Yamaha WaveRunner SVHO Impeller and Driveshaft Replacement - The REAL story!

Continuation of our father and son "go-fast" project. This can be one of the more challenging aspects of the build as the original Yamaha 1.8 driveshaft is never the right length. The Yamaha manual shows an easy procedure. Really? You watch and decide. Lots of reports of it becoming and BIG WRENCH dance. I will show you step-by-step on to remove the impeller with the correct tools, a 4 to 5-foot long breaker bar, and heat.

I cut a large 27mm socket in half so it can slide over the 'nut' end of the impeller. Welded about a 4' angle iron to the socket for one BIG wrench - and it worked.

You didn’t show the removal rebuilding of the bearings!!!

Thought he said it unscrewed the opposite way, which is anti clockwise ? But I’m only half way through the video so far.

Did it booger up any surface that needs a bearing to slide over or seals?

Can anyone tell me what kind of sealant to use when putting back the wear ring housing to the rest of the prop? He broke the impeller housing in half I need to know what to seal it with when you put it back together

Do you know the torque spec of that drive shaft nut at the front bearing? I can’t seem to find that anywhere.

Did you ever find the torque spec? I still can't get this stupid impeller off. Battling the flex need another vise only have one. Lol
