- It's all about the reception capabilities and the filters of these two radios. Have in mind that Yaesu was first introduced in 2007 and the Icom in 2016.
In this video both radios share the same long wire antenna (tuned for this frequency using a coupler) and they both have the same filter settings (2,4kHz).
Never the less the noise filters on the Yaesu are better, as you can hear, despite it's age, the final audio is way better than the Icom's.
There is no paid promotion for any of these radios, both have been purchased by me.

I'm lucky owner of 7300 :) . I'm looking for Ft2000 style - I like to have separete knobs for each fucntion... but I really enjoy IC 7300 - amaizing little toy. Greetings form SP6JAP
Yes, the 7300 is a great radio and more or less 20 years younger than the 2000. But I honesty like the looks and the filters of the 2000D. You can make the noise even with S9, to disapear, something that the 7300 can not do. Maybe the 7610 can. If you find a 2000 or a 5000 (even better), take it.
I also own both. This is a quality comparison, when NR for both is OFF. FT2K is a bigger, better radio but it probably cost 5X more to build - hihi!!! I have Network Science 3 Khz crystal roofing filter for FT2K, this also makes a great difference on SSB. The optional Ft2K Sub receiver filter is also very nice.
Where can I purchase this type of roofing filter. Didn't know that there is an optional sub receiver filter either. Can you post a site to purchase them both please?
@@batfalcononyoutube I am not sure if they are now available, you may need to find them used. The 3Khz crystal roofing filter is from AC0C and the subreceiver CW filter is from W4RT.

@@batfalcononyoutube He is a good ham, maybe he can locate one for you. I can tell you it is not a plug in filter and is fairly large , he had a custom batch (one time) about 10 years ago...
