    This transceiver is the best package at a very reasonable price - go get one you won't be disappointed and you'll just fall in love with what SDR can do. BTW it's on the front page of the Sherwood listing.
    Great job Icom.

    Nice one Paul, it has very effective NR. I like how you optimise your Gain for very strong signals and weak ones by controlling the RF Gain knob. That's the secret of this fine radio
    When receiving on CW, try the audio scope next time you will see the CW on the scope!
    I think the audio out of this little radio is magnificent! I'm definitely keeping mine in my shack.

    I have the IC 7300 (purchased at HAM Radio 2016) in my shag and love it...gives alot for resonable money...Since the Kenwood TS-590SG and others are just relaxing :-) However the reception of the TS-590 SG is far better.

    For some reason I just cant seem to get past this rig. It seems that based on cost and overall function the 991a makes more sense, but this radio is an amazing piece

    I was listening to a long wave station on 198 and the signal sounded a bit weak, then I noticed a setting that is switched on by default. I think its called MW attenuation. Switch that off and even long wave was a pleasure to listen to. Lovely rich sound from it.

    You sure make the tiny (physically) 7300 look like a big radio in this video. I just got mine yesterday and after watching a lot of videos in advance I was a little shocked at how small it is. I wish it was twice as big. I wish it was as big as it looks in this video :)

    • @LivePDOfficerInterviews
      @LivePDOfficerInterviews 5 років тому +1

      robert fleming yes, you can buy three 7300’s for the cost of the 7610. Then maybe go with a 101D after a few years when the price really drops. Especially on great used ones.
      Just a thought. I bought a 7300 new, then I was really upset with the QRM coming through the speaker because it really does not have great noise reduction compared to the Yaesu FTDX 3000 which is just a few hundred more and I can guarantee you you, you’ll hear better DX and much less noise.
      The difference for me was making a QSO To Hawaii on the 7300 but no further and then getting Australia in the Philippines with the FTDX 3000.
      Both of coarse at 100 W, but, the 3000 simply can “hear farther.“
      I was so impressed with the FTDX 3000 that I sold a used unit I had purchased, made a small profit, then went and purchased one brand new in the box so I could get a three-year warranty as well. It’s just a phenomenal radio compared to the 7300.
      I’m not saying that the 7300 is garbage. It was an amazing radio for the price and had a lot of “I candy” to it.
      But the name of the game is busting through pile ups and hearing farther to get better QSO’s!
      In that matter, the Yaesu won every time.

    Just got this radio few days ago and few days after that last Saturday got my general ticket upgrade, getting everything I need to get on the air. planning using a multi band HyEndFed Antenna but I wondering which is the best antenna that this radio would work with. I want to use it at home and also on the field. I am putting together a go box with a Pelican case 1510 where everything fits nicely. I don't know how to hide the expenses from the wife! .73 from Rody, KI7CSI

      It's hard to say, because I had the receiver borrowed at home for only a short time. There are a few modes for waterfall and speed. Also was possible to set attenuation indenpendly on RX. It's very nice transceiver.

    Is the IC-7300 better then the IC-7600?

    • @OM0ET
      @OM0ET  6 років тому +3

      RMDR is different between both radios.
      IC7600 = 80dB
      IC7300 = 100dB
      IC7610 = 110dB
      more dB = better receiver selectivity nearby strong signal
