She didn't mean that she's actually weak. She means her body shape may not work for the uniform. They have to think of all aspects of this job. Can she dance, does she have good showmanship, can she wear the uniform and unfortunately, the woman has bodybuilder legs. She didn't make it anyways and it wasn't just because of the uniform it was also her inability to perform the dances as instructed.

There is nothing wrong with thiccccc thighs! I know the DCC has a look, but there is nothing you can do about the natural proportions of your body. I played travel softball from age 6 to 25 and most of my years were spent catching, so I was up and down hundreds of time an hour. The result was thick thighs that I still have to this day. And guess what... men DO find them attractive!

they had Meredith's vest altered to be shorter, seems like they could've gotten Vivian a pair of boots that were an inch or 2 shorter on her lower leg 🤷🏻♀️ seems like they put in more effort for certain ppl than they do for others

The craziest thing about Vivian is she LOST 25 pounds before auditioning and they still shamed her body saying her thighs are too big. She deserved to be on the team so bad.

Spray tan mishap girl only cheered at the first pre season home game, and then because of some personal issues, she left the squad. She never even had "a season". Never got a pinky ring.
Tbh, they should’ve cut her for that nonsense, but no. They ended up cutting Vivian, who was a better dancer than Kaitlyn.
They cut Kaitlyn as a vet the following year because she proved to not remember how not to act stupid.

Vivian demonstrates that, regardless of whatever 'healthy' lifestyle you lead, people's bodies are shaped differently. She can't change the length of her legs or where she carries weight/muscle. I'm glad that clips like these show that DCC encourages, and even mandates, managing bodies for the sake of a look rather than 'health'. They want their lineup of 36 to look as close to clones as possible, which is ridiculous and dangerous if they consider them role models for their fan base.
You know, if Viviene was Meredith Madden, they would have made those boots shorter to fit her 😱

Vivian should've been on the team. She's beautiful, executed the choreography very well, and looks amazing in uniform. I have the utmost respect for Kelli & Judy, but she would've been such a gem on the sidelines.

What annoys me about Vivian’s year is that they made huge adjustments for Meredith and her uniform / dancing but with Vivian they didn’t do anything.
If this is the treatment they choose to show their viewers on camera, imagine how appalling and degrading their behavior towards their dancers must be when the cameras are off. Disgusting.

Kitty Chapman Carter, a former DCC cheerleader who couldn't take the heat herself & quit in 1977 because she was asked to lose weight, has said vicious, vile things to DCC candidates. "What's with the blow job mouth?" was just one example. That kind of talk is shocking to some of the youngest ones.

I get wanting the members of your team to have a fit and healthy appearance. But I've lost alot if respect for the DDC after this. It proves that they hold these standards to have a team of girls that look like how everyone else wants them too look, and even if you look healthy and fit, if you don't meet their standard then you are ugly and don't belong. It's not insane at all. When you go for the top, the littlest things matter more and more. It's like passing a test with a 95% doesn't mean you're not smart, but the person with 98% is getting more opportunities. She is gorgeous and strong, but not enough.

I never could understand why there would be another cut or 2, after the fitting of the uniform & the photoshoots? Shouldn't the cuts be before all that? I would think getting the uniform & having your photos taken would be the final thing to signify that the girl made the squad.
Kelli and Judy have to make sure the ladies look good in the uniform. A girl might be a powerful dancer with amazing kicks, but if she doesn't look good in the uniform then she can't be a DCC.

I’m disappointed in the comments about Vivian. She’s beautiful. I know they want sexy, fierce, and confident women but can you get that with a girl that isn’t stick thin, or blonde/brunette. Also as a natural redhead the lack of that genuine hair color frustrates me. I love watching these clips but there are just some things that make me uncomfortable. It’s the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader brand they want what they want.

Surely it would show diversity instead of making little carbon copies of each other! Like I am yet to see a girl who is pale skinned! They have tanned girls season in and season out but can us pale girls who don't want to use tanners please get some representation too? xxx

I wanted to tryout for a DC cheerleader but I look very similar to Vivian. I am on the shorter side and my thighs are thick but now I see how they are and it’s discouraging.
She called one of the dancers stupid basically when they got tanned the night before, when they specifically said no tanning😂
Vivian is beautiful and her thighs looked fine here. Too bad thicc thighs didn't become trendy until a few years later, I think she would have made the team. There are some girls with thicker (well, DCC's standard of thick) legs in more recent years and they look great. Also Kaitlyn should have been cut that night imo. She made the team but didn't last the whole season so that probably says a lot about her maturity.

Anytime I watch DCC I have the same reaction, I love to see the ladies as they dance, as they learn and as they compete for the squad. Yet for as much as I cheer for the ladies, I’m insulted and infuriated by the managing arm and/or executives that are responsible for DCC.
It’s rare for any of the dancers to actually stand up and call out the managing portion of DCC. Well, I’ll rephrase, you never see it on screen. The only exception was Megan flaherty’s 3rd trip through training camp when she got cut.... again.
I don’t agree with the actual priorities of the organization, however each lady knows what she’s signing up for when they sign that contract. For as much as the ladies have to hold up their end of the deal, I’d love to see these ladies hold DCC up to their end of the deal.
Everyone needs the occasional dose of extra humility, that includes C, K and J! Flat out DCC wouldn’t be what it is without these amazing ladies who put themselves through absolute hell in order to reach that goal/dream.
Vivian if you're seeing this I can assure you that in the Caribbean your thick thighs would be very much appreciated lol! I have very thick thighs too! #thickthighsmatter

Some of ya'll really dont know DCC's reputation, they are known worldwide and these girls work their butts off day and night to get where they are to be on this team, so Kelli and Judy pushing them to be their best and look their best should be important and if something does stick out then tell them. DCC has a good reputation for a reason. All dance teams are like this, not just DCC.
All dance teams do not put looks above talent, like DCC does. It's all about appealing to male football fans to entertain them during breaks. Without good pay (as opposed to the actual players which get paid horrendous amounts). The fact that young women still want to dos this is SAD.

The Dork Knight You are correct, but editing does take money and time. But aside from that, the main issue was her blatant disregard of their orders. If she’s already ignoring instructions as a candidate, they may be worried she’ll continue to do the same as an actual member. This is a job and therefore there are strict rules.
Not following a simple demand is a red flag. Worse is soon to come.

As a Texan who has grown up with this uniform, god no. It's iconic. It's more iconic than the star on the 50 yard line. People all over the world know that uniform and I love that it hasn't changed since 1961.

Im 5'10 and knee high boots even make my legs look stumpy and i wear a 26/27 w/ 35" inseam! imagine getting cut bc the boots look too tall on you ! like really? they need to get some slightly shorter boots anyways not like ankle boots but they need like 1-2 inches off they look outdated and like fisherman boots!!!!
They're traditional cowboy boots. That's just how tall they are. 🤷🏼♀️
They aren't knee high, they come to just over mid-calf on most people.
And I'm not 100% sure if it was before or after this season, but they are partnered with Lucchese. Those boots are already upwards of $600 just for a pair "inspired" by the ones the DCC wear. If the girls all got custom height boots it would 1) look weird on the field and 2) cost an arm and a leg considering the girls get these boots before they even make the team.

Did kaitlyn make the team?
She was a veteran and they rarely cut veterans from TC. She did get cut later though because she just got worse about not following directions, being late, forgetting her training uniform.

I am all for loving anyone's body of any shape and size. But, when you work as a dancer, certain jobs have certain requirements. The Rockettes have a height requirement. Some jobs even have a skin or hair color requirement based on what they are looking for.
Should they have said those comments, no. Should the comments have been aired, no. At the same time, every season I have watched has had appearance requirements. It sucks for that to be the reason you get cut, but it's also the industry you tried to become a part of.
This is nothing against Vivian by the way. I do strongly agree that those comments were disrespectful and more like high school gossip. I also want to remind people that appearances are a requirement in certain professions.
A skin color requirement..that sounds disgusting and borderline racist and colorist but go off....its the fact that some of these things are outrageous like in this world where people come in so many shades and different forms some of these requirements can prove to be ridiculous
Well part of it is role casting. You wouldnt cast say Harriet Tubman as a white woman. But yes, there are also some that would have say so many blonds, a certain amount of x skin color etc. Some of it is appearance balances, I.e. not having a full cheerleading squad of just pale blond woman. Some of it is blatant racism.
I thought that were a rough on vivian, what so wrong with having some thigh meat? She still look great in that uniform, if anything she looks better because of her curves. They are body shaming her and that is not right, she has a very nice body. It like any order to be a DCC you not allowed to have any type of curves on you. Curves is a very feminine, that what makes a woman . They will kick you out of you have any type of meat on your bones regardless of how great you look or great of a dancer you are. They would put a mediocore dancer who really can not dance or have the "look" on the field due to her tiny frame rather than a woman who has curves and has a great face and a great dancer.
