to actually ride with lefty in front? just practice? -Thanks for the video from Norway
@snowgalet not an expert but you should try to land just slightly on the back of you board so the flexing of your board will absorb the shock- or the landing that your going down isn't steep enough.
thanks for the tip, I went to my local skiresort, found the biggest kicker and broke every bone in my body
lol.
QuadCork1620 Was it attempting a Quad cork 1620???
haha!
This video wanne see... But one little Q., why the biggest???
i have always failed on 360 with snowboard and then i watched this video and i realised what i did wrong and then i tried it again today and succesfully landed my first 360. thank you so much :)
Someone once told me if you think you're going fast enough; go faster. It's so true.
ahhh it really depends, but kinda when it comes to park jumps at least, but once you know the right speed you don't wanna necessarily push it past that
Yea until you go to flat...
Worked beautifully. I used to go to a smaller park so this was never a problem. Now at Keystone, the massive jumps were given me trouble on where and how to set up and take off. Went out the next day and pounded out a nice 720

The most helpful tip I can give to anyone with spinning is to take off without scrubbing the jump or being at any angle when you leave the lip. It makes it harder to land clean.
Spinning can be sketch and is where everybody ends up hurting themselves. Thanks for making a competent tutorial video to help people spin correctly

I conetrate to much and loose my balance and dont know in the final moment how i have to jump... next snowboard vacation i try this how its here explained
This helped so much! I never understood the concept of creating a platform and always used to find it super difficult to rotate.
its not often you get a good tutorial with some good music to back it up. nice work
wow this is the BEST how to spin on a snowboard -vid i´ve ever seen! im sure this will help me to clear the spin trick much eazier then i tried to do them earlier. thanks man!

Ok this helped a Lot. I was setting up way too early! No wonder I couldnt get off the lip straight, and I was hitting the nuckle.
you are one of the best for snowboarding i love snowboarding!! maybe you dont think that you are the best but I CAN ASURE YOU THAT YOUR ARE THE BEST!

I just learned frontside 3s today and they were much cleaner after I saw this vid, gotta love the iPod at the mtn
great video on teaching , i'm more confident on trying the 360 now
I've found if you do a nose roll 180 off the lip you spin like crazy. So that might be useful to practice for those who can't get enough rotation.
***** I confirm this, it only works on ramps smaller than 15ft, then again if you are hitting a 15ft kicker you should have more than enough time to get the board around 360 without doing stuff like this.

@@cybertree I lived most of my life in AK, snowboard, and remember that exact same problem.
Thanks man! now i can do Fs 720 whit stale-grab! and before i watched your vids i was struggeling whit 180!

Great how to vid! Cant wait to try it in this season! Hopefully I will make it.. I can only do a 180 so.. wish me luck:D
i can pop 1's but not 3's, this will really help. Thanks!!!
you guys are great teachers!!! respect and thanx
So much better than Expert Village. Thanks for actually putting some thought into this video.
U guys are the best. :) u explain much better then most.

hope perisher has something other than its two massive jumps for me to practice on this year. Keen to get my spin on
because of this vid i have become so confident in spinning 3's and 5's that i am entering a boardin comp in 44hrs
where is the second vid? link is dead. loved the first

Tomorow i will try to land my first 360, i'll give you a 'raport' later.
:D
@snowboardaddiction NICE!!! These How to's are GREAT!!! thx a lot
@snowboardaddiction should be also initiate backside spins with our back arm/shoulder? thanks so much, just bought the program
Awesome vid. Helped me a ton, just landed my first 3 cuz of u man

When i am looking at you do that it looks easy!
You guys are the best! Thank you, SA!
because of this vid, i hit a fronside 3 on my first attempt. and if you dont your not watching this video enough!
Any tips for the landings? Where should i be looking? I struggle a bit with my landings, and usually have to revert when spinning frontside..
@NoobPeriod
It is good but note that you do NOT have to take the large setup if you are already aggressive and successful with it.
@sk8er37dus try doing a bigger preparation and trying releasing the prep at different times until you get it around.
Always very good, very well put videos.
